What if the coffins are reminders how many times Kaworu has to convince Shinji to accept instrumentality, think of it as a sort of Groundhog Day type thing, events from previous times are carried over but only subtlety and maybe this is why Shinji sees a mirage of Rei in the early episodes.
So like, I have a couple questions for the eva pros.
1) Where do the angels come from? Not in the sense of "from god" or whatever, but like... when you see them approaching the city and they're just now showing up on the scanners for the first time, where are they en route FROM? Do they just materialize out of thin air or are they hiding underground/camouflaged? Like when Ramiel shows up, it just shows him floating up from over the horizon. Surely someone else would have seen him and said something?
2) What actually caused second impact? I've read that it's because humans were "sinning" too much i.e. war, creating clones, treading on god's territory, etc.
Have a facesitting Asuka for your troubles.
1. The angels were here before us Lilin. They're scattered all around the world and finally finish growing and wake up in 2015 when Shinji first arrives to Tokyo-3. They all head towards Lilith in Japan via air, water, who knows.
2. Second impact was caused by removing Adam's spear and putting him into direct contact with Lilin DNA; this caused the creation of Kaworu.
Nah, it's just him reviving. Probably.
Second Impact was the work of humans putting a stop to Adam coming back to life and destroying Earth as a habitable place for Lilith-based life. Adam came to life because of human interaction.
Angels were always there, but hidden like Adam and Sandalphon.
That's a definite point where he is no longer just human, but he was also able to bring Eva 01 back into the fight by himself, as well as giving it Angel lasers and a new arm out of its AT field.
So they were basically just dormant entities that were somehow never discovered wherever they were hibernating/hiding?
Also, in the early episodes (or maybe the rebuild movie I think), Gendo refers to their numbers as if he knows how many there are. Does he and/or NERV have existing knowledge of them? It very nearly seems like they're acknowledging their numbers based on more than just the order they appear.
And let's not forget how he turns into a Kaworu-Rei hybrid during that scene.
>So they were basically just dormant entities that were somehow never discovered wherever they were hibernating/hiding?
>Gendo refers to their numbers as if he knows how many there are. Does he and/or NERV have existing knowledge of them?
They have the Dead Sea Scrolls, which supposedly describes all the angels and more.
No he only has the seed of life.
I think your right because we have seen dummy plugs made from Kaworu.
All Lilin have the seed of knowledge, so Shinji was already born with it. He could've gotten the seed of life when Kaworu tanged him in EoE or during the 2.0 rescue scene. I'm betting on the former, because in that scene Fuyutsuki says he's become the equivalent to a FAR haven taken both fruits within.
whoops I thought you were talking about Kaworu not Shinji.
I think in EoE say that if Lilith and Adam combine they will make a god like being called the 3rd kind.
I swear it's Shinji and it also supports the weird theory of Shinji being "Eve".
I wonder who's behind all of these timeline shenanigans
>supports the weird theory of Shinji being "Eve".
it makes sense, shinji is the best girl after all
And here come the gays to destroy another thread
>Not wanting to motorboat Shinji's titties
Get a load of this faggot.
It's all yui's fault
This thread stared with Kaworu.
Also does anyone have any good photos of Shinji figures. It's hard to find any because he has less figures then Mari.
And the best resources I found for evas figures and products is I could find was from
For some reason in rebuild they say it was Gendo's and Shinji keeps it to remember his dad.
Re: "How does Gendo know how many angels there are?"
While he does know "everything" because of the dead sea scrolls, those scrolls were made before the seeds of life/moons were ever sent off. Adam could have made less than 16 angels or even more. If the dead sea scrolls say "adam will create 16 angels" that's one thing I suppose, but I doubt it.
The dead sea scrolls also that human race will descend into chaos after 2015.
The scrolls start everything that could happen.
>so they were probably programmed
I wouldn't say programmed, just fueled by pure instinct rather than rational thought. Their desire to find Adam falls right into the theme of wanting to return to the mother's womb. Just like the pilot children, the angels are just confused children who want to be with their mother as well.
No, definitely children.
Shinji will die.
But his soul will chose to go back in time, the the time when he was happiest, and he will be at season 1 first episode.
Rei who loves Shinji want to be with him too and want to be in a time when Shinji'd love her, but since he already loves Asuka she'll go back in time before Shinji is born, and became his mother.
He's some seed called Eve if the Anima connections end up being true. It's a high chance that the will, since Anima also made Shinji an impact trigger who was capable of merging with eva and using it as his secondary body. Like how Kaworu can control Adam-based evas with free will.
The other reason why I believe the Eve theory is in the bible Eve is Adams second wife. Shinji always falling for Kaworu seems like its fate our something cosmic.
Meanwhile, Asuka is just a byproduct to be set aside while Shinji, Kaworu and Rei are changing everything on Earth.
Sorry to disappoint but this is how 3.0+1.0 will end:
>FAR return, mad as hell
>Inform humanity that this failed experiment has ended
>Unleash a horde of monstrosities that makes the original Angels look like narcoleptic rabbits
>Shinji in a reconstituted Unit 01 and Gendo
in his super Evaare launched into space to fight the oncoming force
>Final gesture appears futile
>Fade to white
>Cut to Noriko and Kazumi returning to Earth
>A white and indistinct but clearly massive ship appears suddenly looms over the horizon
>A booming female voice informs them that the Earth needs them one final time
>Flick through similar scenes in every Gainax production that Anno ever had a hand in
>Return to Shinji and Gendo vainly trying to defend the Earth against massive odds
>The same ship looms out of the inky blackness, more clearly this time
It's the DAICON
DAICON girlflies out, followed by a multitude of heroes and anti-heroes
>80s synth pop plays
Just on the border of your waking mind...
>5 minutes of eye melting fighting (the whole thing animated on ones) follow
>Cut to live action
>Anno, sitting on a stage, on a folding chair, slowly rises
>Takes a stiff bow
>Extends his arm
>Drops the microphone
>Exits stage left
She has the same hair color as Mari. Coincidence? I think not
Wrong eye color, also, Mari wishes she has a chest this full
That suit is so tight that her boobs wouldn't bounce like that.
Not bad at all. Everyone expects Rebuild to be a "sequel"
People are going to pissed when the movie ends with footage ripped straight from episode 26. It's the ultimate troll move.
Ok then could I get a link then?
But muscle bounce even less.
In truth Rebuild's Shinji was never human to begin with. His entire human life is a lie and a facade.
The evidence for this is exists as early as the first movie.
Gendo says that wants Shinji and Rei to bond with each other as early as 15 years prior so that he can fulfill his plans for the future. In 2.0 we learn that he wanted them to bond in order to trigger an impact on the account of Rei being in serious danger.
Secondly, Kaworu is aware of Shinji's inhuman nature and can even sense the beginnings of his awakening process being triggered. After he wakes up from his coffin at the end of 1.0, he says that Shinji has awakened. Seele responds by saying that this was normal procedure and going as planned as predicted in the Dead Sea Scrolls.
A conformation from the Dead Sea Scrolls, an angel being able to sense his awakening process from afar and even having an awakening process to begin with are dead giveaways of inhuman origins. It doesn't get anymore blatant than that.
Regarding Rei and Shinji, it's incredibly important to the "core" of Rebuild's mysteries and narrative. After weeks of on-and-off intense analysis and rewatches. I've come to the conclusion that Anno is actually switching Rei/Yui and Shinji's parental roles to the extent that Shinji is now acting as the metaphorical (or perhaps even literal biological seed) parent/mother to Rei in some way. I'm not sure how it'll tie into the loop theories if it's true (and if Rebuild is actually a prequel to NGE or belonging to its own loops,) but the evidence for it is surprisingly overwhelming.
It sounds absolutely insane but I'm very certain that they are possibly attempting to set him up as some sort of female-like/maternal-like diety, hence the aforementioned "Eve" claims thanks to Anima - something that Anno also lightly discussed and oversaw with its author. If it ends up being true, then the controversy and frustration surrounding Final is going to be unbelievable.
>Why do you hate it?
Figure it out, your god dam self, there is an archive for a reason.
the only ones that like this abomination, are the ones who are getting pander to the most.
Thank you so much.
Trying to make my own figure because I got upset when I found out I couldn't order the room freshener Shinji .So just making my own to hold my incense sticks.
>Wanting me to crawl through the archive looking for some obscure and old as shit thread instead of simply explaining the problem.
Yeah, that's reasonable. Also, I don't feel the Rebuilds are a proper follow up to NGE, but I don't think anything could have done it justice. I just don't see why someone would hate the sequel theory. It certainly makes the most sense.
No problem. Check out the buyfag thread's guide if you want to start buying stuff. Read it thoroughly, though, or they'll get mad when you ask a question that's already been answered in there. Good luck with that figure.
To put it lightly he's more than halfway there. If the Animator Expo shorts are anything to take a clue from, then he isn't backing down from this potential outcome any time soon.
Okay then. I could post the evidence and you can ignore it or leave it your own interpretations if you'd like. I didn't take it very well once all of the pieces started coming together in my head either.
Funny thing is I don't have the money for figures but I have all the stuff to make my own sculpts.
Gonna dump some figure images.
Did you write this theory?
Anon, the sequel concept, not the theory or hypothesis as it is right now with Rebuild is bad.
NGE finished back in the 90's, and it's themes, message and characters all gained their gravitas from the fact that everything was final and had consequences. When something happened, it happened and BAM, that was that, no redos, no magic fairy promising to meet you again or the idea that it will all be reset anyway.
As it stands, Rebuild and the sequel nonsense stands to cripple that very important aspect of the story. Rather, it's already happened.
By making it a sequel, and having Rebuild be what it is with all these changes it has done to characters and the story will undermine several of the Evangelion characters and the quality of their characters.
What's left to consider of Evangelion is purely it's pandering value, which is why you get idiots like >>121066204
posting nonsense not because it makes sense or would somehow add to the story, but because it caters to a particular fetish he has or something he would simply like to be true, regardless of how shallow it is.
Confirming the sequel theory more deeply will just exacerbate this situation.
Wow I never noticed that he had red eyes in that frame.
He was saving Rei from an angel, not doing the horizontal mambo.
No, though I was the one who theorized the the wire tapping implications/decoy SDATs between Kaworu and Mari, and how the two of them might have some connection to Kaji in some way.
Where is that image from it never showed up in the movies and I can't find in pachinko screen caps.
>No, though I was the one who theorized the the wire tapping implications/decoy SDATs between Kaworu and Mari, and how the two of them might have some connection to Kaji in some way.
I thought this was obvious.
>Wow I never noticed that he had red eyes in that frame.
Neither of them make sense you idiot.
Both of those theories are written by one type of person, a person who isn't out to find answers or make sense out of something, but one interested in pushing his own fandom agenda, often shipper related.
It's based on taking everything so far out of context and hooking together so many different stories that all contradict eachother that these theories could only have been the work of someone extremely delusional or soft in the head.
Then there is the more obvious idiocy that doesn't take into consideration how retarded the theory is to begin with:
how horrible it would be for the story if these theories were at all true. These people don't notice how much it'd hurt the integrity of the story by either reducing it to shipper nonsense or fetish nonsense because they want that exact bullcrap.
>Both of those theories are written by one type of person, a person who isn't out to find answers or make sense out of something, but one interested in pushing his own fandom agenda, often shipper related.
But this theory
wasn't mine at all.
It borrows some analysis from one of my other theories, (namely top-half of the stuff being discussed in the center post) but that's about it.
Ok. I can understand why that would bother someone.
Let me try to break this down a bit more, and correct me if I'm missing the mark. The Rebuilds obfuscate what Eva was really about. NGE was a psychological exploration of a number of deeply broken characters, with some convoluted plot in the background that, ultimately, had little to no influence on the larger themes and developments at play.
The Rebuilds, rather, encourage wild, pointless theorizing and ship/waifufaggotry without offering anything particularly meaningful or important. It loses sight of what made EVA good in the first place and instead focuses on the most confusing, ridiculous, and pointless aspects of the series.
Moreover, by connecting the two, NGE is retroactively contaminated. This makes NGE worse in retrospect, as it now has to be viewed alongside the now also canon Rebuilds.
Actually, I get this. I think I agree with you more now, assuming this is what you were getting at.
>...maybe this is why Shinji sees a mirage of Rei in the early episodes.
This "mirage" in the original series was actually Big Rei when she became a God
She showed up in the first episode to imply that this is where things begin.
If we know this, then it's not far-fetched to assume that if this same thing occurs in Rebuilt, then Rei will have a reason to have done so, possibly hinting at a reoccurrence of Big Rei
You're mostly spot on. It's not only the retroactive contamination that's the issue, but also that Rebuild will now fail to stand on it's own legs, which it had perfect opportunity to.
Then there more you understand Rebuild as well as the community and mode of thought that surrounds it, then you'll also see that it's not just an unintentional obfuscation brought on by poor writing choices - it's all intentional, or at least guided by motivations that are not in the work's best intentions.
That's not how it works. The theory he presents is inane rubbish which he can't prove or show evidence for himself. It doesn't work that way, he needs to show something that requires or is possible to debunk. Making a claim is something anyone can do.
I've already debunked both just by mentioning that he's drawing from sources that contradict each other. He is picking and choosing things that he likes, ignores those that he doesn't, which means his "theory" is fundamentally rubbish bullshit.
The fact that you can't see how retarded his "theory" is and instantly dismiss it as bullshit shows that there's something wrong with you.
Sorry I just don't remember that, but I was talking at the same time.
I just can't find anything on this garage kit.
Time for some bootlags.
On the thread topic
I think its the same world from EoE but every time Shinji rejects instrumentality the world restarts but everything and everyone that has ever lived repeats their life,so some form of reincarnation.
But Adam still remembers but Lilith seems to keep losing part of her memory;
To be honest I would need to write an essay or two in order to explain it in full detail, but this is 4chan and I'm too tired to overboard, so I'll try to sum it up with a few posts as best as I can.
The first clue to the importance behind Shinji and Rei's relationship is at the very beginning of 1.0, around the time that Shinji meets his father and is told to pilot the Eva over a severely injured Rei. In NGE, the first clue we get behind the eva unit 1 - Yui connection is when the Eva move its arm to protect Shinji from falling debris. Gendo smiles at the results and this sets up the start of the Shinji - unit 01/mother themes through the show.
In Rebuild, the falling debris never occurs, so unit 01 never moves it's arm to protect Shinji. However, Gendo does smile at the prospect of Shinji rushing over to protect an injured Rei who's fallen out of her hospital gourney, signifying that the overarching plot behind behind Rebuild was gong to inter into very rough, new and unusual territory from NGE's.
Shinji's protection and care over Rei is deeply connected to his awakening process. The very first instance of this is at the end of 1.0; Kaworu emerges from coffin and claims that Shinji has awakened. Keep in mind this accours right after he checks on Rei's well-being after the fight with Ramiel back on earth. He then awakens again (and becomes a trigger in the process) to save Rei from Zeruel in 2.0. Ritsuko and Misato's statements make it clear that Shinji is acting on his own when it occurs, and that his mother isn't the one who's making these awakenings happen.
Besides awakening whenever Rei is in serious danger, he gains other weird powers and traits, such as red eyes, the ability to completely merge himself with the controlled eva, and later receiving a telepathic distress call from her in 3.0.
Getting fussed about canon is stupid when it concerns two properties made years apart from each other. It's like connecting the new Star Trek films with the original series just because the license owner authorized its production.
