Within the context of their story, sure. They should be able to do that.
Realistically though, something like that probably doesn't exist and if it did it would be hard to imagine it making specific actions towards humanity in general, let alone individuals.
Are you experiencing a memory loss/black out period type of thing? Is it possible you encountered some kind of psychological trauma? Seen something you shouldn't, experienced something you shouldn't.

I think I have precognition. Usually, it comes with the deja vu I often get. After I get a flash of deja vu, I know where my conversation is going. This is not some vague idea. I can actually know the exact words others will say. A good example is when I went to a hotel with my friend. My friend, who had done literally all the booking was telling me about our room. I had never been in that place before, but during our conversation, I immediately replied, "yeah I know, our room is on the 38th floor, the highest floor of the building". I somehow already knew that. Can someone help me? What is this supposed to be?
Edit: I also looked up symptoms of precognition on the web. Advanced empathy is one. I feel the pain of others when I see them get hurt physically. I've also been having weird dreams lately, which are of events which already happened, but ended up in a different way. Is that also a symptom?

I have told the phrase "Silence is Vanity" by a shadow in my dreams for a while now and I cannot figure out what it could mean, its never the same dream but the shadow shows up tells me "Silence is Vanity" and leaves which makes the dream a bit more lucid if anyone has any ideas i would apreciate it. I do not use any drugs and I'm not on any medication

Only if your conception of the 'universe' is more like a 'plane' of spatial existence, like midgard, or heaven, or the pure land.
For example, if our plane of existence, which you define as "universe" is a simulation, or part of a 'multiverse' : Then there are levels and bounds to the suspension of our particular 'universe' within a greater reality.
But, as the universe can be defined as 'everything', the universe that is simulated is in collective with the greater simulating reality as a singular 'everything', or the singular 'plane' is in collective with other multiverses. As the universe is everything, it contains everything.
There cannot be anything outside of everything by definition - so everything cannot be inside of anything, as there is nothing outside of everything.

What if we sleep because that's a way to keep us in this physical realm?
Ever noticed how more attentive to details and how everything starts to look weirder and the amount of shadows/lights you see the more sleep deprived you get? Ever noticed how that's kind of how you feel when you're drunk or high?
I believe it's possible that we're being dragged out of this realm slowly through the day.
It's more efficient to evolution If you spend your whole conscious time not aware of the non-physical world and sleeping is a way to reset that.
Give me your most bullshit theories about sleeping and the everyday reset we get.

I believe when you sleep you hop into another dimension of you that's on a different path. You know how sometimes you have dreams and you're around people you haven't seen in years or barely knew but you're all the correct age doing normal shit.
Also that, anytime you have deja'vu it's two of these dimensions splitting off into the void, when they cross or get close you can experience them through dreams.
If you die in a dream that was just another version of you actually dying and what's left clung to you.
