Cowboy Bebop had some pretty high quality art at times.
The movie Metropolis has one of the absolute highest quality close-up gun firing animations I've ever seen in any show/movie ever.
Hellsing Ultimate has some seriously high quality animations and absolutely beautiful still shots.
That should get you started on where to look for more.
