I recently noticed something has become deeply unsettling in my house. I live in a decent sized house where there have never been any deaths or similar tragedies in a really small new england town. I've lived here for 24 years now.
Only recently (about 2 months), however, the bedroom I've used for my whole life has started to make me feel really... uncomfortable. I'm not saying anything paranormal is going on, this could all be psychological... But I just need to explain this feeling to someone.
I've found more and more that I've been unable to sleep in that room. For 20 years this room has been a reliable place of peace and comfort, and now every time I'm in that room, I start to feel myself being overcome with a looming sensation of absolute dread.

Yeah, I'm pretty much convinced. I've never experienced anything definitely ghostly myself, but I've heard a lot of stories sourced to credible witnesses. You can discount some of them (infrasound, grief-induced hallucination, etc), but when you're done there's still enough left that there's something to it.

i believe all of the above, but i don't know what it is. i've never had one of those neat, tidy experiences, or personally know anyone who has, where something is experienced that relates directly to someone who died in the house or was related somehow to one of the people who experienced it. so, i know it happens, but i don't know why it happens. i don't jump to the assumption that it's the spirits of the dead or a demon. maybe it's overlapping realities, maybe it's something about human perception we don't understand yet, or maybe it's come kind of reality glitch/slip. but they aren't just delusions and there is often some kind of intelligence behind it.

Of course the universe is "probably" a simulation. That's obvious from pure logic, if we can simulate a universe, which isn't impossible as far as we know, then a "real" universe would have multiple, perhaps shitloads of simulated universes within it at any given time, and those simulated universes would have their own nested simulated universes all the way down. With our odds being 1/nearly infinity of being in the "real" universe, saying we're "probably in a simulation universe" is a gross understatement.
Either way it doesn't matter a single bit because our universe is as real as it ever was/is/will be and we can't ever know anything more "real" because of the limitation that everything literally defined as "real" is an aspect of the universe.
