Maybe i just like seeing actual fighting and fencing with nice choreography instead of shouting out attacks. While at the beginning lot's of shounen have interesting fights, later it often fails into attack, talking attack, talking scheme. And fight in Gintama often looks as both opponents are on pair, or the current villain is dominating for most of time, it's not situation seeing too often in other series where one side mop the floor with another and the situation reverse.

Those clones aren't even legit "technique", it's something that wouldn't work for anyone except "Cyclop guy"

I remember some fights being longer than one episode and still looking well (Hosen battle). But fights in Gintama being short is another positive. Too long fights almost always feels stretched out. And you just want those fights to end so the plot can go on.

I wish Gintama would move from serious arcs to the comedic slice of life that it was

I could have missed Gintama because of my lazyness and it's one of the rare anime I do not regret picking up till the end

It was short in the manga too. The focus was on Takasugi and Gintoki's fight for a while before it returns to Kagura and Kamui.

Episodes 303 and 304, each one, had scenes from 4 chapters (not fully though). 304 ends by chapter 517, the arc ends with chapter 524 in the manga, so they could actually finish this arc in two episodes if they keep this pace.

-all the shit the other anons said about minimal shitposting and lack of dirty casuls and elitists (who AREN'T the Mimiwarigumi)

-unless you've watched the entire, or at least 80% of the episodes if the show, the fights won't have the emotional impact. Comedic shows with sprinkles of humor like this, and I speak mainly for myself but i'm sure i'm not alone, make you invest more emotionally with the characters because they brought you laughter. When main character is always at the top of the popularity charts, you know you're doing it right, and Gintoki has always been #1 from what I remember.

This is my favorite episode of anime in a very long time, an amount measured in years and next episode should only going to be better, even if we do know what's about to happen. I would expect a larger reaction to the next episode or two.

While it would be cool if it got a bigger reaction, I enjoyed it and that's what I wanted from the episode.

The whole background to the plot with the ninjas and the knowledge that this isn't final boss time means that it just feels like a skirmish where the result is obvious and nothing is actually on the line which is keeping me dehyped. The fights themselves keep cutting away every 30 seconds which breaks up the tension.

Plus the flashbacks, while interesting, haven't got to the point where things really start getting exciting yet.

I haven't read the manga so I could be horribly wrong with my assumptions about what's going to happen but I doubt it.

Sometimes I get distracted during serious arcs when I try to think about Gintoki using a wooden sword and stabbing slashing people with it. They play it fast and loose with how he hits people with it.

I also fucking hate Takasugi and Kamui. They are so boring as villains.
