Yes. It's a game, invented, and trademarked during the early 20th Century. That's all it is, however it can be a useful tool in delving into the minds of other people you play it with (pro tip: it won't work at all with only 1 person, obviously). On the other hand, some people will intentionally move the thing, trying to fuck with their friends, or whoever.

That's my tip too. Try not to intentionally move the thing when you play it with your GF. Let her do most of the questioning, and shit too, and you pay attention. The thing is if he was actually legitimate he would let people investigate themselves but he keeps saying he doesn't want "strangers" in his house. a little backstory on me: My mom had two brothers, one blew his brains out before I was born, the other was a junkie fuck who pimped out his wives and robbed stole and shot whoever he could for whatever he wanted that day. I myself turned into a junkie fuck (not as severe as all that but i was a homeless stripper, panhandling for cash, living in cars or whatever. I hadn't spoken to junkie uncle since I was 7 and my grandma gave him my number to try to talk to me about how to stop being a junkie fuck. We spoke for a little more than a year over the phone (he'd moved to nashville so i never got to see him just phone convos) before one day getting a call from my mom sobbing saying he was dead. I guess him and his buddies were drinking during winter 2014 and walking round town. He passed out on the sidewalk and they just left his ass there. He was found in the morning frozen stiff and dead.

Not this time. Everything in this game is built by math and code. Everything. Space stations, space ships, and even alien races, each with distinct cultural predilections and all. One might be a hostile warrior race, one might be a friendly trade-based species, the point was, the game creates the races by randomly choosing attribute levels. The AI for the aliens were based on these attributes, such as aggression, curiosity, intelligence, etc. and they were all procedurally generated. You could discover, make contact with, do business and trade, invade, kill them all, whatever. Each was totally different from the next, but all were based on the same code. It's a very economical and cool way to create more content than any game should be able to hold. I even asked him after the first alpha release how he got so many different forms of AI at such a high level of sophistication, and he rattled off something about natural selection that was way over my head. He shrugged it off as a ghost in the machine and kept working.

For the first time in the game, naturally hostile aliens started working in parallel with friendly ones. and almost overnight ALL of them became hostile to him. They worked together to amass large fleets of sophisticated warships and track him through space, trying to kill him. He ended up having to make his ship invulnerable while testing the game, because every time he'd log in, they'd find him as quickly as they could and attack him. Once he made himself invulnerable, they stopped attacking him, but they continued to watch every move he made.

About a month later, he'd made changes to the combat system and to test it he made his ship vulnerable again, with the expectation they'd attack him. They didn't. He attacked them, they didn't retaliate. He called me up to log in to test the changes instead. As I was playing with him, we were chasing each other through an asteroid field in fast moving frigates. I had a good idea where he was, down to about 180km radius, so I was looking at each rock individually, as the old movie trope of a ship hiding behind an asteroid is actually a pretty good strategy in this game. All I heard was "Ignore them" and I said "OK" and opened fire on him. The moment I did, they all aggro'd on me and killed me instantly. We were both laughing pretty hard, and I didn't think anything of it at the time.

Two days later, he called me on skype and told me to log in and warp to his location. I did. He told me to take a close look at the alien space station that had just been constructed in orbit of the planet he was at. When I did, I didn't understand at first the significance of what I was looking at. The space station had written on it, in my "handwriting" if you can call it that, "I'll find U" and a picture of a dick. I said "why did you put that on a space station?" and I'll never forget the haunted tone in his voice when he said "I didn't."

Is it just fancy optic illusions or is there more to it?

Human life on the ground is totally down to the individuals perception to the world around him. There is a part of your brain which determines how quickly time goes by, for some life may seem much shorter than to others. Similarly this concept can be used to perceive other things in our world.
When we humans try to think of unknowns, we try to visualize them as much of our life is lived through our eyes, when in a different reality; vision may not exist as we know it. This is one of the common big blockades to research like ours.

You have never known what it's like to not be alive, even though you were at one point not alive. Consciousness is much more than just a blobby mesh of atoms inside a skull, you can't kill consciousness by killing a body, but you can erase memories.
Does the universe/multiverse/maverium(our code word for the unknown existence) exist or not? when did it start? It would be paradoxical for it not to exist and therefore it does. As far as your memories are concerned, your existence started at your body's birth, but by theory this is technically impossible as your consciousness is a spirit separate to your body.
We might be extra dimensional beings on a spiritual level, and this could play a role in understanding some of our own unknown mysteries.

Biologists accept that they don't actually know what consciousness is or how it happens. I am a researcher of consciousness and it has lead me to my bigger theories of existence. We have since incorporated the maverium into our work and we have undertaken various experiments to better understand the possibilities of the maverium, some have been successful.
My team are getting to a stage in our research where we may finally be breaking light on this huge mystery of life and existence. I am not sure whether how long it would be before allowing the general public to know of our research. I have been allowed to give vague statements of theory only so far. I have wanted to share my knowledge with people for a very long time.
