Some faggot finally got off his lazy ass and translated c109-112.
Someone post the rest of the chapter to keep the threads bumped. I need to go for a while.
It's funny how this series went from MASSIVE WARFARE, VIKING EDITION, BLOOD AND THUNDER!-
To 'Harvest Moon' and now it's "the Adventures of the Pacifist Trader".
It's like someone pulled a bait and switch on me.
It's still fun, but it's like a completely different meal.
I don't know man, I think it's sticking. That was pretty much the whole point of the first part of the series, having him realize that a true warrior doesn't only rely on violence and can appreciate the importance of life.
He's definitely going to be forced to fight more in the series, that's for sure. Just never in an enthusiastic manner again. I'm curious how it'll be handled. I'm still on the fence about how Thorfinn changed, but I can definitely say that I don't dislike the new him.
Agreed, pacifists make for boring protagonists.
Plus, realistically, pacifism never works. All it takes is just one guy ordering you to be killed and you have to decide:
Pacifism is just boring.
In narratives it means that the character is ALWAYS gonna have to get lucky.I mean, Thorfinn could just have gotten killed by the warriors protecting the king. A lieutenant going "Run him through, we dont have time for this nonsense."
It requires too much luck.
Thorfinn's done enough fighting and killing. I'm sure there is going to be more action coming later on but probably focused around other characters (the king, Thorgil or whatever the fuck his name was)
Unless Thorfinn eventually takes up non-violent combat and just punches or cudgels people into submission, I don't think I can continue to care about this series, unless the story is extremely compelling.
Thorfinn is going to die with a sword in hand, i'm willing to bet on that. Or at some point is going to understand why his father carried his sword, even though he despised to fight.
Dont you want to read about pacifist punch-taker man and his adventures in trading in a violent viking world?
It's like all the stuff you like about vikings, but without anything viking-y in the main character, who's a pacifist farmer trader!
It's not their fault they cant communicate why they are feeling bad.
They're babies. Crying until their needs are met are the only way they can communicate.
What do expect?
A month old baby to go : "Father, there is stool on my diaper, and it is positively warm and giving me a bad feeling on my posterior. Kindly clean me, if you can."
"Mother, I am hungry, and wish to feast upon thine life giving bosom, whence milk comes from."
They only cry like that if your cuddling game is weak.
My mother ran a daycare and so crying is more than enough for me to understand. babies cry differently depending on their desires, similar to cats.
fake crying is to be ignored, they'll give up in 5 exact minutes
the hungry cry is a whiny and low pitch sound
babies will cry when they are put to bed always, especially if they are in an unfamiliar place. they aren't use to travel. thorfinn just needed to put it asleep, leave the tent, and wait for 7 minutes and it would be out for the night.
Well duh, he wasn't the MC of Prologue for nothing.
Still hope for Thorkell to appear. I know that it's only loosely based on historical characters, but is it possible for them to meet again?
I don't either. I want him to be OK with killing, or harming other people, armed if needed.
Obviously only if it's to protect his society, his people. Or if there is literally no way around it.
This series is definitely not going in that direction though.
The hormones that cause you to get breast milk is has a psychological component to it, so it's possible to get it if your mind really believes you can produce milk. There's even a few rare cases of male breastfeeding.
I get the feeling that Haalfdan's slightly disappointed in his son. And again, Sig's focused on regaining his honor because he wants to be more like his dad and be widely respected/feared.
Wow, I started a thread about this because I just assumed there wouldn't already be multiple threads on it. I didn't know how popular it is.
Is this a good manga to start on for someone who hasn't read much of any manga? I'm looking for something with action and adventure and little to no romance
