Do you still put up with batty shit like this, if so why?
That being said I'm a huge fan of the Manga specifically and I love weird nonsensical stuff like this, but I can't imagine why anyone else would stick around.
It's shaped like that for execution-style beheadings. Kind of like a reverse-guillotine. Since the blade only needs to nick you to double your weight, the shape isn't the much of a hinderance for regular combat.
>Why do people still put up with Bleach?
I do what I want.
>Do you still put up with batty shit like this, if so why?
With a smile on my face, because fun.
I think the problem OP has isn't if you wanna take out five minutes out of your day to read a chapter so you can eventually get closure, sure fine. The issue is thinking this manga is actually still good
Aizen is the only reason i still read this shit.
The stuff about the Soul King, the history of Soul Society and how the world and races were created is quite interesting. Kubo does answer many questions, albeit very slowly. The characters are still good. Some of the new villains are lacking, but on the other hand, we got some really good ones like Giselle, Askin, Haschwalth, Bazz-B or As Nodt. The Shinigami are more grey and may become the enemy, the fight scenes and are is still good. And some reveals were good. Only problem is the pacing and Kubo needs to excecute his reveals and fight ends better. And more backstory, especially for the Quincy.
I don't, I stopped reading it months ago because Kubo had every opportunity to try something different with his final arc but he still did the same shit he always did before only with even more fakeouts that impress nobody.
I've just sunk so much time into Bleach at this point that I'm willing to stick around until it ends, just so I don't feel like it was complete waste of time. Honestly, I wouldn't even care if Kubo copped out and ended the story in the next chapter with the bullshittiest of deus ex machinas, so long as it fucking ended.
I wasn't trying to be a Snow Flake I was just asking why other people still read. Even if you like Bleach you can't lie some over the top shit happens on the regular that would discourage readers who aren't willing to put up with it or who don't think it's part of the fun.
It's definitely not closure because I was a huge Naruto fan and dropped that shit after years of reading/watching. I just like Bleach. But this is ridiculous and I'm fine with it
The story was that way as well
Oh SHIT. Kyouraku was foreshadowing to Jugram that he would have Aizen on the battlefield the next time by saying he would prepare some "choice tea". Tea is totally an Aizen thing; remember him offering the Espada tea?
Maybe Aizen will be the one to fight Jugram. If so then I am stoked.
Bleach has been on my backlog for a while, so I spent the last three days marathoning all those chapters.
I always heard Bleach stopped being good after the Soul Society Arc, but I feel it already devolved into boring repetitious fighting during that arc itself. The main difference was that back then fights took 1-2 chapters. Now there's fodder like Gremmy taking entire volumes to die.
Kubo is just making this up on the fly anyway. On an unrelated note, does somebody have the illustration explaining Ichigo's powers?
Consider for a moment that the average Bleach chapter takes about 5 minutes to read. Let's do some motherfucking math.
5 times 657 chapters = 3285 minute / 60 minutes = 54.75 hours
Assuming that anon slept 8 hours a night, we get 70.75 hours.
I'm doing so major estimation here, but it is technically possible.
You're right, it's impossible.
Five minutes per chapter times 657 chapters makes 3285 minutes, which makes roughly 55 hours. A bit much for three days, especially considering that the early chapters had actual content.
Was probably more 5-6 days. Not even NEET level.
Looks like we had the sam train of thought, even the five minute thing. Scary.
While everyone goes bonkers about my inability to remember durations, I found the image I was looking for in the archive.
It's terrible but I'm just waiting to see how the trainwreck ends. Haven't read it for a while since the Mayuri fight though, so I might binge-read it once Aizen pops up again.
I'm not sure if marathoning Bleach is such a good idea. On the one hand, the pacing is much better, on the other hand, you're going to miss out all the important details, like Giselle fighting Rukia, Giselle' shadow looming over Hitsugaya, the second Arrancar (who was someone Orihime didn't meet during the fight with Quilge) that was in the ruins with Grimmjow and Chad, all the lies Soul Society told about the Soul King, Mayuri working on zombies, where Ukitake was, Isshin thinking, giving Ichigo his Shinigami powers back is like robbing him of his future, etc.
Totally possible considering the deeper you get the faster you can skim. There's barely any content to each panel so even a quick scan gives you everything interesting.
Nah, I didn't skim it like some speedreader. While Kubo's art is not among the best, it is still stylish enough to warrant being looked at. For a recent example, I loved the art in Mayuri's fight against Pernidas. (Although he could've compressed it into two chapters, really)
By the way, is it me or did Kubo increase the size of his panels significantly over time? There's fewer and fewer of them every arc.
Not the panel size, but the number of pages got reduced. From 21/20/19 to 17.
You haven't read the last arc, I guess. She's one of the new characters and one of the best.
I've been following Bleach for a long time. I used to love it. It had it's issues but I loved it.
It's downfall started pretty much the moment they went to Hueco Mundo.
That was Chapter 242. That was September 2006. Bleach never recovered from that arc. It has literally been shit for nearly 10 years.
I have, but I don't remember any of the new Quincies. They have no character development for the most part and are pretty much all going to die, can't be bothered to remember their names.
We are just sticking for the crazy ride, we enjoy what Kubo pulls out of his ass next week and not the art or story.
Also to see how it ends. We spend so much time on this, might as well stick until the end, after all a bleach chapter can be read in like 2 minutes
>They have no character development for the most part and are pretty much all going to die, can't be bothered to remember their names.
If you can't even remember Jugram or Bazz-B then you're a 100% speedreader and can get the fuck out.
How many Quincy are actually 100% dead? With zero possibility of coming back outside some revival? I remember that there were several Quincy were one wasn't sure if the wound was actually deadly.
She's the cute, creepy tranny
I actually could see half of the Sternritter surviving the second day. Lille, Haschwalth, Askin, Gerard and Uryuu are definitely still alive. Pernida can regenerate and with the recent focus on the limbs will probably be still relevant. Bazz-B, Giselle and Liltotto will probably be healed by Orihime in time. Bazz-B's and Liltotto's wounds didn't look that severe and Giselle is a zombie. If Giselle is alive, she can kill and revive Bambietta as many times she wants. No way, she's going to loose her favorite zombie. The brain of Gremmy is still intact. at least I can't remember Kenpachi smashing it. Mayuri could probably find a way to make it working together with Nemu, especially if Gremmy is the brain of the Soul King. I don't really like the theory, but it's possible. We've never seen what happened after Cang Du's arm got slashed. He could have survived that and not further be punsihed, because Haschwalth thought the scales were balanced or something like that or maybe BG9's Schrift could make him survive, so he and BG may be also alive. That's 13 Sternritter, which really is half of them. They have at least the possibility to survive. Everyone else is dead.
If they were Shinigami, we probably wouldn't waste a minute with thinking they are dead. We probably would come up with some asspull reasons, how As Nodt could still survive, if he were a Shinigami. It's actually sad. We can't believe a Shinigami dies, even if he gets the most brutal death, while we immediatly think a Sternritter is dead, when he receives a paper cut. The reason why people believe Nemu will come back, is because she's a brain. The reason why people believe Gremmy's dead, is because he's a brain. It's part out fault for thinking that, but also Kubo's for giving us the mindset in the first place.
Not much better to read that comes out almost every week, and been reading it so long, it's just a routine habit now.
I tried to stop reading once, but I always opened it on reflex when reading the other stuff that was out on the same day, so fuck it, quit trying not to.
Can't remember the last time I gave a single fuck what was going on it though. Even Yoruichi doesn't save it for me anymore.
Nah, the Quincy will switch to Ichigo's side and Giselle will impregnate Ichigo and Bambietta with her futa dick. The Shinigami will be enemy though. Ichigo will probably change, once he realizes, they are going to cut his dick.
Well the question was outside of revival. Speaking of revival, anyone else think, Mayuri didn't reveal all the Arrancar zombies he has? I think he could have easily taken Starrk's and Nnoitra's corpses with them.
Or Yhwach using the Soul King's powers to turn Ichigo into a girl. We still don't know what the fourth pupil can do. Yhwach will probably turn into bishi Tensa Zangetsu at some point.
At some point I realized Kubo had finally escaped reason entirely and fully embraced Zombiepowder. It's an improvement, honestly. If only bleach had been like this from the beginning or, more accurately, had stayed like this.
I like a lot of the Quincy designs. It's a shame they get killed off so quickly. Hopefully once Ichigo becomes god everyone gets revived and gets a little epilogue a la One Piece.
I can't keep up with good action comics on a weekly basis because it's tortuous waiting between each and every twist in a fight scene. So I occupy myself with the comedies and Bleach is unintentionally the best.
Dropped this a few months back actually, just couldn't believe how stupid it was getting even for bleach standards and I git behind and can't be bothered to catch up, two questions for you guys:
1.Has any of the good guys died since Mayur started fighting the hand fucker
2.Any major shipper bait to the rukia or orihime fags?
I think at this point it's like watching a sad diseased dying cow. From time to time it spasms in an entertaining way, but mostly it's just shitting on itself.
People like her because she's packing a dick but looks like a lady. Full image for you
>but I feel it already devolved into boring repetitious fighting during that arc itself
Yeah no shit...it turned into a generic battle shonen there
But the fights were interesting because of the characters, there was still good humour(Ganju's fight with Yumichika where he keeps running away is hilarious) and there was this thrill to the whole arc about Ichigo and co. infiltrating Soul Society that made the arc feel exciting
Not to mention the whole drama about Byakuya/Rukia
That a cookie cutter rescue arc where the comic relief had a comic relief fight was truly the least generic shounen thing ever. The hero even trained and powered up and stuff.
Nah it turned into shit in the chapter where
>Ichigo was fighting Yammy on Earth
>Oritits got injured
>Ichigo apologizes to her
>Ichigo goes full-on emo mode for the rest of the series
I remember marathoning the first 200 episodes of bleach back in 2009
Marathoning the shit stains that are Arrancar and Hueco Mundo arc didn't make them any less painful
Then again I like The Bount arc despite it being a filler so what do I know
Typical Japanese reader can clear a 300+ page magazine in around 20 minutes. Exact breakdown averages 3.75 seconds a page. 17 pages to a chapter makes 63.75 seconds. That's about 1 minute, 4 seconds. I guess we can pretend the other 3 minutes 56 seconds has to do with browser load speeds and not anon being learning impaired.
this actually sums up a lot of how I feel about Bleach. I have my misgivings with it, but I honestly can't find any more reason to hate it than I do any other Shounen.
Kubo has a fun series, batty as it is.
Back then, there was this other Jump series where the hero and his posse go rescue a ghost girl. It also ended with the villain knocking around the hero and pulling a jewel out of her to power up. It also had its big dumb guy fight a way stronger pretty boy narcissist. But through wit and tenacity, the goober deals him a humiliating defeat.
Bleach got worse when it became less generic and Kubo actually tried to write his own plot.
New BLEACH book with a Kubo inteview and a dvd
>New BLEACH book
What the fuck? What about? Is it an art book? There hasn't been one since this.
Also, is there a new chapter today?
The chapter that came out last time was this weeks chapter, because people in Japan got the new years issue a couple of weeks in advance specifically because a lot of stuff shuts down early in the new year so they want to make sure it gets out on time, so there is no chapter this week, because you already read it two weeks ago. It's coming out officially this week.
By generic battle shonen I mean that it turned into the typical fight-after-fight manga
First arc wasn't exactly original(I mean it was pretty much Supernatural Ghosbusters) but it was sorta refreshing
And yeah I know Bleach ripped off YYH,Saint Seiya,Inuyasha,Shaman King,JoJo etc.
When did Kubo try to write his own plot anyways?
Don't tell me you're talking about Aizen and Hogyoku being original because that was pretty much a ripoff of Naraku/Shikon no Tama
>The anime was shit half of the time.
But the anime adaptation of Bleach was fine
Yeah the fillers were too much but that's not the studio's fault(and for what it's worth I thought they did an ok job with fillers)...it's Kubo's for writing such goddamn short chapters
>the shitstorm between Ichiruki and Ichihime
So you want to see the same five Rukiafags sperg out like they do at any mention of Orihime while people who read the manga watch things go as they expected?
Tousen is a nigger. Yoruichi is delicious, delicious brown.
It's all just YYH and Ushio & Tora. Whoever thinks Bleach is versatile enough rip off all the others is overcrediting it.
>When did Kubo try to write his own plot anyways?
Whenever he strays from those two titles. Badly.
>Don't tell me you're talking about Aizen and Hogyoku being original because that was pretty much a ripoff of Naraku/Shikon no Tama
Of course not, the Hougyoku isn't even the Shikon jewel. It's very specifically a Yu Yu Hakusho jewel. Retrieved the same way in the same rescue arc and giving the user a monster costume with drape wings.
You know, the one where the token big guy comic relief is outclassed by a narcissist opponent but somehow beats him anyway.
That part is Kubo trying to be original, or at least attempting to make references that aren't plagiarism, and failing. Like the scope of Orihime's powers, it doesn't actually matter when he can't stray far from the two '90s series. It's just a power-up macguffin hidden in a ghost girl who wears a white kimono and needs to be rescued by directly imitating scenes.
It honestly could have been. Back when Kubo foreshadowed Ichigo's growing dark side, it was a sign he was trying to improve on what YYH did.
But because he has no idea what he's doing, he introduced a mess of characters who don't add anything and somehow pulled even more inconsistent bullshit out of his ass.
Bleach was almost sort of kind of better than mistakes of the '90s. Now its greatest legacy is being mocked by other series like One Punch Man and Steins;Gate in gags that don't make it across the language barrier.
Remember that time 3 assholes with weird powers showed up and kidnapped one of the good guys, so the remaining friends had to go rescue them in a house full of twisted space? And before it turned into a fight, their mentor stepped out and said they were behind it to teach a lesson, and now the trio of assholes are going to help them fight the real villain, only to be mostly useless and fade into the background?
Even the fillers knew it was a bad imitation and just kind of rolled with it.
He never said that. The extra pages are made by some random guy in Jump, who only has what he rerads in the manga. Those extra have some asumptions and mistakes as a result. Like the Shiba clan falling 20 years ago or Soken dying before the Auswahlen. Giselle's sex is still not confirmed. She is most likely biologically male, but for all we know, she could be futa for example or a really slutty girl. There's nothing that contradicts that either.
Each author is coming out with a mook of their own. I have the Oda one in japanese and it has an hour long vid of him drawing and coloring. Plus interviews and a tour of his work space. It's pretty cool.
The Anime is atrocious. The first couple of seasons are okay, not bad, I liked the Bounty arc a lot but after that the animation budget apparently become 0. It looks like shit, it's rewritten unnecessarily, and I didn't like it
Creators trying to disguise their lack of originality is funny.
When Saitama hears about Hammerhead on the news and imitates a Bleach overreaction. Murata doesn't write those jokes.
Can we not have another fucking fight between ichigo and a cool headed silent type character kubo?
And if you do have ichigo fight jugram can it not be a complete clone of the other 2 previous fights?
But his sword is hook-shaped and his body is hook-shaped and the moon is hook-shaped inside the hook shape. Even if the concept, design, twist, presentation, and... really, every last aspect about this page is retarded, you could say the layout is... catchy.
I read it only for Kuboing. I stop reading it for 2-3 months then come back to see more 0/10 twists and then the same again. I just wonder if he does it intentionally to troll real fans or he actually thinks it's good.
>implying Kira isn't always a plus
Kira is the best character, the only non faggot, level headed, realistic, and with the best power, only beatable by some bullshit bad match. Gravity controlling bankai when?
Bleaching creams have many advantages and it is economical as well that is why it is widely used. Use of bleach cream makes the face white, clean and attractive... i dont know... makes me feel pretty
>Why do people still put up with Bleach?
I'm waiting for Orihime to win.
no, that anon isn't wrong. Fairy Tail is a shitty wreck of a series that unlike even Naruto and Bleach, could not be said to have once been good at any point of it's development, yet it is one of the more popular series out there.
That's because of the art (re: dem hips) and constantly screams about Nakama-ism. It has no other redeeming factors.
On that note, is anyone else here sad how shit One Piece threads have gotten? Can't even talk about the series in there any more.
Bleach threads really tend to start with the same question lately. Sure the manga hasn't been this bad since... forever? Oh no there was the fullbring arc. But yeah we seem to get to a low point where even fans can't keep on anymore similar to Naruto that time. I personally stick around to close up some lose ends. Bankais and shit, also based Aizen is still around.
>and constantly screams about Nakama-ism
you say that almost as it'd be a good thing. This is literally the biggest reason why this manga is a huge steaming pile of excrements because unlike the other series it goes totaly bonkers with all of its nakama powerups and speeches. But yeah it might have some of the best girls in manga history so it gets a pass (no seriously, I read it too)
>Can't talk about One Piece in OP threads anymore
Yeah no that might be only because we currently have a deadly combination of new years break and beginning/building up of an arc, both alone are reasons the activity in the threads drastically decreases but together they almost make the general vanish completely for like two or more weeks.
My dick says victory is hers already.
I think the only thing I hate in bleach now is how distant we are from ichigo, at this point I dont even see him as a character anymore, he is just a plot device now.
Soul society arc was best ichigo.
