Unless I'm mistaken, Shirobako was excluded as being a 2014 show. The problem is this is false. It aired this year in the same season as other candidates. It's the 2015 AOTY, OPM is 2nd then Euphonium comes after.

Some rhetorical questions to prove it's legitimacy:
If it had been 4-cours like it had been planned at one stage, and was airing for 9 months this year, would it still be ineligible?
If Sazae-san had a particularly good year and was the best thing airing in 2015 would it retroactively become the 1969 AOTY?

Whatever rules you personally decide to apply is arbitrary so there's no reason to bother thinking about it. Just go by when it aired. The position of the Earth around the sun that demarcates the start of a new year is arbitrary in the first place.

Kyoanifags are a permanent blight on the board that never ebbs, even when nothing is airing. The awfulness of OPM threads will diminish in time once the dipshits return to their boards/websites but the Kyoanifags and /u/ will still be here.

Without contest, this years AOTS is with absolute maximum of points - Detective Conan. No other show is even near it in fun, story, characters and directon.

But since Conan is AOTS every S, i guess we let the other contesters take the highlight for once, and then yeah - Hibike would be the most deserving.

So is it ok now to say you dislike OPM without a massive amount of OPM-Fags jumping down your throat?

I seriously don't get how people can like it that much. It's ok, but how did it ever get this 'best anime ever' status?

Reasons I see why people would like it:
>Great animation
>While not very interesting, characters are at least written to be likeable
>It reminds them of stuff like Dragon Ball Z, which they loved as kids
>While at the same time lampshading all the silly things about Dragon Ball Z, which makes them go: "Ah man yeah that was always so silly during Dragon Ball Z!"

Yet I didn't enjoy watching it at all. It was just so boring. Basically the premise spoils the entire joke and it gets so incredibly predictable and repetitive, for example:
>when Saitama was about to reveal his secret, you just knew it was going to be something silly, which will disappoint the others and make them react in a silly way.
>When Saitama was monologuing about how me made a mistake, while getting his ass kicked, you knew it was just to trick the viewer into thinking 'Oh no!', which will later turn out to be something very silly. Even worse, in this case you knew exactly what it was going to be, which was the sale.
Once you know what the joke is going to be it just gets stupid and boring. I'm not sure if it's just me, but once I knew what type of joke it is going to be, I felt zero anticipation about the actual joke. After it was actually spelled out it was more along the lines of 'Yeah, sure', when the intention of the author was obviously to make the viewer laugh.
Of course humor is subjective, but despite having gore I felt like you actually have to be a minor or huge Dragon Ball fan (or similar stuff) to find it funny.

And what's with that 'You only dislike it because of reddit' bullshit? It's just not funny. I know I'm gonna trigger a lot of people, but it's close to Family Guy tier humor, only that Family Guy is less predictable because of its 'oh so random' humor.

As much as I like Koyani, Hibikek was boring with absolutely nothing going for it and this is coming from someone who had really enjoyed Hyouka, a show many on /a/ deem as boring. Even the cute girls weren't doing cute things most of the time. Instead it was a bunch of lazy assholes bitching about not getting better. Asuka was the only thing that had fun moments in the show.

OPM wasn't anything special either but it least it was more fun to watch.
