Why have they never done Metroid anime or even a OVA at least?
Nintendo should start making shows about their franchises don't you think?
>Nintendo should start making shows about their franchises don't you think?
It could work, but Nintendo is too paranoid about the last time they tried it with Mario and Link.
>Well excUUUUUUUUUUUUse me, Princess!
They added to her character. Before that she didn't have one. It's basically what would happen if they gave Link a character. And honestly her character isn't even that bad.
She still kicks ass, she's just got some emotions now.
She had tons of character in the Prime games.
How she walked, the look of her eyes, having her take her helmet off after beating the Prime in 1 watching the temple grounds burn, closing the eyes of that dead GFed trooper in Prime 2, that little wave at the end of Prime2 that she gives to the Luminoth, that clenched fist when she has to take down Gandrayna(?) in 3.
Just because she didn't talk, doesn't mean she didn't have character or emotions.
I'm more fuzzy on the earlier entries, but I'm sure somebody else can fill that in.
In that case, so does Link. That look when he sees Ganondorf at the beginning of Ocarina of Time, every little bit of determination he showed in Twilight Princess, the happiness he had when he was with Zelda in Skyward Sword.
He was still a clean slate, there wasn't any kind of character, just the one you imposed on him. Same with Samus. Now she has an established character and not just the generic things she did in the older games.
>And honestly her character isn't even that bad.
Not so fast, Tim.
But she could have always been that person, we just didn't see it until then. If anything it's an insight into her character. Some of the stuff about her was blatantly obvious throughout the whole series though.
How does it feel to have objectively bad taste? You may think to yourself that this isn't the case, but I'm afraid you're wrong. You have shit taste and are stupid, and that's just a fact. Learn to accept it.
A counter argument isn't even remotely necessary. You're basically saying the equivalent of "I like eating shit and I think it's delicious!". No, man. Shit is not delicious, and no one needs to be convinced otherwise. Really, it's just pathetic more than anything.
No, I'm saying that she had no defining character at all, which is true. She had nothing going for her. AT ALL.
You can't argue otherwise and that is it, if you could you'd have told me why and how I'm wrong. However, I am right. So you can't.
>No, I'm saying that she had no defining character at all, which is true. She had nothing going for her. AT ALL.
The very fact you think that only goes to show that you've never actually played any of the earlier games. Go watch or read one of the many, many, many explanations of what's wrong that the abortion that is Other M, because I can't be bothered to explain something that's so obvious. You know, if someone asked you what the benefit was to not stabbing yourself, and you would just be so dumbfounded that someone actually exists that doesn't understand it that you wouldn't even bother wasting your time on them? Yeah, it's like that.
I'm not saying the older games weren't better, cause they fucking were but I'm also saying that there was no character development at all like there was in Other M. Fusion and Corruption had some but Other M had the most and it had the biggest glimpses in her as a person and you can't argue otherwise.
Not at all.
Keep making up excuses, son. Fact is she's never had more personality than she did in Other M. You just hate the personality and how she actually is.
Wasn't there a canonical manga that characterized her somewhat? In any case, saying Samus had no character is equivalent to saying gestures and actions aren't forms of expression or emotion.
Again, Link has gestures and actions but you're still supposed to self insert as Link and give your own feelings as him. So as far as that is concerned, no she never really had a character.
>Fact is she's never had more personality than she did in Other M. You just hate the personality and how she actually is.
Yeah, you're right, and that's not a good thing. Her personality is an abysmal trainwreck. She was infinitely better off when she was a silent protagonist defined by her actions, instead of a pathetic, whiny, quivering little pussy, who can't be trusted to look after herself.
Other M turned her from the greatest and most feared bounty hunter in the galaxy, to a frightened, incompetent school-girl. Contrary to idiot's belief, that's not good character development. That's character suicide. The Samus in Other M and Samus depicted in all other Metroid titles are essentially different people because they are absolutely nothing alike.
No, you should fuck off. It'd be perfectly fine if we were having a serious discussion about it, as we generally are here. I bet you'd also have thought that excellent thread we had last night about making Ancient Rome into an anime wasn't board related. What an idiot.
I have nothing really to say to this. If you didn't like what happened, that's fine, I didn't either. But the facts are that she has more character now than she ever has done. That's a fact, not opinion. I don't like the fact but I also hold that's not as bad as you make out.
I don't like what as happened but as said above I don't mind half as much as you clearly.
If anything I'd like to see how her character improves. If they go BACK to before Other M that's the real tragedy because it means that they don't even have the guts to give her a redemption. You can't just simply do everything that Samus does on a regularly basis and not feel anything, that's just not possible.
And yeah >>118615112 is right, I'm gonna stop replying since we've got conflicting opinions and we're both not going to change our minds so we should just drop it.
>But the facts are that she has more character now than she ever has done
In this case, it is still a loss because the added character is a negative.
Having shit on your plate is having more food than nothing, but it doesn't mean you want to eat the shit.
That's definitely not true with respect to the newer Zelda games, and even if it was, it wouldn't be transferable to Samus, given that there's a manga.
Why is samus most often paired with shotas?
is she a pedo?
>a struggling company
FE:A would never work.
All those neglected waifus, not to mention the risk of conflicting my Lissa OTP, cheeky princess 4ever
>Chain of Engagement --> Save on different file --> Reset
What kind of method is that? Have just enough for an S support, go to the final level, save before S support but not after, finish final level & after the credits your support log would have the S support. The implication is that your MU spent the rest of their lives screwing their spouse. You can then load your save & S support someone else.
Would you watch it?
What about just for an OVA?
>traumatized from Super Metroid
Even if you go with Sakamoto's butthurt-induced removal of Prime from the timeline, by the time of Other M she's fought Ridley twice (with him 'rising from the dead' in between) and made a successful career of mercenary work.
Other M depicts her regressing to a whimpering dependent state because THE BABY got Mother Brained and daddy Adam gave her a mean look in the first chapter that brought back all the Ridley PTSD that somehow never came up before in the series. It represents a huge step back for Samus both in and out of story.
Fuck it, this blog does a job describes the overarching problem behind Other M: that Sakamoto is either a really bad writer with big clunky ideas that didn't mesh together, or genuinely believes that crippling dependency is a desirable trait in women.
...or you could save the A-support state as a main file, hit S rank with waifu of choice, save in separate slot (which logs the support AFAIK), and reset to main file, which is several times faster than the method you just described?
It's been stated in the Other M logs that Super Metroid's Ridley's official death with all others being survivals or escapes. Samus makes it clear in her opening narration she thinks Ridley's gone for good along with the space pirates & Zebes. She has pretty good reason as there is no way Ridley could be back from her perspective. No space pirates to rebuild him as Meta Ridley or any phazon. His charred corpse was blown up with the entire planet. Anyone from her perspective would call bullcrap on Ridleys return.
Point taken, that is much faster. I just find myself not using the extra save slots even though I can delete immediately after. I'll use your method unless my other save files are used.
I just realized that from a plot perspective, S supporting like that & erasing after makes it as though the marriage never happened. I wonder if the MU even gets a kiss in that version. In the longer one, atleast the Mu gets a lifetime to spend with them.
