>>119207844 I just watch for the spectacle and impenetrable dialogues in which the current MC puts forward their viewpoint that is completely and utterly wrong, then turn out to be smugly proven right.
>>119211387 Did you actually pay attention to what was going on ? The intent was to damage Araragi and Yotsugi's relationship, by making her kill someone, something that a savior-complex teenager like araragi can't deal with. It would have worked if it wasn't for Gaen who ordered Yotsugi to spend some time with him.
It's as >>119209408 says, the show puts its smetaphysical dick on Araragi's forehead since Nadeko Medusa.
Ougi: "ney Araragi, you're becoming a mature person by learning from all these mistakes" Araragi: "I'd rather become a mature person without everything going to shit" Yotsugi: "Looks like Ougi is manipulating everything to make you a mature adult" Teori: "Nigga I been played, kill me already bitch I am done with this shit" Araragi: "Oh no" Yotsugi: "I'm a monster who kills people, don't become like meeeeeeeee! I said with a posed look"
-several hot crab dickings later-
Araragi: "HOLY SHIT, what are up with these fucking dolls" Yotsugi: "Looks like we played right into that long sleeve bitches plans, but we OG Original Gaen. Unlimited Pimp Hand nigga and I got an itch to slap a bitch"
>>119212130 Ougi has some sort of ability to play with people's perception of reality. She makes changes in the world around her (like swapping genders) and patiently waits for the rest of the world to calmly accept the new reality and forget that anything else was ever the case.
Gaen knows everything. It's played for a joke that she's omniscient, but it's more like a narrative-convenient meta-knowledge.
Is Ougi actually Meme? >Ougi intentionally takes Meme's last name and claims to be related to him >knows things Meme knew, like his banter with Koyomi >espouses the same ideologies about order and balance >Appeared shortly after Meme disappeared without a trace, never to appear again in the series > Kagenui revealed this episode that it's common for specialists to eventually become oddities themselves
>>119212965 Their dynamic is already pretty interestign when you think about it. Somebody who ostensibly knows everything that is possible to know within the boundaries of human perception locked in a chess match with an unknowable thing that has the power to freely alter perceptions of reality.
Gaen is aware of Ougi's existence in an abstract sort of way, but can't observe or know anything directly because that's perception is the domain of Ougi.
>>119214157 It's an oddity born from Araragi's subconscious desires and self loathing. Which is why Ougi knows everything he knows, knows everything he noticed but ignored, does everything he wishes he could do if not for his idealism, and is not actually the darkness that Shinobu saw but rather is pretending to be it.
Shinobu wouldn't know about anything besides what the real Araragi is thinking about.
Ougi is just the world's biggest Araragi/Shinobu shipper and she is trying to make sure it stays that way. She wants to ruin his relationship with all of the other girls and make him a vampire so he is stuck with Shinobu forever.
so he CAN'T use his vampire powers anymore except healing or else he'll go full kizu vamp mode? so basically nothing changes because all he ever did was abuse his healing powers and let people beat him to death over and over again anyways.
>>119214752 You've got the wrong idea about how Araragi thinks. He thinks justice and morality is on the side of what's logically for the greater good. So he sees things like saving Kiss-Shot as being selfish weakness and doing what he wants.
Has anyone else found Hanamonogatari and Tsukihimonogatari to be extremely anti-climatic? I know what I'm about to describe will describe every Monogatari release, but the last two releases especially have just been a whole lot of talking about how epic the final battle will be and then the final battle happens in the last twenty minutes and it's just more talking and then something happens that stops there from being an epic final battle.
>>119214827 So he can die of old age and then abscond his responsibility when Shinobu inevitably reverts to her cunt self. >She was fine when I left her who cares if she wiped out the world 50 years later
>>119215582 Fuck man, maybe I'm just getting bored of Monogatari, or at the very least, not enjoying it as much as I used to. It's just starting to feel like every plot arc is following the same pre-set pattern.
Saving Kiss-Shot was the "no-one's happy end" from Kizu. Shinobu was suicidal before she met him, and again after he died in the alt timeline. Sustaining her as a shadow of her former self is basically dragging her along as part of his own self satisfaction (unless you count their present interactions as salvation, which is all filled with uncertainty in how long it will last for).
>>119215782 >unless you count their present interactions as salvation Araragi and Shinobu count their present interactions as salvation. Shinobu is happier with Araragi than she has ever been in her entire life, and Araragi can barely imagine living without Shinobu at his side.
>>119215502 If Ougi was actually the darkness the darkness wouldn't have been trying to get rid of Ougi for breaking the rules. Oshino saved Ougi by corroborating the aspect of Ougi that she was his niece. Thus, instead of being some meta shit that jumped out of Araragi's vampire head, Ougi the fake ceased to be and Ougi the niece became a reality.
>>119216842 >wouldn't have been trying to get rid of Ougi for breaking the rules I dunno. He's still it to me. The whole point of his character was some sort of nonsense compartmentalization was going on not just ye olde standard aberration again.
>>119217483 The Darkness wanted Ougi because it claimed to be Meme's niece, but Gaen reveled that Ougi was Araragi and confronting her about this led the Darkness to them. Meme accepting Ougi as his niece was enough for the Darkness to not give a fuck.
>>119218178 Ougi had no interest in Shinobu at all. Ougi's interest was doing the shit Araragi refused to, like informing Tsukihi she was a monster, sending Hachikuji back to hell, and most importantly telling Araragi why he's a pussy bitch.
>>119215238 >Hanamonogatari I don't know about you, but I took the chance to rewatch this other day, and it really stands on its own as a great ova (Sure its better when you actually know Kaiki's history).
Anti-climatic, maybe, but its really just a simple problem-climax-solution story.
>>119220601 Epilogue? To what? The entire series? No way. Doesn't that just kill the series then, because now we know nothing crazy happens in the end? What the fuck. This isn't a fucking slice of life; I thought this had a driven plot.
>>119220684 Well, there is a new monogatari book coming out, tsugimonogatari if I recall correclty, and I am not sure if it is at all related to that. But yes, it is an epilogue to the monogatari series.
Hana really doesn't explain much of what happened to everyone though. It just kind of wraps up Kanbaru's half-finished devil arm problem. Its kind of like an extra for monkey.
>>119221486 Depends on who you're specifically talking about. Yozuru would talk shit to a 100% Kiss-shot as well. Yozuru is the master of not giving a fuck. Gaen would talk down to Shinobu because Gaen is just a general bitch with an Ego that rivals Shinobu's and justifiably so.
>>119221893 >Agreed. There really was no closure for anyone. It just kind of wrapped up kanbaru. That's just because the author kept trying to "end" the series, but failing. Every time he wrote a conclusion, he changed his mind a few months later and wrote another book. That's why he is going to write another book set in the same universe despite the end of Araragi's story.
I still don't see what's so bad about becoming 100% vampire. I'm sure he could live off of eating aberrations, instead of people. I'm also pretty sure shinobu would keep him from doing anything he'd really regret later anyway.
>>119222337 He doesn't want to become a vampire. End of story. Just because you're willing to be awesome at the cost of other people and live with Kiss-shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade at your side for the rest of your life, doesn't mean he wants it.
I mean, it is his loss and he's wasting an opportunity but I mean, it's still his decision.
>>119222702 Tsukihi has a normal lifespan, she'll die at the same time as everyone else. She's battleproof, not ageless.
His lifespan is also an ambiguous thing. Shinobu herself wasn't sure if it's going to be extended but during their bathtub reconciliation she did entertain the idea and give him fair warning that he might outlive everyone he's ever loved and he needs to prepare himself for that since he's not prepared to kill her to restore himself to normal.
>>119222872 >I thought it was like 500ish >>119222938 >I think it was 400 something. In Monogatari, no vampire had ever died of old age. So it is fair to say they have indeterminate lfespan. And it seems Araragi has accepted that.
>>119223214 Shit. Umm...Well, in theory everyone should pick Oshino because he's the coolest motherfucker. Probably Kanbaru as well because she too is a cool motherfucker. If I was able to tame it, Kako. Otherwise just something generic like Araragi or Karen
