Sorry to hijack this thread, consider it a bump for the translator's hard work.
I'm learning Japanese and I'm interested in translating things to help me learn and give something to others while doing so. However, because of my novice status, I'm not confident my translations are accurate and would appreciate feedback. Is there anywhere /y/ congregates to help with translations or just miscellaneous threads?

There's really no thread for that.
Best way to get better is to just pick a story, something you think may be easy, and translate it. If a word hangs you up, just inquire like you are doing now and you might get some assistance.
The more you do it, the better you'll get.

Thank you for your advice. The manga I'm translating now is probably the first one I've been compelled to translate. It has everything I love about yaoi: buff dudes, a reversible couple (they play じゃんけんぽん to determine the roles and they do both anyway, lmao) and good art. The mangaka is also a very hot guy, but that's just me dickpigging.
Hopefully I can share it soon and work on being of more use to /y/.

'Ass' is often used as a vulgar term in sex, and he was trying to choose his words carefully so as not to upset the major...WHICH ended up happening anyway. lol
Imagine any of the captains in Star Trek coming into sickbay with a rectal issue. I can hear the doctors saying "Lower your trousers, please" but not "Show me your ass, please".
Review page 13 of chapter 11 when he first discovered what was happening to the major. I did the same there.
