The anime is irrelevant. There was little to no chance that any design decisions were run by Togashi, and the choice was simply the character designer's perspective approved by internal staff. Pitou is largely accepted as more of a female in Japan, resulting in what we got in the anime, and the whole "pitou is male" whining is primarily a western bias that had sprouted from the arbitrary translations we received.

But to be fair Pitou has breasts at multiple points in the manga, too, as well as wide birthing hips and increasingly feminine facial features. I'd be willing to bet my money on the idea that Togashi originally conceived the character as more of a male, but quietly moved away from that idea after a couple volumes.

Oda has every right to be a workaholic, but don't expect the same from Togashi.

Togashi seems like the kind of guy who loves to live life and let it shine through his works - that's why he's such an amazing magaka.

I would rather we have constant haiutuses with intermittent releases than have him just shit on his legacy by churning out sub-par and disappointing releases.

It's painful, but I believe in Togashi and don't want him to rush it. He can make HxH the pinnacle of manga. That lazy bastard.
