He's a fucking selfish asshole who only cares about himself and his dream of being a great ruler, no matter how many people die because of him. He went off the deep end when he had Guts murder that guy.
>>135852352 I wouldn't find him interesting or appealing if it weren't for his doing everything wrong. I'll have to disagree with you anon, but rest assured Griffith remains among my favourite characters.
>>135853189 >I heard that girls secretly enjoy being raped Here's your reply. But to answer your question, yes it did arouse me. In the end, rape is just like girls for most of you in here. Appealing in 2D, repulsive in 3D.
>>135855864 How do you make a woman fall in love during rape tho? Do i really need to go a to a third world country and save a qt from being made a sex slave and train her for war during the rest of her life?
>>135853514 I've come to the realization and acceptance that Casca will go the way of Peekaf by the time this arc ends. She won't die/commit suicide, she won't cuck Guts for some guy who may or may not be or son, she will become a dark elf. And it will be glorious.
>>135852352 you know, with griffith ressurection, and the seemingly becoming impossible to live in the rest of the world besides falconia, this just seems to me like the god hand are purposefuly gathering as much humans as possible for some kind of ecplipse, like lambs to a slaughter, that we are still waiting to be drawn
i just want Casca to return to normal so that guts RPG party finally has a woman fighter, it already has the tank, nimble sword user, thief, and 2 magic users
>>135852352 Memes aside, it's undeniable Griffith crossed the line during the Eclipse with the rape of Casca and thereby his explicit rejection of humanity, but I wouldn't consider him wholeheartedly evil, and I doubt Miura wrote him to be either.
A crucial point in Berserk is that there is very little good in universe. The world they live in is shit, and has been shit since forever. Pointless wars, hunger, disease, the rich exploiting and abusing the poor, endless suffering no hope for change. Hell, the world in Berserk is SO shitty the collective human consciousness created some "evil" abstract God to blame for all the shittiness.
Following that, there are very few genuinely GOOD people in Berserk either. Can Casca or Guts be considered good? not really, they were just mercenaries, just average people trying to survive and find a little peace. Think about it. Who could be considered "good" in Berserk? I dare you to name more than 3. Aside from a few minor side characters (Luca, Flora?) or children (Schierke) who are inherently innocent and don't count, everyone is an asshole.
If there are no good people, how could Griffith be bad? His dream at least was one of peace and change for the better. Griffith is not that more evil or selfish than say, Guts. The only different is one is the antagonist and the other the protagonist. They probably are fairly close on a spectrum of morality.
>>135859162 We're talking about human morality. Nobody give's a rat's ass if magical fairies are good natured beings, the point is, humans are shit. Griffith is no more of a shitty person than most people in Berserk.
>>135858833 >If there are no good people, how could Griffith be bad? rape, torture and murder are still pretty bad, even if everyone else is doing it what about Farneses mother or roderick, there's plenty of good in the berserk universe it's just the mai characters deal with demons/monsters all the time and rarely see it
When the eclipse happened, and Casca's mind body and soul were broken. I realised that Griffith had destroyed something truely beautiful. He destroyed a character and gave us no closure. Bad guys destroy things that the good guys love all the time, Griffith destroyed something the reader loved.
Casca was the ultimate Waifu. The Omni-Waifu. Her story didn't get to end in death. She exists but all that's left of her is a monument to Griffith's sacrilege, and Gut's inability to let go.
>>135857885 Every issue that continues with this fucking RPG nonsense kills me a little bit more inside. When are they all going to get eaten by apostles so Guts can got fucking murder Giffith alone. Giffith will at the lat moment realise what a Hitler level shit lord he's been and beg for forgiveness, Guts will laugh as he rapes Griffith to death.
>>135861560 >Giffith will at the lat moment realise what a Hitler level shit lord he's been He already did before the eclipse and decided that stopping before he achieved his goal would be the worst thing he could do He knows he's terrible but he's committed everything to his dream
>>135861781 What development? Bolting on these stupid D&D characters to the story because the author has no idea how to end the manga isn't 'development'. What emotional arcs have happened in the manga to chill Guts out? At what point has he bonded with any of these manlets apart from being in the same fight scenes as them.
The plot hasn't developed since eclipse, that's why it's all we're talking about here. These so called side characters are just sort of 'there'.
>>135862027 Guts accepted them because of Casca. He didn't trust himself alone with her after years of killing.
>At what point has he bonded with any of these manlets apart from being in the same fight scenes as them
Specially because of that. Fighting alonside others made him feel like The Band of the Hawk Raiders leader again. He value the brotherhood in battle. And they all help him in various way, not just battle. He had important moments with each one of them, but specially the loli the opened herself to him the most. Guts it's not just a hateful killing machine anymore, he starting to become more self aware of his own mortality and life as he have someone to protect now and there are more people who care about him...fuck why am i replying to you? You are clearly baiting or you are just an edgy teen. Go kill yourself.
>>135863025 Ok sure buddy. I'm not sure who's baiting who here.
Did ny of this stuff actually happen, or were we just told it happened? Was there an actual arc, or did they just sort of show up on Guts' journey for some contrived reason, then join him in a fight, then followed by several pages of guts' monologing about how important it is to him to fight along side someone again?
Because that ain't shit. That's called bolting something on. That's the author being a hack because he's got no ideas. If we don't get to bond at the same speed as guts, they're nobodies. You can't just have people turn up and have the protagonist tell the audience how important they are now, and expect a vigilant reader to give a merry shit.
Right back at you bud, why the fuck am I explaing this to you? If you honestly believe everything you said, I don;t know what's wrong with your brain, if I started jingling my keys in front of your face would you be just as enthralled?
>>135864577 Holy shit, did you read the whole manga or did you just jumped right of in the Sea God battle after the Eclipse?
Fucking Millenium Falcon, faggot. Go read it. Guts didn't fully trusted them at the beginning, the same goes for Serpico and Schierke about him. During the whole battle with the Trolls and the Kushan monsters he developed the relationship with them. And there was no monologue of Guts, you bullshitter, just that one on the boat, and it wasn't even a monologue.
>>135861347 >Bad guys destroy things that the good guys love all the time, Griffith destroyed something the reader loved This is bullshit, hell, any villain who killed a beloved character counts. When Dio killed Jonathan i cried my fucking eyes out
>>135867886 When he became part of the godhand, he gained insight of the future. After raping her, he turns the child into some form of apostle so it can join with the egg apostle and become his new body, so he can come back to the world, so he can create the kingdom he desired. He was also jealous of guts and casca and probably wanted to strike back/show how he felt.
>>135868268 Isn't that kinda obvious? Guts leaving The Band of the Hawk was the first real loss he ever had and it totally broke him. He was spoiled, not in the sense that he got everything handed to him, but he couldn't stand the fact that there was something out of his reach.
>read intermittently >comfy knowing there will be a chapter or two waiting for me when I remember every other month >guts is off the boat >life is going well >catch up on the last two chapters >BERSERK WILL NOW BE PUBLISHED IRREGULARLY >NEXT ISSUE SUMMER 2016 Please. I need to move on already. I can't keep checking every few months, get depressed, and be despondent.
>>135853189 As a female obviously being raped (primal rough sex) by a hot guy is a great fantasy, but just like men we don't always want it even if they are sexy. As a berserk fan, the emotions and setting are what makes it horrific (still fapped to it). Griffith actually did seem to be trying to give her pleasure and out do guts. He had noticed their relationship and casca caring for guts and overheard their conversation. It was cruel and embarassing for her as she was going through a tramatic experience. Even if she did love griffith some how that only makes it worse for her especially knowing what he has done. This is the case where even if someone is aroused they did not want it.
>>135853189 that's not really how that works; rape is a very common fantasy amongst women, and while it may often be physically pleasing it'll still damage the fuck out of them mentally. Like most fantasies/fetishes, it's only okay whilst in the realms of fantasy and roleplay, the second it becomes real it's just a fucked up situation
>>135852352 It was destined to happen just as he was destined to be tortured he really didn't have much choice in the matter especiallt with how far he had come. I also do believe he crossed the line with the raping and corruption of casca child but I also believe that this was destined (for obvious reasosn) and he may have been taken over by demonic rage or what ever. I love griffith as a character but the truth is that he was the antagonist from the begining the Eclipse wasn't when he became "bad" it had to happen and he came so far.
>>135853189 I didn't see your comment before. Heh, let me guess... A virgin, right? This is such a typical question in this place that its just boring now. Oh well, yeah, it's the true. Everyone has weird fantasies, I bet you too, anon. I like biting for example, and this is not a joke or a fantasy. It's one of my fetish and it's not something that you may tell in a restaurant or a caffe, right? So, about rape... The fantasy is very simple, you just want to be in a position in which you can't do nothing and let your partner (someone that you may like, for example) do the job while he plays with you and tease you a little. It's not different to the typical dream in where your best friend enter for the window of your bedroom while you're sleeping and has sex with you in the darkness without knowing that is he. Of course, this is just that, a fantasy. Everyone can have fantasies like that, it belongs to our imagination and has no place in real life. There are no "good" or "bad" fantasies, but the possibility that this violation (mentally staging in an erotic way and excluding violence and trauma of a real rape) may come to pass is not really desired. On the contrary, it causes horror. Nobody wants to be in the place of the victim when these horrible things happen, unless you're a pervert or just a masochist. Not because we imagine killing someone that we hate in the most gruesome and inimaginable way we will unleash those impulses, right? The same goes for sexual fantasies. But to be honest, I don't really find it so hot. Do you understand now?
>>135876145 His dreams about having his own reign are not so different of mine, when I was a child, playing with blocks to make a castle. Yes, I think he's very childish and he was selfish when he sacrificed all of his friends/family, just like a child.
>>135876466 Of course that it doesn't exist the "good" or the "evil", that its just something that we invented to protect ourselves for the things that may hurt us in our life's. What is good for you may be bad for me and vice versa, that's as clear as the skies. But Griffith/Femto is indisputably the antagonist of the story and the "big bad guy", and that's one of the more interesting things about him. Guts is not an angel, but Griffith is a traitor, and you know how Judas ended, anon. There's a special place in hell for traitors like him and I can't wait to see the final confrontation if I live to see it.
How does it feel that despite being the most hated Berserk character he also far more interesting than almost everyone else? Face it /a/ you find him compelling. You don't want to, you want to have nothing to do with him, but you still give into him. You let him overpower you, So much until you start to enjoy it.
Griffith is raping you and you don't even know it.
>>135877245 He never told people he'd sacrifice them to demons (or at all). People said they could die for him but that means "die fighting on the battlefield in the context of their fucking job : being a mercenary". If he told everyone to kill themselves for his dream, no doubt they'd tell him to fuck off.
So yeah, he's honest about his dream but he didn't properly tell anyone what he'd do with their lives if he had to. He scammed these poor niggas
>>135877245 I don't hate Griffith, anon. I love the character, but I would also love to see him dead. I dont hate him I just want to see his end. That's the main point. I understand that you're a fangirl, or just a faggot, I'm a fangirl too. But he's just a character, I don't give a shit because he's not real and it's the fact that he's evil that makes me like him more. He's a fucking child, a selfish and narcissistic moron with a God complex (and a coward), so what? He's awesome.
>>135852926 Here's a couple of things I've noticed that not many people point out:
The Japanese have this belief that a sword gains power from the ones it slew. The Dragonslayer has killed several Apostles, Gosts, Demons, Trolls, a Sea God, and you can also make the argument that it also gained power when he stabbed Slan.
His armor allows him to not have pain bother him, so the brand should have little effect on him, especially when he's near the Godhand.
The fact that he's a sacrifice and survived the eclipse basically means that he can now interact with beings on both plains of existence, which should include the Godhand. This also means that his fate is unpredictable, and not even Griffith nor the Godhand can tell or manipulate his fate in any cheaty way. Otherwise, they would have done so a long time ago.
Arguably, Zodd is the strongest apostle and Gutts was shown to go toe to toe with him before he was even given the Berserk armor, and even if someone argued that Grunbeld was stronger, Gutts still bested him even after holding into account that he was already fucked up before the fight.
I'd say he stands a good chance at Griffith as is. The real question would be is his crew ready for it or not.
>>135877866 Why, though? From the start he stated that he was using the Band of the Hawk, Guts and Casca included, as tools for his ambition. He sent them into battle for his own ends to live or die by hteir own skills. That's what everyone with command over men and women and ambition does.
They and countles others were already sacrificed to his ambition long before the Eclipse, that was the whole point of the metaphor Ubik showed him. The Ceremony of the Coming Lord was just a little more direct.
As fro raping Casca, yeah, that was a shitty move but I don't think he did it just for the lols. If his master keikaku needed that demon child then it's simply another tool he used, and a corrupted abortion and a mentally damaged woman aren't much in the grand scheme of things.
>>135858663 >I mean, sure being raped must suck, but it must surely be better than death. Really, considering she literally lost her mind from the experience, probably at least in part from the pain of her mark hurting too... Yeah, it is, but only because Guts is here to save her. If he wasn't there, it would be highly questionable. On the other hand, considering where the poor Band went after their deaths, maybe it actually is better overall.
>>135877179 I do actually kinda sympathise with what he went through before the Eclipse and with the choice he made. This doesn't mean he isn't or wasn't a horrible person. It's just that before the Eclipse he was ultimately human.
I have a question for you, /a/. Do you ultimately want Guts to win? Meaning, manage to both save Casca and get revenge on Griffith without compromising his morals. Would it even fit the manga, in your opinion? If not, what do you think would be more fitting?
>>135884730 Likely, yes. But everything we do know about Griffith's motivations suggest that his intent is to rule, not to slaughter. I find it more likely that those monsters will start slaughtering people of their own volition rather than him ordering it, but it's even more likely that he'll give them a foreign nation to slaughter before that happens.
>>135884955 Which means he wont have saved anyone. Also, Griffith's accountable for what happened to the whole band of the falcon. That's 30 000 deaths he has on his hands, plus the ones he sacrified to the demons.
I think Griffith is pretty compelling because of how he seems to be helping everyone now, and maybe his dream is to just have a nice, happy, peaceful kingdom. But I'm not sure if all the monsters are going to like that...
Plus, he did cuck Guts pretty hardcore so there's that
