I was stalking my favourite Seiyuu's Twitter today and came across something related to Gundam G.
All I can get from it is that she'll appear in Gundam G but I'm not bright in Japanese so I thought you guys could help me with this.
>mfw Sayla, transcending time and space, shows up as the Kira in Destiny-style fillin protag.
I SERIOUSLY hate the animation in this show. It's all old and shit, with a ton of inconsistent quality instead of standardized mecha models. And the fucking lines are all unevenly weighted. And the color palette is like some faded film from the 80s. It's so old.
Apparently she's got a role in Reconguista but doesn't know much about Gundam, so she's going to learn about it from her senpais.
She also said to "check it" if it's ok, I think.
Very, very bigger.
Anyway Tomino should really explain how the fuck he comes up with those names.
Jesus Christ, Nug Norebo, does it sound more like cute space cheerleader or lovecraftian deity to you?
>well, considering it's Tomino I would exclude that she's both but still
Please stop being retarded for the sake of le funny maymay joke and making people mad.
This is why there are so many genuine retards on /a/ now. Because you spend so much time "trolling" that idiots think they are in good company.
It's too late now but if you find yourself asking "why is /a/ so shit" you know to blame yourself.
Well, the character description for Bellri is that he fell for Aida at first sight, so we know who Tomino wants us to consider best girl. I bet that kuntala bitch ends up betraying Bellri to the Capital.
This classic Tomino I kept hearing of is staring off well.
Aren't we talking about animation and character design? The CG mechs look like really obvious CG, but the character designs are look like they'll be much more modern than Reconguista.
Plot-wise, I'm hoping for something not Valvravingly stupid, just absolutely mediocre and straight-forward without overblown DRAMATIC plot twists.
>having high hopes for Cross Ange
>so long as it doesn't end with all the girls raped and mutilated.
I have bad news, anon.
First Tomino anime, it's kind of nuts. There's so much banter and things happening all the time. even little things like Bell jumping down some stairs.
It's still funny how people went overboard getting honestly confused by everything though. You'd think their brains got scrambled.
Yeah, apparently some people get really mentally agitated when everything isn't slowly and meticulously verbally exposed to them since they aren't able to pick up things through context alone.
She has all of the memories of what led up to the current time line, she know the horrors of the Soldiers of Sorrow.
He's either gay or in it for the nookie. And yes, he has boobs, so he probably is in it for the pole.
>He's either gay or in it for the nookie. And yes, he has boobs, so he probably is in it for the pole.
Apparently the interview said he likes both.
And I can't believe a trap actually has boobs.
The very beginning confused me because I wasn't sure whose side the MSs were on. I didn't realize until later that even though the looked similar, they were on opposite sides.
>First Tomino anime, it's kind of nuts.
Can't wait for more nut talk.
Is she scared because she has no ass?
Why do people bully G-Reco? Why do they call it shit? All I've heard is "it's confusing" but I wasn't confused at all. Maybe they watched it when they were sleepy or something? This is my first Gundam and I'm loving it, I don't know why it's getting so much flack.
>Oh great G-Reco is a steaming pile of shit.
>Worst anime of the year.
>Tomino being a fucking hack as always.
>Is Tomino synonymous with "bad writing?"
>The dialogue is shit.
I don't get it.
It's just that the G-Recofags kept antagonizing Aldnoahfags by saying it was so much better. Turns out, Aldnoah really did surpass Gundam. Once you accept that fact, G-reco is nice as a supplement while you wait for the good stuff(Aldnoah and Sidonia S2) for the winter.
It's premature to claim one is better than the other but both Sidonia and A/Z definitely have a better start than G-Reco for sure. I also expected more from Sunrise in terms of animation. Fuck, even UBW is better animated despite having a smaller budget.
But Aldnoah was worse than G-Reco so far in every regard. Aldnoah had poor CG mechs, mediocre art, character designs and animation, bad pacing, average seiyuu work, terrible characters, a rehashed soundtrack taken from SnK+KLK scraps, and an idiot plot that insulted the viewer's intelligence. It was one of the worst shows of the summer. And as for Sidonia I dropped it because CG, it might be a good show despite that but I wouldn't know.
I'm not a "G-Recofag", why do you invent these fake groups? People just watch stuff and enjoy it, that doesn't make them a "____fag". I watched Aldnoah and it was dogshit, then I watched the first two episodes of G-Reco and it seems really promising. It might go full retard at some point, but at the very least it's already better than what Aldnoah had to show with yet another Butcher bait-and-switch. Why does everything have to be a stupid /v/-tier fanbase war? We're all just people who watch anime.
CA suits heads still look sorta like GM, while you'll notice all the pirates suits will have the round belly cockpit.
Holy shit you retards, don't take the bait of a single A/Z shitposter and let him derail the thread. Just ignore him.
Do you think the captain of the guard is actually dead, or will he magically survive?
It would make more sense if he was magically alive because killing him off with no introduction would be a little strange. But I don't really know either way. I think he's probably dead so that space pirate girl can chase after Bell's dick without being unfaithful.
That moment when you know "ok, I'm giving this a chance".
With old Tomino, I'd have said he's dead meat, especially since someone else already gets to wear the mask. Then again, I'm not sure how new happy Tomino's stance on a healthy death count is.
He was given a basic enough characterization to show he was dedicated to hime and that hime admired him and some other small things. We'll get a flashback of him and her's life together soon anyways.
The real point is to show that G-self has a 'mind of it's own' or acts on subconscious feelings, because Bellri didn't mean to kill the guy. Or maybe he thinks that people don't die if they're killed.
>after all he said part of the plot is inspired by how upset he was with the 2011 earthquakes and subsequent response
They are all going to fucking die
I can't find the exact quote, but didn't he also say something about how he wanted the children, once the series was over, to look around at modern society and be unhappy or something to that affect?
They make posts like that to say dumb shit to get people angry and derail threads with people responding to them.
The rationale is to say dumb shit to get people angry and derail threads with people responding to them.
>poor CG mechs
>mediocre art, character designs and animation,
> average seiyuu work, terrible characters,
> And as for Sidonia I dropped it because CG, it might be a good show despite that but I wouldn't know.
So yeah, you have shit taste. Typical G-Recofaggot.
I don't know, the show's setting seems to be "blissfully unaware peace-state people don't understand the war around them". It might be Tomino saying to young people OPEN YOUR EYES SHEEPLE, YOU'RE EATING SOYLENT GREEN
>The rationale is to say dumb shit to get people angry and derail threads with people responding to them.
No? I myself recommended that you ignore the post. Just take it in, no need to get frustrated over a very simple fact. Say what you will about A/Z relative to older Gundam series, but relative to G-Reco it easily blows it out of the water.
Because there exists that small possibility that someone really is that retarded and I must correct them with my objectively correct opinions and strongly worded anecdotal evidence.
>/m/enchildren still in denial about the mediocrity of their champion
Hah, this is hilarious.
Admit it fuckers, if G-Reco is not made by Sunrise, carries no Gundam trademark and directed by someone else you hypocrites will bash it in unison.
>Admit it fuckers, if G-Reco is not made by Sunrise, carries no Gundam trademark and directed by someone else you hypocrites will bash it in unison.
Surprisingly astute observation.
>all this shitposting just because people misinterpreted an interview
Guess these dipshits are gonna be hardcore dedicated to making sure the threads are ruined
What is the thing that Raraiya is holding here?
>Is Cross Ange good
>I have high hopes for Cross Ange
Made my fucking week
And so it begins.
The amount of people over the last 2 days that have stated that they've never watched anything Tomino (including classic gundams) surprises me actually.
But Bright himself ordering him shot to death was brutal Granted, he had no idea that was his son who went missing since he had killed Worst Girl And then he went "Well, that's enough military for me, I'm gonna open a bakery with my kid who's still alive"
Bright's a military man. It's just that there wasn't any room for him to be a family man.
Also, Hathaway's Flash OVA when? I want to loop his death over and over. God, I just rewatched CCA, and I'm so butt mad over Hathaway. It's like a scab that I peeled at too early. At least Quess had legitimate mental problems to justify her status as worst girl. Hathaway was just being a little bitch. It felt like Tomino was taking the piss out of his "adult suck, kids are the best" spiel.
This is still pretty much the most accurate thing you can say about Tomino. He doesn't fuck around making characters to fit what they should do, and people are really fucking stupid.
Also I still kinda half expect Tomino to sneak Cham into this show.
>tfw possibly Tomino's magnum opus goes unnoticed
;_; poor Dunbine.
I like how the characters just sort of talk to each other a lot and sometimes go on tangents, it's hard to explain. Something like when the whole part of them rescuing the princess, there's tons of dialogue that doesn't need to be there at all, especially by the secondaries or even off-screen characters. It makes things feel more natural, even if some are crazy.
It's all important for developing the series, characters and foreshadowing, or even just making things slightly more real. Though Tomino doesn't usually waste a lot of time like that, there's a lot of stuff which seems pretty offhand in his shows but ties in in some way.
>mfw episodes later we get to hear "N"
>"N" for Newtype
>Bellri is a Newtype
I'm assuming both Gundam and Newtype are forbidden words in the post UC era.
I was more talking about the character stuff, the animation is also very focused on showing a lot of small quirks and other bits of characterization, and it feels like there's a ton of details being thrown at you. It's different from some other shows where every line, movement, and shot concerning the characters are very restrained and 'controlled' or deliberate.
The plot words being thrown in I like as well, because it's the sort of things they would just mention without explaining too much.
>"Rumour has it that the CIA are behind it, tonto-san"
>"AH YES, THE CIA, standing for the central intelligence agency, formed in 1947 in the USA during the cold war. We both had a run in with them last month during the Hammerfell case where you almost lost your wife because of that bastard head agent. Remember that, pronto-san?"
These sorts of fiction conversations always make me laugh
>mfw Gundam and Newtype is the new word for nigger
Also the first episode did this a little bit, but it was a classroom so it made sense, and there was some reluctance to spit out information they all already knew.
I think it's a different kind of directing, restrained and economic can be a good approach if used well. The comedic and energetic style fits this show's approach well, though, and I don't feel it breaches into "manic and nonsensical" as some have claimed. He's definitely utilizing his riches well too, to bring the characters and setting to life.
Even restrained animation when done well shows you something about the character just from the way they move. But cheap, throwaway animation for trash shows by directors who direct anime that's purely pandering for sales won't do that, much as I find UFO table overrated in a major way at least they do that much.
Not just that, but nobody ever talks like that to somebody else, especially when they're both aware they know exactly what the CIA is because it's part of the written world they live in. It's like if we had a conversation about anime here with you and suddenly I started giving out a wiki summary about anime to you just in case you needed a refresher course.
This fucking show though, things were just happening and they just kept happening and I still didnt know what the fuck was happening. And then someone died, and then that bitch cried, and new brown waifu went even fuller retard and apparently G is papa what does it mean!?
>tfw Bellri loses an eye later on
I was 100% certain you were going to say some "yeah but /a/ knows shit about anime" so I tried to think of some other example on the spot but was far, far too lazy.
Oh and pic reminded me that I thought hyouka was a good example of utilizing animation and directing to express the characters.
And damn, I'm already really eager for the third episode of this, I guess it's confirmed I like it.
The problem is too much it is fucking crazy and it's an anime. Not a life documentary. When they are being autistic as fuck, it's not helping the core story. Like at all. This has ben a major flaw with Tomino in his whole career
That was slapstick. You should also pay attention to the "maze" comment because I think it will come up later on, especially with all the extended focus Bellri and the show gave to the old-fashioned inside of the prison.
Anyways I just don't think you paid much attention to the episode as a whole, it wasn't really confusing.
This might be the fruitiest Char yet.
Could be, but balls don't have legs and arms, so it would be one of an upgrade.

>>G-Self auto-fires and kills the captain
Yeah, according to Bellri.
This is his default expression.
>he shot to protect Aida
>he didn't shoot he wouldn't risk fighting with Aida hanging there
Bellri fags, there's just no arguing with them.
You sure about that?
I believe more those two guys on the Grimoire. I mean, why would they lie about it?
Meanwhile bell has every reason to try to lessen his "faults" in the events, now that Aida is crying in front of him.
But how would they know? A mobile suit moving on its own is going to look like a mobile suit being piloted by someone.
I guess only Bellri would know at this point, we'll find out in due time. Regardless of whether Bellri did kill him himself or not, there is definitely something weird going on with the G-Self.
The pirates are a pseudo-independent force being utilized by Ameria to get around the political repercussions of opposing the capital who currently have an energy monopoly thanks toe the space elevators.
G-Reco is a FUCK YEAH AMERICA show as well as being a metaphor for our reliance on oil.
>this is my first Gundam
Well according to some comments by the staff (when they were talking about how Tomino forgot the G-Arcane transforms until later in the series) they should be at the Venus colony around episode 17.
This isn't about the Capital Army.
We're talking generally.
Even if it was self-defence, that's not for the culprit to determine.
And it doesn't free him from taking responsibility for his actions.
Hell, I'd like to drop the subject, but that people give Aida shit for having a perfectly human, understandable reaction rubs me the wrong way.
GENKI NO G WA

>Noredo has the same VA as pic related
No wonder I like
listeningto her so much.
The pacing is really all over the place but yeah, I kinda fail to understand what's so confusing about it and it seems more than obvious that the important bits they "failed" to explain are going to be explained once Bellri actually joins the pirates.
I'm particularly interested in the whole Iris Sign thing, I hope Tomino can make it a little different from typical newtype acid trips.
WHAT IS HAPPENING?!
>I'm particularly interested in the whole Iris Sign thing, I hope Tomino can make it a little different from typical newtype acid trips.
He didn't intend for it to be a Gundam show in the first place so I'm sure he has something different in mind.
Wrecked by super pilot, newtype scum.
Considering it's Gundam, all girly men are blood thirsty mentally unstable murder machines with a lot of insecurities that either get worked out by the end of the series or they die with their ideals.
>both Sidonia and A/Z definitely have a better start than G-Reco for sure
She reminds me of Laura. Therefore she makes perfect waifu material
>Captain Dandy and Instructor Scirocco aren't in the group dance
>Instructor Scirocco will probably either be killed by Bellri or die saving him
>Tomino isn't really happy
>This emerges from deep space come mid season
Why do people say that pink is a bitch, again?
She just wants to come along for the ride, too.
>Why do people say that pink is a bitch, again?
People have said this?
I loved how she ran straight up towards Bellri and took great efforts to catch him in his fall.
She comes across as a tough girl. But a sensitive and caring one. She is lovely.
