Here's a little background:

>this includes all sorts of weird traditional ceremonies and rituals, and a lot of creepy hiking/fishing trips
>generally a pretty chill family, lots of conflict about grandfather's superstitious bullshit though, and you can kinda see the mom kinda losing her mind over the years for some unknown reason
>live in the middle of bumfuck nowhere, you have to drive like thirty minutes to reach the nearest town

sorry if this is all jumbled, this is my first time rationally looking back and writing it down. if there's anything I can do to make it better do tell me.

What did they talk about?

This is about a ritual we used to do a few times every year. Apparently there are families in the city that also perform it, but none of my other Korean friends have gone through quite what I was used to.

>"to not startle the ancestors," grandfather says
>food is partially eaten, utensils are dirty, and the seat cushions are warm

this one time when I was about 6, the mom got tired of making the specific dishes (they're time consuming as fuck, since they take up the whole day if not more) and replaced them with easier ones.

Good and bad are human constructs, and subjective most times. Much like moral ideas such as right and wrong.

Since they're always subject to interpreter's bias, there really isn't a way to get rid of "bad".

Consider the following:

So years pass... Eventually my sons father, my son, and I get an apartment.

My friend started coming around that I hadn't seen in years. Since highschool.

She would hang out with me during the day... I asked why I hadent seen her in years and she says she was living with her boyfriend. And he went to jail, so she moved back in with her dad...

And I saw pictures of the women they killed... And it was the women who came to me that one night...

It's so complicated... I mean... Somehow this spirit knew my friend would see me... Knew the future... As if time isn't relevant after death.... It's crazy I know. But it happened to me.
