There are a LOT of different schools of Buddhism. They don't all share the same outlook on everything. In the most general sense, the purpose of Buddhism is to aid the individual in eliminating the poisons of greed, anger and ignorance. This is because it's stressful holding onto those in this world. Only people who agree with that premise should find value in the practice. How it is done depends on the school, variations on the Noble eightfold path are most prevalent.

Nihilism was common in the Buddha's day and was refuted from the start. Emptiness is the state of mind without ordinary conceptions and discriminatory thinking (I versus you, this versus that) disappear, seeing the world without judgment or mental boundaries. It is a very peaceful and joyful state but it's not "nothingness". It's called emptiness because no labels really apply.
The first noble truth states that there is suffering, not that all life is suffering. If all life were suffering, liberation would not be possible.

There are different types of desire in Buddhist terminology. Taṇhā is material desire and leads to suffering. Chanda is spiritual ambition and leads to liberation.

Nobody really knows, but early texts say it's an impersonal process governed by karma. People have their own reasons for believing in it. Some Buddhists don't believe in reincarnation, and it's not a prerequisite for practicing.

Contact a teacher/sangha in person and start practicing. There may be obstacles for you doing so - transcending those are part of the practice.

So, about two weeks ago, i was laying in bed, ready to go to sleep. I had my eyes closed and suddenly i was startled by a bright, blue light that illuminated my entire room. It was bright enough to shine trough my eyelids and it illuminated the walls and ceiling.
I tought it was my phone, but the screen was on black. I even tried to recreate this by turning on my phone, but the light wasn't nearly bright enough to illuminate my room like this light did.
It couldn't have been my laptop either since it was closed and turned off. When i looked outside (Btw, i sleep with my curtains open, i like it better that way.) there was no one there and no lightsource could be seen, so this was very weird. After this i went to sleep and nothing happened.
Until last night:
I was in bed again, trying to go to sleep. I was sitting up a bit and i was using the internet on my phone. Suddenly out of nowhere i got ''punched'' in the head, at least, it felt like this. After this hit i fell down onto my bed and i fell asleep. I still have a headache from this.
What could this mean, /x/?

The video in question is an old 'shockumentary' from the late 90's but there is a particular segment of this compliation I wish to draw your attention to.
At approx 00.50 seconds into the video we see footage of a firing squad execution of several Kurds purportedly filmed in Saddam era Iraq. What makes this video so interesting is what is caught on camera along with the execution. At approx 01:33min, as the firing squad empty their kalashnikov magaines into the ill fated kurds, two very bright looking orb like objects exit from two of the mens bodies (at what one would assume is the moment of death) and quickly fly across the screen. One orb is especially bright and seems to actually attract the attention of the cameraman who stops to track it for a second (pic related)
Most people miss this entirely and the vid itself is part of a gore compliation rather than anything paranormal related but I think this vid might show good evidence for the existence of the soul. Discuss.
Also, any info on other vids that capture paranormal phenomena at the moment of death would be appreciated.

My TV randomly switches itself on at either 3am or 4am. It comes on, makes the screeching noise of it switching on, makes the noise for 10 minutes with the light flashing green to red, and then, as soon as it began, it switches off.
It has been doing this for about 2 years. Never been on /x/ before, what the hell do i do?

I really do believe that the government began pushing the alien/UFO idea right around the time when they realized they needed a way to fly experimental aircraft without anyone knowing that's what's going on.

I dont think the US or any religious countries will ever admit to aliens. I believe they are afraid it will disprove god and that were not all that powerful and smart.
