because i live in mexico in Baja California, really close to california and i just saw this weird phenomenon on the sky about two hours ago.
It was like a a blue foggy sphere, that started to grow and became green and more transparent.
The strangest thing is that the starts behin that thing were unusually brigh, like 4 times brighter.
It disappeared in about 20 minutes.

I saw this in Northwest Phoenix, it was at first an extremely bright white light that turned blue and greenish, and you could even kind of make out a sphereical object, as if it was transparent, and a lot of people are reporting seeing the same thing. I really dont think this was a missile launch.

It also moved very slowly. When Russia fired 26 missiles from the Caspian Sea it took 5 1/2 mins of full speed flight time to make the 1200 mile journey.

This "missile" is moving very slowly and was seen for a long time before the strange color change and light effects.

Its a bullshit poor excuse.
>>
>>16945258
see >>16945128
add some clouds for the more diffuse look. Add some altitude (distance) and it will look like it's not moving and be seen from 3 states. Alternatively if it's moving pretty much straight away from you it won't look like it's moving either
>>
>>16945258
Did you see the links I posted? I used to work at White Sands and public affairs would put out these notices only to have people like you freak the fuck out for nothing. High altitude missiles can be seen for many hundreds of miles. Period.

Read this and get back to me. These things fucking happen. If the one in the following link was seen in AZ from southern NM, it goes without saying that it was also seen in TX and northern Mexico.

http://www.militarytimes.com/story/military/tech/2015/02/25/pink-cloud-visible-in-arizona-after-white-sands-rocket-launch/24003579/

Also, the reason why it doesn't appear to move is that these are at extremely high altitudes. It's called perspective--look it up.

Most of the footage was taken from a great distance away. Additionally, in the video above it appears that the position of the viewer is aligned with the rear of the rocket. This would create/contribute to the illusion that the rocket is not moving, or moving very slowly.

I'm a former U.S. Air Force Missile Warning Analyst. It's clearly a multi-stage rocket/missile. Trident II is a logical explanation, the only current U.S. submarine-based missile in the inventory. Speaking as a Californian, we only see these big launches every 2-3 years (typically out of Vandenberg AFB) so we collectively freak out when we see them. Floridians know exactly what this is because they see it every couple months out of Cape Canaveral.

Of course, they'd freak out over a paltry little 3.0 earthquake if they felt one.

Things that go to very high altitudes are visible for hundreds of miles around on the ground. Rockets leave an exhaust trail. At night, this can be illuminated by the light of the burning rocket or by the sun at higher altitudes (even if night has fallen in the last few hours at ground level). The atmosphere is fine. Most NASA rockets use liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen as fuel and thus their exhaust is merely water vapor. With submarine-based missiles, they use solid fuel for safety and stability, which leaves other chemicals as exhaust but not dangerous at all.

UPDATE FROM THE NAVY: Navy Strategic Systems Programs conducted scheduled Trident II (D5) missile test flight at sea from USS Kentucky, an Ohio Class SSBN, in the Pacific Test Range off the coast of Southern California. The tests were part of a scheduled, on-going system evaluation test. Launches are conducted on a frequent, recurring basis to ensure the continued reliability of the system. So you believe what the media is saying? Isn't kind of weird that all of the details are slowly coming out after the event?

If anything, the military would have informed the public before hand if a huge event like this were to happen so they don't panic like they did.

The government puts out believable lies that keep the public from panicking and causing trouble. It's what they do every time there is something like this.

Also the words "scheduled" and "planned" is a dead give away that it's a lie.

I really didn't want to believe that this many people were this fucking retarded, but I think the Internet has very much taken our eyes off the physical world around us.

I grew up in Southern California and have lived here all my life. I've seen dozens of missile tests, and we were just lucky to get a cool show out of a rare night time launch. They usually do this stuff during the day.

In fact about 10 years ago I was driving north on the 5 fwy just starting to pass Pendleton and they had completely shit down the freeway because a middle test went awry and slammed a no-payload rocket into the hill less than 400 yards away from the road. People were pissed, I'm surprised no one seems to have brought this up.

tl;dr Internet has made people forget how the physical world's myriad of variables can make for some cool things.

If that is what I think it is, we're all doomed.
You see, an alien race probably might have the technology to come in, spray down a deadly virus into a highly populated area like that.
Then, they know that in a matter of time, most of the entire world would be dead.
So yeah, they're after our resources.
I am not sure how much longer we have.
We've had a good run /pol/.

Let's just say from the age of 3 until now I had night visitors, complex surgeries, and a birds eye view of the planet too many times over.

I would love for them to be caught on camera, but they won't. I don't know what "aliens" are, but as I got older it seemed to me that they were less and less likely to be beings from "outer" space. I'm off topic, but the point is, the crafts don't emit anything you or I could see. They just move and flash without trails or fanfare.

I just need to get this idea out there in case i'm right.

What if it is a missile but not ours? Someone fired a missile at us but we blew it up with "lasers" or some shit and right now were doing damage control till we can declare an act of war or find it an accidental launch?

For all intents and purposes I've got a massive stiffy for UFOs also, that's why I'm on this board in the first place. I'm old blood /x/ though, long before role play was rampant and the majority of our board culture revolved around debunking what we could to eliminate known variables.

Ok, that's all and well, but I'm not the one who believes this isn't a missile test. It was stated days beforehand that the navy would be conducting tests. There was confirmation tonight. The item in the sky was a classic trident II. Yet, everyone wants to believe it was an alien craft when it wasn't.

While I may need help, you and everyone else who thinks it is anything but a missile also needs a shrink or five.

No one has mentioned how after the rocket does it's blue trail bit and mushroom head deal; there's a moment just before the trail completely disappears. In this moment the exhaust is going the wrong direction, like the missile pulled a strict 180.

What I'm thinking is that maybe the blue lingering bit is some kind of runway that the spacecraft('rocket') laid down for itself, then turned around and used.

http://abc7.com/news/secret-military-operations-to-divert-lax-planes-for-a-week/1072890/

I'll go ahead and tell you what this was. It was a simple demonstration for the Brits and a show of force to Russian and China. It's a testing of a missile over a civilian population that has access to advanced recording technology that will go viral due to the nature of the thing in the sky. The US doesn't have to say anything, it's just the implication of "We have new tech. Your actions in the south china sea (China) and Syria (russia) are of no consequence in the long run. We are still advancing, and are powerful still"

That's all this is, puffing and showboating in a roundabout manner.

nah, it makes perfect sense if you'd rather the public do their hooting and hollering about GUBMENT TESTIN MISSILES IN MY BACKYARD after it's already a done deal instead of before. this way they don't have any anti-nuke protestors in sailboats and zodiacs needing to be shooed away from the test area before they can launch.

Also, east coast here: I've seen a bunch of nighttime launches off Wallops, including at least one Minotaur V (basically just a repurposed Peacekeeper with a moon probe on top instead of a bundle of nukes), and that looked pretty much exactly like the photos and videos people are posting of this thing.

I made some research on the UFO matter in China, on the July 7 of 2010

<<A spokesman from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) confirmed to ABC News that the matter is under investigation. He declined to disclose further details. A day after the sighting, however, an anonymous source told China Daily that authorities already discovered the identity of the UFO after an investigation but could not publically disclose the information because "there was a military connection.”>>

<<Some Chinese experts claimed that the strange sight was actually debris from a US intercontinental ballistic missile.Chinese officials later said that they knew what the object had been but were unable to make it public because there was a 'military connection.'>>

Does anyone else find the fact they're doing missile tests and it's near civilization more unsettling than aliens?
>>

It's so you fucks don't run to the airport after it happens enjoy your cali living
>>
>>16949685
That was my immediate thought on the matter.
>>
Looks a lot like a comet, but obviously too bright to be a comet.
Yeah, I would be a little nervous about missile tests near highly populated areas.
Obviously the military just doesn't give a shit.
>>
>>16949706
>too bright
what if its just a comet thats dangerously close to earth
>>
>>16949710
Well that's what I was implying.
If it was that bright, it would have to be really close to Earth, and I think a comet being that close would have been predicted by astronomers.
We would have been told about it...I would have assumed.
Everyone would have been like, alright, tonight that comet is coming close to Earth, let's run outside and take pics, or whatevs.
>>
Comet...shooting star...um, an old toilet being ejected from the International Space Station?
>>
>>16949723
when i say dangerously i mean >dangerously as in it could possibly hit.
and we're not being told because it would cause a mass panic.
buut most likely not

My gf lived there until 2009... Your info sucks
>>
>>16949820

One of three things has happened here.

1. She didn't live on Naval Air Station Point Mogu, she lived on Naval Base Ventura County. NAS Point Mogu ceased to be in 2000 and the name changed to NB Ventura County.

2. Your GF lied to you.

3. You don't have a GF and you're just being stupid.

You choose your own path, this is your story.
