Nope, every other picture turned out fine. never cleaned the lens at all that night. We had two roughly in the same spot and this is the only one that had anything like this in it.

did you print this out or get it developed? could be a processing artifact or something
Looks like a camera strap maybe. They often fall in front of the lens and produce such a white blur effect.
Unless your camera doesn't have a strap, in which case I'm dead wrong.
