Danmachi thread? The translator just finished up the volume 4 short story they were translating so we should start getting volume 5 soon.
Just how many LNs is it going to take?
The progress has been kinda slow. And I heard barely anything happens in volume 5 and that he's
still level 2 at the end of volume 6.
The author should realize that he is already 6 volumes in and that Aiz is still very, very far away.
Sure but Bell isn't an ordinary Level 2. At his current strength he could easily hang with top tier level 3 raiders if he was in a group. Since he's solo he's at least twice as strong as average level 2's. Lili and Welf both said something along the lines of "he's definitely not a normal level 2."
It took him 1 month to lvl up, a thing that it takes a normal adventurer such as naza 6 years and aizu an entire year which was the previous record holder. and 10 days to reach this
Strength: G267 Endurance: H144 Dexterity: G288 Agility: F375 Magic: H189
That is pretty op
most adventurers reach level 2 while in a 5-10 man party and it take them years to reach it. the monsters bell's been soloing usually are handled by groups instead of 1v1, it wouldn't be surprising if bell, power wise, is actually a high level 3 or low level 4.
>The translator just finished up the volume 4 short story they were translating so we should start getting volume 5 soon.
Wasn't the short story being done by a completely different translator?
The main translator has been dead for months
I will never understand readers like you.
You have a million other novels with a protagonist at maxed level that can squash people like bugs at the beginning, yet you still want this to the be same stupid shit that the others are doing. There is a reason why this sells while many other Narou fails.
>I heard barely anything happens in volume 5
You heard wrong.
>6 volumes in and that Aiz is still very, very far away.
Also wrong from Bell's perspective AND from Ais' perspective.
It's not like he's even translating nowadays. He has made no progress for ages despite always making up excuses.
I'm so glad I don't have to wait for translators' half-enthusiasm and inability to sort out their lives to push out mediocre translations once in a blue moon.
It makes some odd choices like using "kenki" as effectively a proper name instead of find-and-replace with sword princess.
It does not use Japanese honorifics.
I think the translation is good and will buy the next volume even though I don't like the vol 2 story.
Global Flash settings has to allow local storage.
People don't like it because it's the first time Bell and his crew had to face real adversity. The entire volume is a fight to survive for Bell and organizing a rescue for everyone else. Personally I found it extremely exciting and Welf is a total and complete bro.
>People don't like it because it's the first time Bell and his crew had to face real adversity. The entire volume is a fight to survive for Bell and organizing a rescue for everyone else. Personally I found it extremely exciting and Welf is a total and complete bro.
now i know you didn't read vol 5.
there was no "fight to survive", or shall i say the fight to survive happened completely off screen. it was 99% talking with 3 pages of action at the end, most of it Aiza curb stomping the floor boss while bell was killing Minotaurs.
Are you trolling?
Ais wasn't even there for the main fight in volume 5. The entire struggle to even get to floor 19 was not "off screen", everyone working together against Goliath was fucking amazing.
Where the hell do you people get these fake information? Is there like a page up somewhere with machine translated spoilers or something?
So the same old idiots who just want curbstomping.
Oh good, me too. That title is something spectacular.
How are the LN translations? I just finished what there was of the manga and I'm dying for more. Should I hold out for the anime?
No, but GA has never done 2 cour straight.
Nyaruko's the only one with split cour unless you count Polyphonica.
DanMachi is GA's first grand award though, but I doubt SB Creative will put out that much money for this.
I haven't read it only got summaries. But you seem to be glossing over some important parts.
Pretty much. Casuals who just want epic wins and RPG building porn are dipshits.
>And I heard barely anything happens in volume 5
>barely anything happens in volume 5
Fuck, that was supposed to be spoilered.
Anyways, lets not forget.
Nothing happening my ass.
I'm talking about:
- not fucking his goddess / ignoring her advances without a clear rejection
- not beating the shit out of the hobbit thief
- generally not noticing what's going on around him
Not the anon you were arguing with, but for some reason, I find him "pure" rather than dense. I guess it's because that's how his ideal and actions are so childish that his inexperience and ignorance of romantic relationships is actually kind of reasonable for me.
Yeah, I agree with that from what I've seen. Dense is "You should know better, but you don't". Dude doesn't know any better because no one told him anything, and he has yet to find out for himself.
Like, his magical +5 fuckoff knife goes missing the very first day he teams up with a stranger, and his first thought is "Oh shit, I must have dropped it" instead of "That cheeky cunt stole my knifu"
Done reading the manga , and planning to continue the LN for a bit
>gets a fire bolt
>spam it like megaman like a kid with a new toy
This nigga is pure. Also i dont really see much of harem in this, its just Bell doing adventures.
>Also i dont really see much of harem in this
Are you an idiot? 8 girls want him and it's also for some flimsy ass reasons, like any other harem shit. This is like SAO only instead of Kirito we get a Goku like character in terms of ignorance.
You can't be pure if you're raised by one of the most promiscuous God in history.
That's why the flimsy ones have no chance in hell and they know it. The fact that he's head over Ais is ... pretty much known to all but Ais.
It gets better. He has a unique skill where his strong desires--in this case, to
hold hands--boosts his stat gains from killing monsters. So now he's flying up the rankings and he doesn't even know why.
He's like Rance's "good" twin. Right down to sleeping with the level-up goddess.
I think Lili is just really lonely. It's not easy being homeless.
Just read the manga, if you aren't interested after the first arc, ditch it.
Well the manga is near the Minotaur fight or not
Too damn shame its gonna months to get translated
He's very plucky and is leveling up quick. He's also not a bad fighter by any means, just that he keeps getting himself in crazy fights that he really has no business being in.
Not that it's always his fault.
Everyone else learns techniques, and fights in teams. Only Bell fights the way he does.
This is not true.
Ais' background is a huge driving force for Oratoria. I swear to fucking god there's no anon that reads her side story, I really don't get it. Ais' mother is the super enigmatic character, so mysterious that even few know her name even among the deities.
It is hinted that Ais has a very tragic past, and the reason why she needs to be stronger is not really know yet either even by volume 3 of Oratoria.
Ais teaches Bell, and the first thing she says is he relies too much on his stats and have no techniques.
The thing is most other adventurers learn how to fight in groups so they offset each other's strengths and weaknesses, while Bell having no formal training learned to survive by being a jack of all trades. He does magic, can fight in the front and his speed is second to none at his level plus he never underestimates his enemies. He's also a capable shot caller in group fights as Welf was surprised that his battle sense is top class and is always looking for opportunities to strike while the enemy is distracted.
While it make take the average adventurers with B class skills years to get to level 2 he did it in a month with nothing but S class skills and a couple of SS ones.
My prediction is that the climax will be Bell reaching level 2.
Because nips kind of hate Yasuda.
just decided to read it, pretty good so far, guy knows how to vent on dungeons
his goddess is pretty cute and really supportive
google translate or similar services. Normally people will then edit the machine output to correct names and specific words (generally fantasy terms that won't be in the machine dictionaries).
Unfortunately I wouldn't know since there aren't many other translators in the first place. I do frequently encounter new vocabulary, though other times I just use it to verify my memory. Well chances are that if you read a lot of manga that have short chapters, then you might've been reading my translations for quite some time now.
This one is also entertaining too. by the way in the climax vol...
ayumu cross counter and hit a loli queen girl in the face...twice
The anime versions are cuter
>pretty locked right now
Manga's too slow.
It's not looking good for Hestia at the moment.
If you put Ais and Hestia on a scale, they probably weight equally for Bell, but for different reasons. Bell's favorite person is probably his grandpa still though.
She saved him twice, twice he ran away directly after.
That's about how often they met.
There's the Monsterphilia scene, the Loki/Freya scene, but they did not meet then.
And some discussion with Eina, that's about all I remember, did not meet again.
I hope so.
Well, Yen Press hasn't dropped a single project yet (as far as I know) so they will probably translate it nevertheless.
I've actually seen them updated midnight before, so I'm not quite sure. I mean they have all the files for sure because all the publications are done in magazines already, so probably sometime in the morning would be good guess.
I think they took half and half this time.
The main characters look like Haimura's characters more than Yasuda, but the side characters look like Yasuda's.
Hell, even the 4koma artist joined in at the prep discussion for the anime.
I just hope that either the translator step it up and stop being a code zero (guy who makes trillions of excuses to not translate DxD) or that someone else picks it up.
He could simply change the domain of his page to avoid DMCA.
I don't think he's been translating for a while besides the manga and 4koma.
At first he said he has interview, then tests, then just outright say he's lazy, then he says he's reading other books, then he has to finish the other LN first (which he didn't do), and now DMCA.
He's prob gonna call it quits to be honest. I think this project's just a spur of moment thing for him anyway, which I'm kinda surprised he stuck with it for so long.
Are there even active translators out there who aren't total attention whores or machine translators? Bonus points for actually translating from Japanese instead of from Korean or Chinese?
I only really know js06 with Kawakami-verse, but I'm pretty sure you can count the total number with just two hands. I doubt any of them have the spare time to pick up another series until they're done with whatever they're doing.
I also doubt those people would be interested in doing this because "long title" = dropped. Kinda wish the editor went with Familiar Myth instead (the original title that Omori submitted the work as).
That's prob the best one.
The one from bookwalker isn't that good either.
Too bad. I was hoping some that had the actual bookwalker edition would be around.
There was some anon in one of the older threads that posted them. But he skipped volume one and this one.
And I found the intuitive. This leave this girl is tumbled the stairs, is to die and hit strongly systemic. Neither that it was able to Nante until now prediction, not whatsoever such signs. It would not have taken just a red dot in English if there is such a force.
