This is a thread for stories about times you, or someone you know, almost died (or was dead and came back).
Any information on how it affected you, or the person it happened to, would be great. Also if they saw or felt anything unordinary.

>Look both ways, there's one car coming but it's a good ways away, and definitely has time to slow down (speed limit in the area is 25)

>The car from before zooms past, going atleast 45-50, barley tries to swerve and almost hits a tree

Really the interesting thing about that situation is that I had never met that guy before that day, and also that's the same spot where another person got hit a few years back. She was ok, but still interesting.
I can say since that happened I've been thinking a lot more about death, and I visualize my death much more often than I used to.

Well there's one story from when I was about four or five years old. I had an infection that had spread to my brains, or something like that. My fever was about 42 degrees celcius (fuck Fahrenheit).
What I remember most about my illness is that one day, I saw myself lying in my parent's bed with my mother trying to wake me up. "Anon, wake up. Please wake up, Anon!" And after her almost breaking down in tears, I woke up, back in my body.
I am a sceptic when it comes to things like this, but this really was an out-of-body experience.

How do I go about using grave dirt for revenge rootworking?
I absolutely want to take the risk on crossing somone who recently stole from me. I thought they were good friends, and they stole a gold chain and a few ps4 games when I allowed them to hangout in my home alone, I went to buy us a case of beer and they fucking steal from me.
Normally,I'd say fuck it, my fault for letting people in my home, I can rebuy dumb ass games.
But I cannot rebuy a chain that was given to me by my now dead mother. The grave dirt is hers, paid for in fresh flowers and a dime from 1952 that was 90% silver.
So I for sure want to cross them. I havnt let on I know,(I didn't notice the missing items until the morning after they left) as I figured I may need to visit thier home to complete the spell.they act like everything is normal, but when I mentioned 'loosing' one of the games they both got quite and just changed the subject.litteraly like this

Didn't even invite me, probably sold the chain to afford it.
I am certain they stole it, they are litteraly the only people who have been in my house for 9 months.

I know it's honestly my own fault for trusting ANYONE alone in my house, but like I've said, I knew and saw these people almost everyday for more than a year, I thought they had earned enough trust for me to go to the gas station and back....
I doubt anyone will help me, but it would be greatly appreciated.
Fighting is not an option by the way, I'm sickly small and they would easily overpower me together.

It's a silly question but it comes from a serious train of thought, so please hear me out.
Could a ghost, or a haunting, reach space?
Last night a friend and I were joking around about the Pope and how much holy water he could possibly bless, and we touched the topic about the range and power of curses. We got serious when we asked ourselves if spirits are bound to Earth in a manner similar to gravity.
Are demons or spirits stuck on Earth? Could it be possible to summon an avatar of a deity inside a spaceship? Would they be affected by space in the same way we are? Could a spaceship be haunted, much like the Flying Dutchman myth?
I am genuinely curious about this topic. What if there's something else out there we've yet to awaken? What if our deities really turn out to be Old Ones, and they are as cruel and disgusting as our books describe them to be?

I've been doing research on many paranormal topics over the course of 5-6 years, mostly focusing on the spirit realm, ghosts, soul, angels and demons, energy manipulation and so on.
As far as I know (and of course I might be wrong, it's never good to consider your truths to be absolute) most entities are basically trapped in earth's magnetic field. That also includes servitors, thoughtforms, poltrgeists and many other non-physical beings with more or less sentience and intelligence.
Of course this invisible prison is not absolute, but much like escaping earth's atmosphere and gravity in a space shuttle, a great amount of energy is required. And I mean a shitload of energy. And when you end up there, it's the same as space - black, lifeless void, so no one would ever bother to put that much effort to end up there.
tl:dr : odds of successful summoning in space, or hauntings, or space ghost are almost non-existent. In space you are alone and no one can hear you scream.

There could also be spirits or non-corporeal surreal beings existing in space. Is there a site or somewhere that has a regularly updated list of weird, vaguely unsettling games, particularly indie games? I'm not talking about outright spoopy shit, just this sort of feeling that things aren't quite right as you're playing it. Especially things like large empty quiet levels, jarringly outdated 3D graphics, and a general sense that the game itself is unfinished or a prototype.

Jonathan Blow's "Braid" is fantastic for this. It was released first for XBox 360, but there's a Microsoft Windows port for it. But it was also in 2008, which was apparently 8 years ago, and yet it feels like the blink of a goddamn eye for me, and it also makes me reflect on how fucking old I am, and then I realize that basically everything I do is a game where I get this feeling that things aren't quite right, and my entire existence is filled with large, empty, quiet levels, jarringly outdated 3D graphics, and a general sense that things are both unfinished and prototypical.
But you should definitely check out Braid.

So I have always been able to lucid dream every night since I was around 6 years old ( im 22 now) I have tons of dream journals and can remember many, many of my dreams. I only just found out people need to actually train them selves or work hard to actually lucid dream. What does it mean if you can just do it all the time everyday for years? Also for those who are trying, it's not worth it. It fucking sucks feeling actual pain and getting killed all the time or feeling genuine feelings in your dreams, it's awful.

50 millionth thread about lucid dreaming by children who think lucid dreaming is either: some free vidya gaem or access to some secret world.
Listen up, this is waking consciousness. If you manage to fall asleep aware that you are doing so you might be able to dream and keep that awareness. To practice people usually recommend the habit of looking at your hands during the day. When you look at your hands during a dream they will not look like they usually do and you'll realise you're dreaming. This also reinforces that you do not know anything, not even your own hands, without having data incoming to reinforce the vague pictures you call memory.
Once you can dream lucidly, and get over all th eflying and fucking movie stars and other wish-fulfillment bullshit, you can move up to the next level: Pellucid dreaming.
This is where you just let the dream take whatever path it will. If a nightmare arises, let it resolve itself. If silly images mix themselves up, let them arise and fall. This helps with every day life as well, you can watch life without letting it run your feelings and reactions.
The next step is awesome: you keep your awareness in the dreamless sleep between dreams. There is no You and nothing to be aware of, it is blackness and emptiness and silence like nothing else, it's the ultimate rest from the turmoil of ego and attachment. Anyone can do this, it takes no talent, it's the ultimate meditation, dreamless sleep. Awareness without time or place or name. In a way it's like being God before the Universe.
Lucid dreaming, big deal, there's two more whole universes to get to.

It was a lion probably some idiot brought a young male, it's mane not fully grown in yet, back to France and it escaped.
From what I remember the beast was cow sized reddish fur with a dark line down the ridge. Spots were often a feature, which indicates the lions young age, sturdy front sleek hind quarters and a thin tail with a tuft on it. That combined with the ability to jump 30 feet, carry off fully grown humans, a preference for open field killing and the common tactic of cutting off air flow make me sure it was a lion.

What I find most anticlimatic is when the writer builds up a decent atmosphere and then just smashes it by revealing the bloodied, 6-limbed abomination with black holes for eyes and razor sharp teeth as it lets out a bone-chilling shriek and lounges at the reader in what can best be described as a literary jump-scare.
The best scary stories rarely give you a peek behind the veil. I guess I've never really taken a liking to gore and stuff. It's not that that can't be good also, but sure as hell ain't scary.

I remember as a kid on more than one occasion I'd see cars driving backwards, as well as driving with no one actually behind the wheel/in the car. I seem to remember seeing this pretty clearly, and on more than one occasion. I have no idea or explanation for it, just saw what I saw

Straight to the point I have three honest questions.
1. What is the scale of the earth under the flat earth theory? So many flat eat there say that the entire earth can be seen from stop the right mountain, but also claim the apparent "horizon" is caused by the human eye only being able to see 15 miles.
2. How far up is our "simulated sky"? So many people say "when I go to the beach I see ships that are hundreds of miles away with the naked eye!" but same issue as the first question. Why can I see the sun and moon without a telescope? Are they really only a thirty minute drive up to reach? Why hasn't anyone tried to steal them yet if so?
3. If the earth is a Petri dish in shape, where do cave systems go? Many have been sited as being well over 15 miles deep and from all models I've seen, the earth is shallower than the sky is high.
So why if I can see the sky, which must be lower than my 15 mile range of vision, can cave explorers go deeper than 15 miles below the surface, when the earth is less than 15 miles thick?
Now before you lash out crying shill or troll or disinfo, I am genuinely curious. I am a scientific mind having been raised by a very scientific ruling class and if I have been raised and taught wrong, I want to know. But I need help.

Boys over the past few years ive had various dreams and visions of an etheral blue stag wandering in an endless pine wood. This wood is also covered in snow and the stag has had an unearthly blue glow about him. Pic related is what it is ive seen in my dreams. (Hand drawn) Have a feeling that its a calling to walk the less tread places of the world on my own.
I think it may be Cernunnos. Ive prayed to celtic gods and the olympian gods. Yet none have struck me as real as this. Anyone else out there with a strange attachment to the stag?

Pitch black at first and all i can feel is my breath.
The wood slowly begins to glow a faint blue in the distance. The light is coming from him. He wanders around forraging aimlessly and hopelessly in the deep snow.
The wood is fucking dead quiet. Like its about to snap in two. A twig snaps and his eyes look right at me. Another crack and he bolts off leaving only darkness between the trees. I always follow.
I swear ive seen him at least once while im awake.(Could be just me though.)
