Complete fucking badass.
Best, most creative fights and easily the scariest member on his team. Hiei just obliterates all his opponents, the only Yusuke fight I like is Toguro and Kuwabara is alright.
But Kurama's are like watching a Mortal Kombat fight, so entertaining.
>"You believe in mercy don't you?"
>Kurama stops, slowly turns and simply says "No"
>Roto gets completely obliterated from the inside out and turned into fertilizer
Kurama will never plant his seed in you
He was probably the strongest in the group too, until after the Dark Tournament arc.
>The Filipino dub initially called him Denise, because the dubbers thought he was a woman. When they learned the truth, they changed his name to Dennis and explained that he was disguising himself as a woman named Denise.
Kuwabara's "sacrifice" was my favorite part I think.
Although, I think it would have been more interesting if instead of them just letting Toguro pick the most horrific punishment imaginable, he was forced to hang out with Yusuke and come to terms with everything, possibly even repair his friendship with Genkai.
That sad moment when Kuwabara was giving his manly final speech, willing to sacrifice himself to beat the ninja dude.
Then Yukina shows up and he just kicks the guys ass with 1 hit and pretends he's fine.
Just got finished watching this show
Kurama by far was the best character, every fight gave him the ability to be creative and see some interesting things. It started to get meh when he made the plant wings and then won a fight by planting seeds hundreds of years early in that exact location.
Everyone agrees dub Kurama is superior yes?
Yeah I was pissed when they added power levels
Also when they added all the random shit like that guy breeding a test tube baby and it leading to nothing. Also having the redhead chick lose her fight because she used too much energy showing off for Yusuke
I say again, like I mentioned about Kurama's fights, it's like animated Mortal Kombat.
Pretty much everyone dies hard, painful deaths. There's real impacts and suffering going on, with everyone bringing their own tricks and/or gimmicks to the table.
The Dark Tournament Arc was just all of that non stop.
>nigga was cold blooded
>What he did to Elder Toguro
I'm pretty sure both Yusuke and Hiei said in their heads at one point that they're glad Kurama was on their side.
You really really don't want to incur his wrath. He barely even frowns, so you can't tell how mad he is, how absolutely fucked you are til' it's too late.
The end of the entire other spirit detective arc felt kind of lazy to me, you could tell the series was unraveling after Dark Tournament.
I actually like Kuwabara's English voice and think Kurama>Hiei. Fuck Hiei.
>all that dialogue between Karasu and Kurama in their fight
Intentionally homoerotic? Some of Karasu's line are gay as fuck.
>Kurama will never thoroughly seed you and turn you into a pretty flower.
I wonder how he'd react to actual male lust? He didn't respond to any of Karasu's comments whatsoever, I wonder if he'd be repulsed by the idea of him being kissed by a man?
Who was your favorite announcer, /a/?
delicious brown one for me, of course
These were fucking great characters for announcers.
>dat twisted sense of excitement from Catgirl commentating the gory bits excitedly
>dat brown girls crying because she didn't want to be in the ring anymore
Who was it that Fox Yoko told to stay perfectly still or die? Then she raises her arm and says "O-okay"....which counted as moving and nearly got herself killed?
That was pretty funny.
Probably not. Characters his type normally turn good when they find a guy that is "Interesting"
You can notice how the smart bad guy that is almost always the first boss then becomes allies with the MC after the MC shows him something "interesting".
The author even acknowledges it by himself
>Also was pretty hot when in the English dub she talked about the brown girl losing her virginity
Also, forgot pic.
In the english dub the brown girl says she doesnt want to die a virgin in the dark tournament, then fox girl says something along the lines of "wow you are virgin, we need to find you a man stat."
Then in the beginning of the demon world tournament fox girl said she did infact help fish girl with what she was looking for
>Then in the beginning of the demon world tournament fox girl said she did infact help fish girl with what she was looking for
>tfw she totally took a fat strap on to her
Anyone else upset that Genkai came back to life? Bitch was one of the best characters, but her death had a lot of meaning that was undone at the end of the tournament. Toguro chose selfishness and overwhelming strength over Genkai's choice of giving to the next generation and mortality. Then Yusuke comes, learns Genkai's lessons, is tested by Toguro, and proves Genkai right. Except she comes back, making the whole relying on others and passing the torch to the next generation idea pointless.
And why could she not deter Toguro from 10,000 years of Hell?
Why did Toguro feel the best recompense was pointless suffering and eventual destruction? He's so going to regret that after a week into those 10,000 years.
Watch the anime dub. The voice acting is great and the art remains consistently good, which you can not say about the manga. Also, Yusuke is a ghost for something like 25 chapters in the manga.
I still can't believe that Kuwabara never regained his dimension cutting ability. What kind of fucking bullshit is that?
>Why did Toguro feel the best recompense was pointless suffering and eventual destruction? He's so going to regret that after a week into those 10,000 years.
This part I kind of understood. He's a glutton for punishment. I think Koenma hypothesizes in one scene that part of the reason Toguro chose to become a demon was to trap himself in a form he detested as punishment for all of his perceived failures (letting his students die, breaking things off with Genkai, rejecting Genkai's path of selflessness vs. selfishness, giving into bloodlust and revenge, etc.) He's trying to repent or purge himself or take responsibility for his actions. That being said, 10,000 years is a fucking stupid amount of time. I can't believe even a masochist like Toguro could withstand that. The writer should have made the number more realistic. 100 years, maybe?
My autism was close.
>2nd to last episode
he was the announcer the entire time
what the fuck
Kurama and Hiei were the original yaoi power couple, right? Was it just because their character designs were really hot and they respected each other?
Kurama doubtless has magic plants for that sort of thing, too.
I don't think /a/ fully comprehends how much bitches loved Hiei back in the day.
The JP version wouldn't have Botan's adorable English accent, so I can't respect it.
Oh God, never even thought of that, he is literally perfect.
He can even go full romantic and sprinkle roses on the bed before pushing you onto it and kissing you like so. >>111289901
His tongue must taste fucking delicious.
Her return was the best part of the last tournament arc.
Dawg Togashi is the king of homogay. After Yu Yu Hakusho he wrote a series about forbidden love between two young men which turns into a love triangle with a gay clown.
So /a/, which is better? Homo X Homo or Yu Yu Homosho?
Koto trying to get Juri laid would take 2 minutes.
IIRC, Juri was introduced when the creepy mobsters running the tournament started to stack the deck against Team Urameshi.
One of my earliest waifus.
>Josuke and Okuyasu voiced by Justin Cook and Christopher Sabat
Fuck, this needs to happen, I want this to happen so bad, that shit would be too perfect.
His fights are bullshit and boring. He always wins with ease unless there's drama to be had, but that only happened like twice, and has a type of plant that's useful only for that situation and never to be seen again.
At least they don't stop to grind lvls in a live-action MMORPG in YYH.
