-The last Maki event had a Mexican weeb girl on top of the rankings
-Anju Inami and KanaKing, the new Sunshine VAs are both LL fangirls. In KanaKing's case she likes both Imas and LL. Anju was feeling down on her luck until she got the role of Chika. Poor Girl, Donuts should throw her a donut and debut Jedah this year.
-One of the Sakura Gakuin girls likes LL.
-Probably like 60% of the SI Movie watchers in my cinema were girls.

It's no triumph of fictional writing. But it's entertaining and I wanted to see what happened to them.

What does LL do differently to attract a sizable female audience?

I've been to a few LL events. Small sample size, but the fans there are roughly 50/50 split between males and females. The males are your usual otakus while females usually cosplay and look 'normal'.

I guess this is consistent with the Japanese polls. LL really did a good job appealing to just about everyone.

S1 is not great. The CG is pretty bad, the drama in the final arc is cringe-worthy, and it takes god damn forever to get all 9 girls together. So, yes, people watch it for the cute girls being cute.

For me, I had accidentally watched the first two episodes of S2 before anything else I don't know how, I must be retarded and I thought they were fantastic. S2 improves on S1 in every way. All the girls are friends already so there's no waiting for your best girl to join the crew, and for the most part I thought screentime was pretty even amongst the girls that aren't Honoka, Umi, and Kotori, and even then those three don't overtake all the time. Most of the drama still isn't very good, but it's not awful, and having all the girls around makes everything a bit more lighthearted. The CG is definitely improved. All around it's just better.

Also the reactions are priceless throughout the entire thing.
