I agree the original sprites really need work, but all the RN art was great, the character designs were all great, (seriously, just look at Saber's armor) and the writing was long-winded but still leagues superior to something like the Hunger Games, even with a shitty translation damaging the writing. The issue is more that even Lancer can't possibly bridge the gap between himself and Gilgamesh with Gate of Babylon spamming him constantly while gimped with Kotomine as a master and with two command spells weakening him. In fact, even if he was in Ireland and had a good master and three command spells buffing him, he would still lose to serious Gil almost every time, because Gil is just that fucking strong.
