I just want to say, I'm glad companies like AnimEigo and Discotek are still around.
I've loved the BubbleGum Crisis BD that AnimEigo funded through Kickstarter and am waiting on my copy of Otaku no Video and will be giving money to their Riding Bean campaign once they get it going.
I like using new technology like Kickstarter to do more efficiently what AnimEigo did in the 90s.
It's getting notice, too. They hired Sonoda to do some art for the campaign for BGC and he did even more art and a mini-manga when they got around to Otaku no Video. Also, Gainax opened up its old offices and dug out a bunch of goodies to give to AnimEigo to give to its backers. I was sad that I was too late to get any original Gianax OnV posters.
I also love that Discotek is still around, not big, but they're often able to grab the rights to obscure and older titles that have fallen through the cracks that Funi was too good for.

Step 1: Fix the website.
Step 2: Stop wasting money on dubs no one wants. Release subs and if it gets popular offer a dub upgrade.

Let's say for the moment that you're right, and Star Wars: TFA is specifically trying to push an agenda. Sure, that sucks, whatever. But the anime in question was made with no such agenda, and was altered after the fact in order to do so. That alteration is what we're objecting to, not necessarily to the pushing of agendas itself.

TFA is a cake with chocolate frosting. The anime was a cake with vanilla frosting, but someone came and scraped some of it off and added some chocolate to it. We're not objecting necessarily to people making chocolate cake, we're objecting to people altering our vanilla cake.
