Because those aren't the true gods. Those are things humanity idealizes about itself. You can usually find representations of the true gods as something the "gods" put down to protect humanity. See chaos in zoroastrianism, titans in the greek pantheon, leviathan and behemoth in the abrahamic faiths, and entire menagerie of all kinds of shit in the pre Christian European religions.
