A traumatic experience. I did not enjoy it. It just showed me how fucked up anime can be and how negative and evil the good guys can be. His dad was evil to such an extent. It's just depressing, confusing and you can literally feel the world coming to an end with every episode.
Fighting scenes looked cool, but the plot was a mess. Something about depression, being unable to open up and aliens who just happen to have human hunting as hobby. Also, Kaoru was the moment when all suspension of disbelief went down garbage chute. Ending - I didn't care by that point, it was pretty evident that writers wouldn't be able to make even a decent one.
>>135666476 It was a life changing experience. It made me feel vulnerable; I saw my weaknesses in most of the characters and was forced to confront them all. It was, to tell the truth, a little frightening. The series started off somewhat light hearted and ended on a contemplative/upbeat note but toward the end it just began to tumble down into the darkness and then off came the band-aid.
Honestly, to sum it up, it made me feel vulnerable but also to have the courage to face my insecurities and in the end, the world is what you make of it.
I like it. Shit's fun, gives people stuff to banter about in regards to theories, plenty of cool art, some decent merch. Didn't change me, just opened up more doors to neat stuff. >Concept Asuka is a cute
>>135672976 Truth be told, I like Rebuild. Evangelion, in general, is just a pretty neat piece of fiction in my eyes. Here's a gift. A fuck ton of EVA artbooks, key frames and concept sketches etc http://www.mediafire.com/folder/17axpf4d7k05u/artbooks#qnoqox22iig0d
>>135666476 Reposting since we practitcally just had this thread recently and I might as well make it pasta.
Nope, only normalfags really "turn their lives around" because of something like Eva. Or those who settle for nonanswers and platitudes, avariciously gobbling up anything that seems intelligent to herald as the thing that saved them etc.
Take >>135336350 for example. A failed normalfag. Gives a fuck about normalfag expectations and high in vanity. Admits to being a normalfag.
Truth being OP, if you actually are depressed and not just having meme depression, I mean shit like overwhelming ennui, suicideal ideation for long periods of time, dysthymia etc, if you are genuinely experiencing those nothing will save you. Not be to a pessimist it's just there's a reason suicide rates drop suddenly past the age of 30. Here's a hint, people don't magically start turning their lives around.
You're fucked, I'm fucked, we're all fucked, it's just some are able to ignore it or trick themselves a bit better for longer periods of time. Depression and suicidal thoughts are perfectly natural responses to this current "reality" as it is. I wouldn't worry about trying to procure meaning, you're just going to continually disappoint yourself.
I felt really attached to the characters even if most of them were pieces of shit, they felt really human, and i could somewhat understand Shinji's feelings and relate to them. yeah it was a good movie
>>135666476 honestly made me stop watching anime all the time. Really opened my eyes to how plain time consuming and pointless it all is. I mean, i dont mind sitting down and maybe watching a Japanese movie and maybe a little casual watch of a series but i'm not gonna sit down and binge the fuck out of some new show. Most anime is just stupid and Juvenal.
