It's kinda like Mecha anime, some of them explain this, but most people wouldn't be able to stay conscious piloting one. In fact the Gs would probably kill you in a lot of situations.

Or when someone hits their head & they wake up later on. That can super fucking deadly in real life, but it usually gets brushed off like it's nothing in a lot of anime.

Or in a fight scene where someone get's punched and starts coughing up blood... uh yeah, that's not fucking good either. Yet after some time off-screen and bandaged up, everyone is fine.
