AOTY is just one day away
KyoAni released some video with the cast
They'll do what they always do
Find a way
>start of the season
>still in year's end vacation
>literally only other 2 anime out
Damn, the shitposting on tomorrow's thread will be off the charts.
Last season fucking Lance N' Masks first episodes threads were so fucking full with shitposting and basically nobody gave a shit about it but shitposters gotta find a nest before the flavor of the season appears and with the usual shit KyoAni shows get it will be crazy.
>koito accidentally goes into the boys room to change
>MC-kun comes in and sees her from behind, thinking she's a boy
>still notes that she has a good ass
>no homo, it's only because i'm an artist
>she turns around
>he quickly tries to muffle her screams as he desperately tries to explain that she went into the wrong room
They better have loaded up the budget for that ass and dfc.
Don't read the manga/LN so I don't give a shit. Mai a best.
>you lived long enough to see the renaissance of minigirl vore doujins
Can't top this Anon. I could watch this gif all day.
Holy fuck Saori seems so shy and her voice is so low.
God damn what a beauty.
They've already shown more blatant jiggle than the entirety of Amaburi.
It had comedy, it was just a really formulaic LN that schizophrenically jumped between lighthearted and fun SoL school shenanigans and overblown melodramatic 'action' arcs with virtually no humour.
The humour and 'day off' parts were decent enough, but it was let down big time by the really weak plot that only served to intrude on an otherwise solid cast dynamic without really strengthening it.
Is this new show supposed to be an LN adaptation? If it is, then I wouldn't get any hopes up, but otherwise it might have potential.
KyoAni usually does LN "adaptations" that basically consist on taking elements from the original work and doing their own thing (adding new characters, changing designs and story plots) so it's more like an hybrid between an adaptation and an original work.
And when it comes to action series, their original writing has generally been pretty bad. Maybe not as bad as the original, but still glaringly inferior to their drama and slice of life writing.
There were some pretty significant changes to AmaBuri, like Latifah being able to see and all the fairies being in from the start. And less arson.
>And less arson.
Wait, arson? Who burned what? The fairies were obviously included for fanservice I guess Kyoani couldn't handle her being blind though. Doesn't give me hope for the Koe adaptation. They don't generally do bullying at all. I wonder how it'll turn out.
Apparently, it was the original author who regretted making her blind and wanted to change it in the adaptation as a way of apologizing to her.
The arson was Kanye burning down the stadium where the football match was going to be held in order to force them to use the park's stadium.
Fairies were just fitting fanservice, but still a good decision.
I didn't think Kanye had it in him. I can understand the Latifah thing. Having her blind would make it near impossible to include her in 90% of the story.
The names were intentional and not just 4chan's doing, right? Who was everyone again? Kanye, and Latifah are obvious.
>The arson was Kanye burning down the stadium where the football match was going to be held in order to force them to use the park's stadium.
God damn Kanye.
KyoAni does this only for their own LNs, this is because they basically admitted "they're not very good" when they gave them a honorable mention and not a grand prize, even if there wasn't a grand prize winner, so they try to improve it by making major changes to the source. When the source material isn't theirs (everything before Chuu2, plus Amagi), they stick to the source material and only change minor things that are needed for a good adaption (changed some locations in Hyouka, introduced some characters in different order in Nichijou, etc). With Hibike, they liked the novel so they bought the rights to animated, and there was no need to alter it. VEG will probably also be mostly unchanged, since it did win a grand prize.
Yes, they were intentional.
What do you by "Their own LNs" They actually buy them? They aren't a publisher that I know of. How would they have anything more then animation rights to anything they work on?
Wait, which one is chris tucker?
The evil wizard who did nothing wrong.
>ruining Reina's perflat
Kanye only burned down the maintenance room (or whatever room it is) ,even then Moffle is the one finishing his job.
Except for final 200 guests, the rest is pretty much the same.
you forgot ice cube
they are a publisher, they have the KA (Kyoto Animation) Esuma Bunko, their novels include Chuu2, High Speed, Tamako Market novelize version, KnK, Phantom World, Coppelia, Yuuyake something, etc.
Last chance pre-air girl rating go!
Black > Red > Yellow > Fairy
>Doing what needed to be done apparently. LN version seems much more badass.
Last yeah Gatoh mentioned that he came up with a MUCH better ending to that arc, but only a long time after the volume was already published. So he can't retcon it. But he wanted us to know that he could had done better.
>Myriad Colors Phantom World will be available to Crunchyroll members worldwide except for Asia, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Lichtenstein, Luxembourg, and Aldo Adige.
Explain this, Kyonifags
Seriously, explain it. We get bare asses in shows like Amagi but they still wont do pantyshots?
I guess ep 1 and the limbo scene will decide how "generic" it is. Really though, the source material is not an indicator because KyoAni's going to change a lot of it like they did with their other LNs (Chuu2 was a love triangle in the source and look what they made from it). I'm completely serious with what I'm going to say: KyoAni is very unlikely to make a "generic" anime in the literal sense of the word. They've shown that they avoid the typical cliched scenes every anime does and tries to make their works unique in any way they can without losing the charm. You could say Chuu2 looked very generic at first, and people who haven't watched it probably still think it is, but once you watch it you see that it does things you'd never seen before in anime. It's almost as if they sit around a table and ask "how can we make this show more unique and unlike typical works?" when deciding how to adapt things. Maybe not plot-wise, but certainly in atmosphere, charm, humor, execution, and scene development in general.
>he doesn't know about the Kyoani magic skirts
It's not like KyoAni hasn't done it before.
Yes, and so did Amagi. However, this doesn't make it a "generic" anime. Just because there's a typical situation, doesn't mean they handle it the typical way. They already changed it up in Amagi, having Kanye shut the door closed immediately and basically the characters reacting in a natural way instead of the typical "MC stares embarrased, girl beats him up", even the source material went kinda that way.
The way that scene goes in this novel is already different that the typical. Instead of the MC being embarrassed and Koito hitting him, the MC is 'mirin her booty and when they both notice the situation, he rushes to explain to her before she can make a scene out of it.
That's why you don't know what "generic" means.
Anime is a pure medium that does not allow for that kind of lewdity.
I dont get it, why are you claiming that walking in on a girl changing isn't an overused cliche in anime, or even romantic comedy in general?
It's been done for hundreds of years. Just enjoy it for what it is instead of getting insecure of other people laughing about it.
I'm not saying it's not an overused scenario, I'm saying that just because it's present doesn't mean it's going to be the same as other shows do it. Generic doesn't mean "looks like every other show", it means "brings nothing new to the table" or "doesn't do anything different than the rest", so if they switch it up it's then by definition not generic. I'll give an example that might trigger some idiots over here, but take OPM, or any parody really. It has similar tropes and plotpoints to battle shounen or similar action anime, but one wouldn't say OPM is generic at all, because it switches things up so much to the point that it's mocking the generic shows, and not being one itself. That's how Phantom World can have common scenes in premise, and still not be generic. I'm not saying it's a parody and I'm not saying it's 100% unique, I'm saying you're stupid for throwing that word around without knowing its meaning.
As far as I know, just the swallowing.
Are we going to livewatch it guys?
I haven't livewatched a series with /a/ in a long time
I haven't watched anything in a couple of seasons, so I have no idea if any of the old sites I knew still work or not
I wonder how many of these type of images Reina is going to get
Remember to bring your toast, we're getting up early for once
What the hell is 50cent even holding?
Who is icecube?
I guess they get to do whatever they feel like doing if they publish the novel. It seems like Amaburi was pretty in line with what the creator wanted though.
>Who is icecube?
>keep adding moles and add one on her thigh too
I hope Yamada finds time in her busy schedule to help with Phantom World
the circumstances that literally everyone else around her is named after a rapper/black I mean and her name is also close to Usher
Not everyone. just those 5 isn't it? There are a ton of characters not named after rappers. I'm unsure of the japanese pronunciation of usher, but I can't see it being close to ashe.
Well, no actually. Usher is pronounced Asshaa, but it's still really close to Ashe (this is if you take how a Japanese person would pronounce Asshaa and Ashe, not subhumans). Same way Takaya isn't the same as Tucker, but it's still a reference to Chris Tucker.
Amateur translation but here I go.
"A high school student that fights phantoms everyday, Ichijou Haruhiko, teams up with his senior, Kawkami Mai, to exterminate phantoms. However, with Mai's recklessness and Haruhiko's nonexistent reflexes, their team record isn't favorable. They're picked on and called "Hopeless Team" in banter.
Somehow, in the process of looking for new members to make his team stronger, Haruhiko meets the "Phantom Eater", Izumi Reina. He invited the girl with the powerful ability to the team but..."
>Stream begins 1/6 at 9:30am PST
Here, you lazy ass faggots.
Of course, HS will fuck up ripping the stream like they usually do, so you'll be left waiting.
>getting excited for this generic LN haremshit
>not getting excited for pic related
Just shows what kind of cancer KyoAnifags are. Even going as far to say this won't be your flavor of the day generic shit because apparently KyoAni are godtier writers.
>a show that isn't of his liking has a thread
>feels the need to have every thread be about what he likes
>proceeds to shitpost in it and brings up his bullshit
Just shows what kind of cancer you are
>He thinks we watch Kyoani for the writing.
>implying you should only watch a show just for the visuals and fuck the writing
That logic is idiotic as fuck. That's like eating a burger without the bread. Having good writing is the most significant and essential part of a show. Without that basically watching trash and proving to yourself that you have shittaste pleb.
a.) We really don't know how those will turn out
b.) You can watch and like different types of shows at the same time
c.) KyoAni threads are full of bored people exaggerating for the fun of it
Nah senpai, there's a reason it's called "anime." The visuals are the defining feature of the work. Writing is important too, but the script usually need not be any better than competent in most cases to get a good show.
Not that anon, but wow he never said that you should only watch a show for the visuals also there's nothing wrong with enjoying a cartoon because it looks pretty even if it has a dumb story, especially when you're talking about anime, because honestly tell me how often comes a show with "good" writing? The only problem is that you're a /v/ shitposter (easy to spot since because of the amount of buzzwords you use) that can't enjoy anything unless it meets retarded expectations that this kind of medium don't aims to fulfill
and burgers without bread are fucking delicious..
I didn't think all you faggots have low standards in not wanting good writing.
No wonder the anime industry is milking the living shit out of garbage LN shit like the one KyoAni is adapting.
>it's just not terribly important to making a good show.
Not edgelord shitposter-kun but you're wrong buddy, strictly speaking writing is very important for a show doesn't matter how you see it, not that I care since I only watch anime as escapism so if it entertains me I won't give a shit about the writing or whatsoever but if it's full of quality it just becomes unbearable.
>boku dake machi
>literal kek show
those threads are going to be fun
Sorry, you're right. I should clarify.
A show with decent writing and good visuals has the potential to be a really good show. Even a show with subpar writing and good visuals will be watchable at worst.
A show with shit visuals is almost never worth watching. Unless the writing is utterly stellar and the experience simply cannot be found elsewhere, there's no point.
At any rate, this is getting away from the point I was trying to make in the first place, which is that Kyoani fans tend to be much more interested in Kyoani's visual abilities than they are in their writing skills.
Importance of writing quality is relative to how serious or not the work is and what its intentions on the audience are.
If you found a huge plot hole in a comedy like Dumb and Dumber or something, no one would give too much of a shit and you'd just look like a fucking autist for sperging out over it because you're missing the point of the movie.
On the other hand if you found one in say some Spielberg movie where everyone went in with their most solemn serious-faces on and expected an intellectual cathartic journey, then people might get agree that it seriously undermined the whole thing.
You're seriously trying to apply the writing card to a show that has not aired yet that is about hot high school girls fighting phantoms that the studio directly bills as a comedy. Which one do you think you look like right now?
>which is that Kyoani fans tend to be much more interested in Kyoani's visual abilities than they are in their writing skills
Yeah, pretty much. I still dropped KnK because it was utterly garbage though.
Intro to the setting/chars .. possibly pretty boring; it really depends how much time they want to spend world/char building over the long term (which would be a slow and infodump-y episode), or if they want to use instant-action / humor to distract people from bothering to analyze it (aka Marvel hero movie strategy).
Then again I could be wrong, ep1s can actually build hype instantly. For example everyone unironically was saying Sasami-san was AOTS/Y from its ep1 and it couldn't sustain that hype at all.
Well, it's not a burger but at Subway you actually can eat without the bread.
>being hype for dake machi
>this season's subete ga F ni naru
I advise you to expect nothing
>possibly pretty boring
and on the very first episode too
CR and Chihiro.
I was kind of hoping CR wouldn't pick it up so that everyone would get the new episode at the same time like with Amagi, but I guess this way the shitposting will have died down a bit by the time I watch it.
>mfw I recognized Sumire and Uchida on sight
I feel like I'm slowly becoming a weeb.
The LN is average as hell. What we're relying on is KyoAni's tendency to turn shit into gold.
K-ON! and Lucky Star both started out as 4-koma.
And the author of Chuunibyou liked Kumin Tsuyuri so much that she was later introduced in a post-anime LN.
did you watch Chuu2? Phantom World's seiyuu cast is basically musical chairs
Where is the fucking Phantom World Goldblum anyway? Do we just not know what to put on him yet?
At this point it's starting to look like simply two moles, but I guess we'll know after the ep.
>Where is the fucking Phantom World Goldblum anyway? Do we just not know what to put on him yet?
It is probably better to watch a few episodes first. We need to know what the anime is really going to be about. KyoAni adverts are not very reliable.
I expect the twist on episode 3 or 5 actually.
I wouldn't be surprised at a Madoka/Gurashi level twist actually
He has it on while swimming so it's probably a mole. Plus Mochi is too pure to wear earings.
Only Yellow, because leg jokes. It stops once he grows hair.
do we have any estimations if the anime will cover more volumes as it usually happens or not?
sheesh, I didn't plan on watching any ecchi battle harems this season but the animation looks good. plus, I need a wednesday show and sushi doesn't seem like it'll get any subs
yeah i'm ready to shitpost with full of my heart content
Remember to make some toast while you watch Koitoasto
>which is not expected to happen in the anime and is much longer down the road I take it?
So far, EVERY single KyoAni in-house adaptation had been given a sequel. At least one film and/or a TV series. So it is practically guaranteed there would be a sequel. Whether it would have anything to do with the novel plot is another matter entirely.
It feels like the stream changes every couple of months. I'm completely clueless as well.
Supposedly this illusion doesn't work as well on primitive tribespeople who are not used to living around lots of straight and angular vertices unlike modern urbanized humans.
Having great tits won't stop her from being a bitch.
>haremshit LN adaptation
You retards need to die.
Garbage like this is the main reason why fujoshit anime outsells everything else these days.
Harem trash is killing anime.
She's the perfect tsun though.
Are you going to be doing this all day Kyoani hate Anon?
>We will have months of shitposting about that boob bouncing
