You backed it, didn't you anon?
I sure hope you're supporting the saviours of the anime industry.
>giving money to pay for Kill la Killyourself
Wish I got the first artbook
Nope, the first one wasn't anything more than mediocre and Trigger fucking sucks.
I laigh at the tards who gave money to fund LWA2. Hoes it feel knowing you gave them free money to spend on blow and hookers? Meanwhile we haven't see shit for LWA2 yet? When they finally do start making it it;ll be on a tight budget despite all the money they raised for it.
>the Cowboy Bebop game will never be translated
Out of all the anime games that could be localized, I would've expected that one to be a shoo-in. At least they put out the original music on CD.
Why do you keep saying KLK when we're clearly talking about LWA?
Yeah. They're lucky they did this before KLK. I wouldn't have been so generous after that disappointment.
I really fucking wanted to but I was a broke NEET at the time. I hope they sell some of the bonus goodies for people at some point. I really wanted some of that stuff.
>I backed every one in hopes that more studios would be willing to take our money.
>For some reason they just stopped though. What did we do wrong?
Because Kickstarter is basically begging for money and those companies do not want to be known as begging for money. Besides, if a project is not good enough to attract a team of sponsors, then it was not worth doing as a profit-making project.
LWA2 is an "art for art's sake" project. The time spent creating LWA2 represents an opportunity cost that could have been spent on a profit-making project instead. Thus, most companies would not bother or even tell their staff not to take time off doing little boutique projects when they need to spend all their time making sure the studio's major projects have the best chance of success and thus revenue-sharing for the studio from whatever percentages they were able to negotiate as part of the Production Committee.
Yeah, Kickstarting anime can basicallu only be used for projects where they'd get no funding elsewhere, so shorts or maybe for western releases. Otherwise, they'll come off as "we don't want to actually fund our own projects, you do it for us so we have zero risk" like with the Robotech shit.
Are you trying to say it's the same people who would eventually become the KLK fanbase? It's not like people funded LWA2 because of their love for KLK, we didn't even have any promo images yet when the Kickstarter was ongoing.
>LWA2 was 75% crowdfunded
The kickstarter was to add an extra 15 minutes of footage to the OVA. They might have gotten a shitton of extra money, but the OVA was already funded before they started the campaign.
But you guys Oreimo, isn't that enough?
Got the poster for that too
Alright, let's skip back to the TRIGGER goodies then
Yeah, for 20 mins
Now we get 45+ mins of Sucy
oh wait shit they went to Otakon last year? I'm just on the east coast for an internship so I'm not from the area, do you think they'll show up this year? They did the one in SC and anime-expo this year already right?
Aniplex and the author of Oreimo went to Otakon for the S2 OVA world premieres, while TRIGGER was at AX (and were there this year too)
They MIGHT show up, but I doubt it. Maybe 2015?
>mfw film reel clip
$100 well spent.
Also, I backed that shit before I even knew about KLK. I hadn't even watched Inferno Cop yet. I backed it entirely based on how much I enjoyed the first LWA.
>Trigger asks for $150,000 for a sequel to something relatively well animated and did for free
>Harmony Gold is asking for $500,000 to a PILOT for Robotech Academy
Wasn't the Robotech pilot supposed to be CG? And the money for LWA2 was to add 15 minutes of animation. I highly doubt that the Robotech pilot would end up being 15 minutes long.
>and did for free
They did it on the government's dole. It's essentially a free-for-all commission with the only caveats being the exact length and that junior animators are taught.
I don't want to give them publicity or anything but they do have some nice and simple designs.
Except Robotech is guaran-fucking-teed to have GONZOesque CGI circa 2003. It'll be 2015 and they still won't be able to surpass even Macross Zero's first episode, from 2002.
There was a guy who said he was dying of cancer and wanted to give thousands of dollars to them.
There was a thread about him, don't know if he actually went through with it though.
I aint no weeaboo faggot but I must admit..
I don't see why crowd funding is stupid. Its just another way of investing into the production of a product without having some suits in the way. it lets popular projects work when otherwise they might not have gotten a second look.
