Q: What did you think when you read the script for this movie?

A: It was a series of surprises with all of the Hinata focus!! To think I was waiting for a future like this…! Patience pays off after 15 years*! Q: What did you think when you saw Naruto and Hinata as adults?

A: Naruto-kun has gotten super tall and manly… my heart was pounding over just that, like I had spent a really long time with Hinata (laughs). Hinata also had become increasingly more womanly, and I could also feel a dignified type of strength from her, like she had really matured… so I was happy. While playing her, I could feel that maturity, yet her feelings for Naruto-kun remained unchanged… that’s the kind of quality about Hinata that I want to hold dear. Playing her this time was difficult, but the climax scene with Naruto-kun was fun to say the least!! I was filled with a sensation I had never had until now, like I was experiencing things as Hinata, so I had all kind of feelings rushing around. It was so deeply moving.

Okay, so I've watched the movie and it's so shitty and fanfic-tier that nothing saves it.
Starting from the fact that Naruto still doesn't acknowledges Hinata from the beginning and thought that this is some kind of "ramen love" all this time.
It was clear that Naruto choosed her and had feelings for her since the World Shinobi War arc

Much like with the idea of the genjutsu/scarf thing, the only one to blame is Kishi because he could not handle his characters kiss while 16. The movie staff had to come up with something to explain all that shit and they did a relatively fine job.
As for Hinata being aloof, there is a fair reason for that. Not only is she worried about Hanabi, she has some important shit to think through with Netori and Sage's Brother both having bombarded her with info to sort out.

I do see where you are coming from, the movie could and should have been much better. It didn't quite know what it was doing and I get the feeling it was meant to be longer, only to be cut down. At the same time however it does pull off the final part of Naruto's character arc, gives Hinata more depth and has her finally get the attention of her husbando by showing off her lovely, lovely upper arms.
For what I have come to expect from the manga/anime I'd say it was fine.

Well I did not have high expectations for this movie to begin with. I mean we knew Kishis was a prude and fucked up many possibilities of bringing those two together. Normally it would happen right after Pain arc, I think right than Sakura should have started to act like she does in the movie. She and the others knew from that point onward that Hinata loves Naruto. So she, and the others, should make an effort to teach Naruto, or at least explain to him, the thing or two about emotions. As simple as that. If he gets it, cool. If it would take him some time, well too bad, but at least the emotional situation is clear. Sakura is suddenly a better character, coz failfession does not happen. Naruto can start to learn something about the difference between loving food, and loving a person. Even better, he could be able to discuss it with his mother during the Kurama training. The posibilities were endless. If that was the case, the movie would just be about Naruto saving his girlfriend from that one asshole who came from the moon. And he would already be with her for two years. Which would make Narutos emotion more believeable than "I saw it in genjutsu, so I love you now."

But I am overthinking it a bit. For what we got, I say the movie was a pretty enjoyable experiance.
