At work today we were having "what would you do with za warudo - esque time stop powers. The bartender heard us, and caught me when my friend wasn't around. He said very little, but basically said that time stop is real and he's seen it happen before, but the cost is " somethin that you can't even imagine." Normally I'd dismiss this as fucking crazy bullshit from anywhere else, but bartender is older and very smart (or sane, at least). I don't even think he was particularly religious, but he spoke about this shit like he really believed it.
Tl;Dr: man at work heard me talking about what I would do if time stop were a thing. Mentions power is real but cost is astronomical.
Pic related is me jotting down notes during my break. Love to see some input from others on /x/, what do you think this power entails? What is the cost? Why was he so scared of it?

recently i started developing an interest for something i found in a book, about charging items with your same energy for good luck, money, love etc.
The thing is, i was scared to even try this shit, i'm not a religious man, shit, i'm not even baptized but i know there are energies we should not mess around with. So it was only two days ago that i dared to make my own talisman. and i did it to get girls to like me, basically, i focused on that and only that.
I drove away from my town so i could be by myself to make the... prayers? i don't know how to call that process btw please excuse my english, i'm not a native speaker. i started at 5:30 pm sharp but it was not purposely i just happened to find that spot at that time. It took me hlaf an hour kinda, but i stayed there becase the sunset was breathtaking.
Anyways, i got back to my house at like 7:30 and when my phone connected to the wifi i got two messages from different girls but wait, here comes the cool part. Both messages where sent to me at 6:30 with like a 5 minute difference between each other, and BOTH messages were about how the girls wanted to go out sometime with me, or hang in my house.
You can imagine how i felt, i'm just a fucking autist that spends every weekend by myself in my room playing bass or watching movies. I figured i shold be grateful, but... TOWARDS WHOM??? my talisman? myself? the sweet spot i found? the book?
So i drove back there the next day just to say thanks, i sat there like a whole hour just talking to the wind about how it all went and how grateful i was.
Can you tell me towards whom should i be grateful? i'm so cofused right now. Help me with this one /x/ i always contribute a little in the creepypasta threads

Let's say the aliens are real and become discovered, do you guys think they'd be with us or against us? I mean why WOULD they be against us? They could benefit humans by FAR, and we could possibly benefit them as well.

I wouldn't doubt the possibility of pirate-tier aliens/beings, but I feel that if there are multiple intelligent races out there, there would be geo-politics on a cosmic/galactic-scale. The reason why we might not have been publicly visited or conquered is because there is great responsibility placed in the hands of species that can travel star systems and there is probably some sort of treaty established to keep things somewhat in order. Let's say for an example, China attacks/invades the Philippines. If they did, other nations would immediately intervene and would punish China. Now, replace China with an intelligent alien race and the Philippines as the human race.
we probably have been observed, but not interacted with (at least in this cycle of human civilization) because we're not developed enough. We'd inevitably bite the hand that feed us if they decided to come out to the public and say whaddup or tried to speed up the process.
I think this because the universe is likely old as fuck. billions of years old. enough time to allow this and for stuff to work out. What we currently can imagine is only a fraction of what truly is. I feel that a common idea that intelligent beings will gravitate to is that life is precious. life is rare as fuck on a cosmic scale.
tl;dr: Galactic geo-politics is a potential reason why we haven't been conquered, and that "they" would be willing to cooperate once we're ready.
