Hey /wsg/, I'm looking for recommendations from anime purists and then for people to tell me why my tastes are shit, preferably in that order.
I'm not super into anime, but I've watched a few shows recently and they've all been great. I like that I can binge the shit out of 26 episodes and have a (usually) complete story. Anyone have any recommendations for non-moe adult anime? I've basically been going down the list of popular 90s anime (Berserk, Evangelion, Bebop) and I've loved it so far. Pic related is everything I've seen so far.
Here's a list of stuff I've seen recommended, anything on here I should watch right away? I can't sleep so I figure why not watch weeb shit.

I personally wouldn't use pictures from the same site if I had to make a fake profile. If you must, use someone from a country that speaks a different language.
Flicker has high quality images and professional photographers. Most don't have selfies or pictures of themselves but it's not hard to find them.

I bought a pair of Audio-Technica M40x headphones without realizing that the jack doesn't support my iPod classic or my laptop. It's 3.5 mm. Am I better off buying a TRRS to TRS converter? Are there any iPod compatible cables for the M40x?

Most headphones nowadays use a normal headphone jack with a guitar-lead-style adapter that's part of the plug and pulls off or unscrews.
Google suggests yours do too.

I'm looking for an action anime that feels like a Metal Slug game. Any suggestions?
For those that don't know, Metal Slug is a series of arcade side scrolling run & gun games that was very popular in the 90s. It started off pretty normal - a spoof/parody of World War 2, where a group of commandos were trying to stop totally-not-Nazis from destroying the world, but the further into the series it went, the crazier it became, with the characters eventually having to battle against aliens, zombies, oversized animals of various kinds, cyborgs, giant robots, and sometimes even literal gods. Most of the fighting they did using guns, but there was also a variety of vehicles at their disposal, that got crazier and crazier as the series went on as well, starting with just conventional ones, such as tanks, planes, submarines and helicopters, and ending with miniature (and sometimes proper-sized) mechas and animals with turrets attached to them.
Can you think of an action anime that has that feel and those levels of being overall batshit insane? It can be a series or an OVA (if it's a series, I'd like it to have a conclusive ending and not require of me to read any manga afterwards), and it can anywhere from the mid 80s till now, as long as it fits. Thanks in advance for the help.

I recommend an old OVA called MD Geist. I think it's exactly the kind of batshit insane you're looking for. There's only two episodes so you have nothing to lose by trying it.

I heard handbrake is good for that kind of stuff, but I've used it once before, but it didn't really work properly for me. I was probably using it wrong anyway.
