the Heroes TV show had all the heroes get their powers during eclipses.
The Flash had some of the people get affected by a PARTICLE ACCELERATOR exploding and gaining powers. CERN just last year some insanely evil ritual for the opening of their really long tunnel. CERN aka The Large Hadron Collider. This ritual was in view of millions yet almost no one knows about it except for the people who pay attention (us).

You can pretend to summon a demon if it gets you off, but in reality the demon chooses you. They're not like TV channels, you can't just change it when you get tired of one. But hell maybe I'm wrong and you can do whatever the fuck you want with demons.
