Do you ever notice how you never can find Cthulhu? The giant octopus humanoid dragon thing? Shouldn't be that hard right?
Truth is, he is the one recording and maintaining these underwater cameras for the US government, as his history as a Navy Seal landed him a job as a CIA Operative in the Pacific Ocean as a spy, he discovered the entirety every ocean, and relayed it back to the US, and his current job is to find any cameras not owned by the US, and tail them, making sure they don't see anything THAT major, like Atlantis and the like.
With enough practice, is it possible to build an entire, recurring world through lucid dreaming and live a paralel life there?
Can you accumulate a lifetime of memories there? Does your brain explode from the overload?

Your brain naturally scrubs out dream memories. Even the most terrifying nightmare eventually fades or becomes more like a recollection of a recollection, if that makes sense. It's why keeping a journal is absolutely essential for any kind of dream work.

Lucid Dream is nothing like this. Lucid Dream is just stupid simple: you, awake, in spirit form.
And if yoou can be awake in spirit form you will be able to see and interact in the Spirit Realm.
So, Lucid Dream is not a "place" for you to try to build a parallel life. Its the real life. The Material Realm (where we are incarnated) is only a limited part of the real Realm (the Spiritual Realm).

I was a fearful child. I think most childen are.
Imagination was different back then. It was an active part of reality. If I thought hard enough about something I could usually see a shadow of that thing on a noisy surface, like a carpeted wall or even in the visual noise I saw when I closed my eyes. Imagination made things real enough to act on. I once had a panic attack because I thought the house was going to burn down after conjuring a vivid image of a sailor man engulfed by flames in the hallway leading to my room. I ran out in the garden and refused to go inside for a long time.
Fear was different back then. The terrors were at the same time unreal and way too real. On some level I knew it was bullshit but on another level it was just so real, so imminent. The sailor man would bring fire to our house.
The sheer power that imagination has on a child's mind is enough to make the threat of those terrors unbearable. And you're just a child, so there's not much you can do, you would be helpless against them if they were to materialize.
So we made rituals. Big and small, simple and elaborate, to keep the terrors from materializing. Doesn't matter as long as they gave us some sense of control.
A classic example is checking under the bed for the monster before going to sleep. Maybe a particular parent had to do it.
So I invite you to share your rituals from when you were a child that protected you from the terrors, if you can remember them.

I remember I used to have a ritual where I casually made my mother (or grandmother if I slept over at her place) tell me "good night" before going to bed. It had to be "good night", not "nighty nighty", not "sleep tight", but "good night".
I couldn't just straight up tell them why it had to be that way, and if I told them "good night" and they responded with something different I repeated "good night" until I got the same back.
The reason for this, of course, was because if my mother or grandmother told me "good night", that meant that they had an obligation to make sure that I had a good night, and so I was safe from them murdering me in my sleep.

A great book. Hmm, don't remember the President "O" bit though, but it's been a long time since I read it.
Main things I remember were:
"Terrorism" was in a three categories, there were "pros" that did it for what we'd now call the 'lulz', there were political terrorists, and there were 'muckers' people that had just had enough of life and went on killing sprees, running amok. The last group reads like what the Muslim nuts have been doing of late, just shooting the shit out random spots, or running around with bladed weapons hacking at people -- but in the book there was no religious justification, just people overloaded on modern life, hmm, which I guess kind of could apply still... food for thought.
Book centered on a company buying a nation, as the multinational corps had more money that some nations -- this seems self-evident today, but back then it was a bit out there.
It's a great book.

In recent light of events, I have decided to tell my story. I shall stay anonymous because I do not want to end up like the last person that told there tale.
It was the year 1992 and I was 8 years old. Me and my mom stood along the gates of a park titled in golden yellow lettering the magical words "Disneyland."
As I walked through the doors the warm, summer air filled my nostrils and the bright ball of light known as the sun touched my young, smooth skin.
My mother held my hand as the day went on and on. Ride after Ride, the day went on as normal.
But, as time drew away I noticed more of what the last author called "gascots."
They were these child-like figures that had plain clothes as if their clothes were from decades before and the most defining feature was their masks. Gas masks of the famous mouse covered the children's faces. Just as I saw them they seemingly disappeared into the crowd.
As a child I was seriously freaked out. And I decided that I would figure out what those children were doing there and just why children just a little older then I was wearing suck spooky masks.
The time was 5:00 Pm me and my mother had just gotten off "It's A Small World" and that's when one of the tiny bastards popped up. I let go of my mother's hand and ran towards the spot where it stood. My mother started chasing me but as if I was one of the children I too disappeared into the crowd.
I soon followed the child and He went behind one of the bright and happy buildings and as I thought I had cornered him wasn't there. My mother soon found me sitting in the corner. She took my hand and that's the last I saw of the gascots and as I said last I don't want the same fate to happen to me as it did to the last author.

So I'm not a very good writer at all but there has been some strange but not terifying things that has been going on at my new house.
1st thing was my entimanns donut box kept opening, 2nd happened at 3am this "morning" when I woke up to my light on? I always turn off my lights before I go to sleep and Ik I turned them off simply because I used my phones light to find my charger on the floor last night.
Also I tried going back to sleep after that and had afew dreams that lead to sleep paralysis Maybe I'll update this if other things happen. I'm thinking about buying. I live in the basement btw.

I've had a very strange thing that has been happening for the last week. I work at a hotel at nights and have to do security walks of the building. Every night for the past week or so at 2 am while walking around the outside of the building, I have encountered someone flashing a light(flashlight?) at me. Same time every day. Same spot. Someone stands maybe 100 yards away just on the other side of a street light so I can't make them out but I swear I know them. I just literally moved to the other side of the country and don't know anyone. I've asked the other guy at work but he doesn't know what I am talking about.

Hey, /x/, i have a story to tell and i ask for help.
I won't greentext because I'm a lazy shit.
Last night, i get up for a piss, and go to the downstairs toilet. But since the light is on, and the fan in there connecting to the light humming, i thought my grandma was in there, so i go upstairs, and in there both taps, the sink and the bath ones were running. I'm kinda sp00ked now, i take a piss after turning them off and go downstairs and the fan is still humming in the toilet with the light off and i check it out, and the tap is running there too. Super sp00ked now.
I go check all the taps again and they're all off. I go to bed and wake up early, at 8 before anyone else and the downstairs and upstairs toilets taps are running again.
Recently my granduncle and grandma died, so is my house haunted? If so, how do i get rid of it? Noone in the house is a sleepwalker and mentally ill.
