Certainly, you didn't futureproof very well given that games are designed for consoles, and all the consoles (current and nextish-gen) have twice as many execution contexts* as your processor, and the same number of execution contexts as an i7.

It's not about relative performance vs consoles, it's about performance vs other PCs that aren't bottlenecked by having half as many cores as the games are all written for.

All AAA games are written for consoles first, because that's where the market share and money is. Soz. Consoles have eight cores, so modern games have eight threads.

You have four cores. Four is half as much as eight. You have half as many cores as the games are written for. The number of cores the games expect is twice as many as you have. Each of your cores has to run two threads.

Your processor is literally half the processor the game was developed on. Modern games are only going to get more threaded and processor-dependent. If you wanted a processor that wouldn't be a massive bottleneck in a year or so, you should have got an i7.

Simplest way to do that is to get the Pixlr app on your phone if you can,

or use a program like Paint.net to burn the skin using the burn tool.

it doesn't sound too complex, just count the ascii codes to find uppercases and spaces, and then find out which option you want with an if, or a switch depending on which is true. Use booleans for that.

It looks like an examination-style homework, rather than a learn-by-doing-style homework.

That's why the program does a bunch of things that are complicated and non-useful.

The examiner will have a test harness, that can run the code through a bunch of edge-cases, and mark it automatically.

OP should be applying what he learned earlier in the course, had he been paying attention.

If OP makes an honest stab at it, he'll get at least one answer to any specific question he asks, coming from someone who could write that in his sleep.

If OP wants his homework done for him, he'd better hope someone more charitable comes along.
