That stupid bitch ruined the movie, it was genuinely 10/10 until she showed up again, 5 minutes later they are engaged. My mom and I were both confused at that part. It had a beautiful ending though. Not my favorite Miyazaki but still a very enjoyable watch, more so because the interest period does not get a lot of attention in anime

Kiki's is still my favorite Ghibli for the comfy factor alone. Howl's had a great atmosphere, too.
And while his movies may not have the most interesting stories at least they all look pretty.

Wrong director aside Kaguya is also my favorite Ghibli film.

My favourite anime film ever to be honest family, I know the romance stuff was a bit haphazard and it didn't really go into Japanese war crimes enough but honestly I thought it was fucking beautiful and it made me cry. I think /a/ plebs don't really like it because Miyazaki is relatively mainstream and they dislike anime that is from outside of their secret club that doesn't pander to their sensibilities.

in its lack of spectacle I feel like it conveys a high school romance far more honestly than I'm used to, like, despite being mundane as hell it's charming and relatable
it's a slow burner for sure, but I really like that kinda "playing it straight" execution with a good attention to detail, feels very elegant
