In the most recent episode of Occultic;Nine, there was a plot device called a kotoribako.
It's basically a box that has a lot of body parts put into it taken from women and children. Fingers, organs, etc. It's then buried underground to complete the ritual.
The result of it is supposed to be an immense curse that begins to kill off more women and children until none are left.
Or something like that. That's how it is in Occultic;Nine anyway and I'll just assume you're asking it because of the recent episode and you saw it online somewhere.
By the way, I recommend catching up with it, it's good stuff.

I'm a fuckin Linux scrub, wanted to get into it because you can customise it to what you want, and JewSoft won't interfere as much
I'm starting off with ubuntu, installing with a live USB, but when I boot into the install menu my mouse cursor is stuck in the top left corner of the screen. However, I can click other places on the screen, as I booted from the USB to "try ubuntu", so the screen shows the mouse in the top left corner, but the mouse is actually elsewhere. I've googled this and tried heaps of solutions but the one person that seems to have my exact problem no one has answered.
I have an nvidia card, and two monitors, with the only change in position of the mouse swapping between the left corner in the first monitor, and the left corner in the second.
I have tried:
Using virtual console to see if any xinput pointers were interfering, none were, disconnected everything except the mouse. I have tried multiple mice. Swapped the graphics drivers from the ubuntu standard and the nvidia one.
No idea at this point. Made a shitty graphic to show where it gets stuck.

You might want to try creating the USB with rufus. At least unetbootin makes it's own changes to the .iso, breaking some distros.
I've literally never had an ubuntu install work out of the box, somehow it manages to be shit like that.
On another note mint isn't really any better.

Requesting some information on a show called Galaxy Express 999.
I'm interested in it, but it's pretty long. In my experience, generally shows that run for that long fall into having episodic plots that aren't really relevant to the overarching story. I'm hesitant to call it filler due to the confusion with "filler arcs" in anime (which in my opinion can actually be beneficial if they make a point of threading them into the story and adding to it), but I suppose that's what I mean. Is this that kind of show, or does it do something different? I'm not saying it's something I wouldn't enjoy but it's not something I'm looking for.
While I'm at it, any other recommendations for shows (doesn't have to be anime) that are long but not highly episodic?

I haven't actually seen the anime, but from what I've heard on /a/, one of the biggest flaws is episodes that are reskins of reskins of previous episodes. It'll start to feel really repetitive after a while. But if you watch it on TV, or just one every week or something, it may be fine, I don't know.
But as I said, I haven't seen it, but a common criticizm is that it gets repetitive and recycles episode plots.
