So, basically this morning I was in the middle of the fucking nowhere with 2 friend, we use to go to this place with my metal detector for find some ww1 relics, the spot is good because is in the middle of the woods and far from trails, at some point we found a very deep sinkhole, we look inside it and we see this little girl bicycle on the bottom of it.
Shit gets pretty spooky

Are there any other schools of thought/religion that have a system for gaining discipline over the mind?
In other words, are Buddhists the only ones who have a system of mindfulness and concentration, or are there other philosophies or religion with these ideas?
For instance, did the Stoics practice mindfulness meditation?
I like the discipline over the mind, but I don't like Buddhism.

I too have encountered a ghost knock.
Mine was the classic triple "Knock knock knock" on my bathroom door. From an awkward place nearly at the top of the door.
Tiny bathroom so I quickly opened the door in response (maybe 2-3 seconds after knock. and know other sounds followed the knock)
No one there.. I look into the room.. no one there.. I sprint to the door.. one person sitting on the wing, doesn't have access to my room. Confirms that nobody had just left me room.
The floors were tiled and I'd have absolutely heard someone running away and there was absolutely no where to hide so quickly, anyway.
Not to mention after I confirmed nobody had left my room, I cleared it thoroughly.
It was very ominous.

So, recently (Around 13:50 CT or so) I was walking to my backdoor at my house. As I was looking for my key, I heard a very very faint Air raid siren. I have no way to explain this, and it was very faint, like it was in the distance, and I felt like I was the only one who could hear it when it happened. It maybe lasted three or four seconds, and then it was silent. Could anybody help me figure this out? [For context, this was heard in a town very near to the East of St. Louis]. Thank you to everybody who is willing to help out.

Hey /x/ I get these Lucid Dreams time after time but I honestly let go of the practice for a while. But I want to start again, with quicker results, is there a way to almost assure a lucid dream? I drink a shit ton of apple Juice before bed and then take melatonin pills and sometimes I get em. Any other tips and foods you suggest?
