Working in a rail yard, there is long stretches of track side by side. Middle of the night I see someone in the very back walking next to the cars. I holler out, HEY , what are you doing. Upon closer inspection the man is wearing torn coveralls, with no hard hat. He then climbs the car and as I get right next to him I look up and he is gone.
>>
Not my story but my dad's

>be the 90s
>working at a saw mill
>mill is quite old and is still in use today (original mill is over 100 years old)
>The green chain shift gets done and people leave so he has to make rounds around the mill to make sure no one is stealing anything
>Goes around to an older part of the mill that was used when the "log roll" was a thing
>Sees an unfamiliar man in a brown vest and black pants
>Dad doesn't say anything but approaches man who is staring out at the water
>Man turns to dad and says "Gonna be a hard one tomorrow, days are getting colder eh?"
>Dad is like wat
>Man turns around and walks off toward the mill and disappears

Have a few more, might post more if I feel like it

Wyrmwood. Based in Australia, lots of action, some of the camera techniques are reminiscent of mad max, and it puts an original spin on the stereotypical zombie.
>Creature/psychological(?) horror
John carpenter's the thing (1982). Foreboding sound track. Tension that is always in the background, deep paranoia sub-theme, great acting. It's a good film to research.

/x/ I'm really not the kind of guy who believes in paranormal activity of any kind. But I started visiting this board about a year ago, because I like the spooky stories and you say some crazy shit. Guess it's my turn to sound a bit crazy.

About half a year ago there was a Missing 411 thread and some Anon posted transcripts of about a dozen of the stories of missing kids and people. This peaked my interest and for a while I started looking into bigfoot myth/legend/shady documentaries and so on. But after a while I just forgot about it. Then for some reason, last week I suddenly remembered it all again and started looking into the Missing 411 cases specifically and David Paulides work (also I watched Survivorman with Les Stroud, but everything in that was either clearly faked/tampered with or suggestive at best). Right now I'm listening to an interview with Paulides and listening to it is making me more and more paranoid, scared is perhaps a better word, because something is clearly amiss in the american forests. And at first I was like it has to be bigfoot or some other forest dwelling ninja, but now Paulides is hinting at more and more paranormal shit and honestly if some of the cases has gone down as he describes them, then I'm starting to believe it.
I guess what I'm trying to say is /Missing411g/ and please give me some rational explanations for all this shit.

Can we get a serial killer thread going?

>In 1991 search of Allen's residence. He owned and wore a Zodiac brand wristwatch. Allen lived in Vallejo and worked minutes away from where one of the first victims (Ferrin) lived and where one of the killings took place. A DNA comparison was also made with the DNA of Don Cheney, who was Allen's former close friend and the first person to suggest Allen may be the Zodiac Killer. Since neither test result indicated a match, Allen and Cheney were excluded as the contributors of the DNA, though it cannot be stated definitively that it is DNA from the Zodiac on the envelopes.

Arthur seems the prime suspect, but all the evidence linked to him seems circumstantial. What do you guys think?

Is there any value in trying to worship/reach/communicate with gods of dead civilizations?
Is it even possible and if so is anyone able to point towards any particular text that could be of value?
I'm not big on religion but the ancients certainly had the best gods.

If the phone you talk into may or may not have someone listening on the other end is it worth the effort?
It is a simple question OP, but you will find your answer in it.
>>
>>17359149

1. THEY ARE NOT "GODS", BUT DEITIES, AND THOSE DEITIES ARE DJINN/DEMONS/GHOSTS/DEVAS/ETCETERA, MOST OF WHOM ARE "EVIL".

2. DEFINE "VALUE".

3. YES, IT IS POSSIBLE.

4. WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO WORSHIP ANYONE/ANYTHING BUT GOD?

It's hard to say why I chose to write this here. I've been a regular on 4chan for a long time, and what I'm about to tell you is NOT a creepypasta or anything like that, but more of a warning. Has anyone here ever heard of the movie Prophecy, or seen those mutated bears in Fallout? I live in Sullivan County of Pennsylvania. Up here, a method of extracting natural gas called "Frac Mining" is taking place. In short, they drill to shale, and "crack" it by using a cocktail of over 100 carcinogenic compounds.
A lot of things exposed to these compounds don't live very long. Wildlife, plants, animals, even people, have suffered from it... However, there's a "thing" that wanders around attacking livestock, damaging cars, and destroying homes. People have attempted shooting at it, but from what people have said it either didn't even notice the shots or it "shrugged them off."
This thing is described as being a hairless bear with near-transparent skin, covered in tumors. Its eyes are all white, its face droops a bit, and its size is larger than a Chevy Spark, which is substantial considering the typical size of black bears around here.
A lot of locals are blaming the gas industry, associating the toxic chemicals with its severe deformities, dulled pain senses, height, abundance of tumors, etc. To some extent they may be right, because any and all sightings of what the locals are calling "Rawhide" have not made it to the news, newspaper, and is completely by word of mouth. The gas industry holds PA by the balls when it comes to negative publicity.
The theory is that Rawhide (if he exists) is destined for death within the decade due to severe deformities. The greatest fear is that Rawhide, having no fear of humans, may turn aggressive in the way that Rabies causes in the nervous system, and if something that can shrug off three 9mm shots to the abdomen gets angry, we got a MAJOR problem.

I suppose the point to this story, or maybe even the purpose of Rawhides existence is to serve as an example. Whatever you folks do, don't let the Frac Mining industry invade your homes. If they don't kill everything, they'll create something terrible.

A friend has suggested (demanded) I watch Twin Peaks, and I've tried, honest, but I just can't stay focused. It starts slow - does it stay slow? I've watched about half of season one, but I'm having trouble connecting to any of the characters enough to care about the plot. Maybe I'm not ready to watch? I was born in the late eighties, and totally watched and loved X-Files, but for some reason Twin Peaks just doesn't work for me. I'd like to know all about it without skipping to the end or reading episode synopsis. Suggestions?

Not a good enough excuse. I was born in the 90s and love Twin Peaks. It may seem slow at first but you'll begin to love it. S2 gets a bit annoying but is still worth the watch. New season is gonna be released soon after like 25 years so you might wanna start soon.

It's over-rated, trips.

I managed to get through 5 episodes and couldn't continue. Every character was uber annoying, the story was dumb, the dialogue was boring.

I saw a bunch of David Lynch movies because my roommate was into them & I thought they were trash desu.

Greetings, and welcome to The /x/ Files, the weekly news digest for 4chan's Paranormal board. Every Sunday, we take a quick snapshot of the mysterious world around us and bring it, in an easily readable magazine format, to the board. I am The Editor, the anonymous creator of this idea and collector of the news that will be following below. In the interests of legitimacy, I will be using a secure tripcode to post the thread; once the posts are completed, I will take the tripcode off and return to my anonymity.

It's Valentine's Day! I hope everyone has or will be spending a lot of money on purchasing crass commercialized products on the one day of the year earmarked for showing affection, rather than taking the opportunity to show it to your significant other every day! We've got a spate of great stories, the usual radio roundup and podcast paraphanalia, and a very speciak Editor's Note. As for me, well, I'm gonna go fap to X-Tan again. Scientists Detect Gravitational Waves for the First Time

Researchers at the Advanced Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (LIGO), a pair of ground-based observatories in Hanford, Washington, and Livingston, Louisiana, have revealed that they have for the first time in history observed the warping of space-time, generated by the collision of two black holes located over one billion light years from Earth. First proposed by Albert Einstein as a consequence of his General Theory of Relativity back in 1916, gravitational waves are ripples in the fabric of space-time that carry energy across the universe, and scientists have been attempting to detect them for 50 years.

Proffesor Karsten Danzmann, from the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics, said the detection was one of the most important developments in science since the discovery of the Higgs particle, and on a par with the determination of the structure of DNA. "There is a Nobel Prize in it - there is no doubt," He said. "It is the first ever direct detection of gravitational waves; it's the first ever direct detection of black holes, and it is a confirmation of General Relativity because the property of these black holes agrees exactly with what Einstein predicted almost exactly 100 years ago."

Birds of Prey Found Deliberately Starting Fires

Black kites and brown falcons in Australia have reportedly been observed starting bush fires in an effort to smoke out small animals.

Normally when there is a bush fire small animals are forced out of hiding and fall victim to birds of prey and other predators. Small fires often attract so many birds that there is insufficient fleeing prey for all, so a bird that was being beaten to its lunch might benefit from starting a new fire with less competition.

Robert Gosford, a lawyer whose extensive work with Indigenous people in central Australia inspired an interest in their culture, started to hear reports of black kites (Milvus migrans) and brown falcons (Falco berigora) picking up sticks burning at one end and dropping them into unburnt territory. The accounts came both from Indigenous people in northern Australia and from non-indigenous firefighters, park rangers and people charged with conducting early dry season burns to prevent the build-up of flammable material.

The reports suggest arsonist raptors can carry sticks at least 50 and possibly up to 500 meters without the fire going out or singeing the bird, explaining cases where small blazes have unexpectedly jumped fire breaks.

Titanic II Reportedly Being Built

In a callback to Issue One, claims of a replica of the Titanic, the world’s most famous “unsinkable” ship - which struck an iceberg and sank on its maiden voyage in 1912 - is under construction. Australian mining magnate and politician Clive Palmer is at the helm of the ambitious project to faithfully recreate the luxury ship, which will be about 13 feet wider to meet current regulations. More importantly, it will carry enough lifeboats for every passenger and its hull will be welded, not riveted, just in case it comes across a rogue iceberg.

However, reports about the vessel are unverified and sketchy at best. The article which 'broke' the story this week, in the Independent, ia almost verbatim from an article published last September by the Belfast Telegraph; since that news report there has been no further news about the project, no contract to build has been signed, and no shipyard has begun construction on the vessel. Furthermore, the announcement of the delay was made as far back as May of 2014. And Clive Palmer himself may be facing criminal charges for moving money from his mining business, which is massively in debt, into his self-titled political party. People in the cruise ship trade are doubtful that "Titanic II" will ever be built.

In spite of this mountain of contrary evidence, the maiden voyage of Titanic II is planned for 2018, from Jiangsu, China - where the ship is allegedly being built - to Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates.
