I was born in the early 80's and I love Lupin the 3rd. I love the sound track especially!
I know alot of young people don't like Lupin.
Lupin the 3rd general & spoilers / easter eggs / hidden secrets.
>school me on Lupin
Mamo was the best movie. Prove me wrong.
It takes itself a little too seriously for my tastes. But I'd say give it a try if you want some recent Lupin that's different from the bland yearly TV specials.
It's a prequel to the 1st television series, so you may want to watch that first if you haven't already. Although it's best to keep in mind that Zenigata in the Fujiko anime is almost like a completely different character.
The Fujiko anime is dark and very different from the usual tone of the Lupin anime series. Sometimes the plot goes full retard, but the visuals and the soundtrack make up for that tenfold.
'92 baby here and I still love Lupin, and just Monkey Punch's art in general, so you're not alone OP.
Anyone else think the pink jacket series is underrated? The art's a little wonky but I think it stays true to the original manga's style barring Fujiko looking like some sort of deviantart goblin.
Like it captures this type of expressiveness really well.
The Green and Red jacket series are still great too though, I don't like picking definitive favorites or anything.
I enjoy the pink jacket series, although I think the art is less wonky and more subject to change from episode to episode.
The second series did this as well over time, but the pink jacket series seemed like they gave zero fucks about consistency. Which is great IMO.
MP's art is so great. I'm ashamed to say I've never read the manga.
Pink Jacket is apparently available on Hulu. I wonder how the subs compare to the rips on BakaBT. It seems those subs are from a HK DVD set.
You're absolutely right.
>That last scene.
Yeah, I wonder if anyone would be willing to rip them. I use to be able to rip from Hulu using Aimersoft Amersoft Youtube Downloader (I did that for Gaiking: Legend of Daiku-Maryu) but it seems they stopped that.
I picked up a good number of volumes on eBay (pic related) for $40 in an auction. I then bought the missing volumes of the first series for around $20 or $30. It was certainly worth it, though Tokyopop's print quality could be better.
1990 guy here, Lupin III is one of my all time favs. I'd record it on adult swim and watch it in the morning before school.
>Is the fujiko series worthwhile?
The best episodes are the ones with the least Fujiko.
