Can someone please help me figure this out? I don't think this answer is right. Shouldn't I be getting four answers instead of two, since it is to the fourth degree? I am pretty sure I am just doing this wrong anyway.

the second to last line is correct, I don't understand the others.
Basically you need to substitute z = x^2 and you get
z^2 + 4 z - 21 = 0
which can be solved as usual (either by looking or with the formula
z1 = -4/2 + sqrt(2^2 + 21) = -2 + 5 = 3
z2 = -4/2 - sqrt(2^2 + 21) = - 7
so you get
(*) z^2 + 4 z - 21 = (z - 3)(z + 7)
and by substituting back
x^4 + 4x^2 - 21 = (x^2 - 3)(x^2 + 7) = 0
The first factor gives two solutions, x = +-sqrt(3), the second no real solution since x^2 + 7 > 0.
You get always four complex zeros / linear factors (counting multiplicity) but at most four real zeros.
An easy example: f(x) = x^2 + a
f(x) = 0 has no solution if a > 0, one solution if a = 0, namely 0 (double), and two solutions if a < 0, namely +-sqrt(|a|).
Okay thank you anon, I think I have that one sort of figured out. Is sqrt(7)i an answer? I have down sqrt(3), sqrt(3)i, and sqrt(7)i, but is it correct to put i? I will probably need to wait and get some feedback from my teacher to fully understand.
I also have another problem that i don't even know where to start, if you or anyone wanted to help with this too. I imagine it has a similar process. It is pic related

+sqrt(3), -sqrt(3), +sqrt(7)i, -sqrt(7)i
For such functions: find a zero by guessing, use divisors of 6, and you will find that 2 is a zero
2^3 - 2(2^2) -3(2) + 6 = 0
so you know that (x - 2) is a linear factor.
I'm looking for torrents of the bakuman manga and the colored one piece manga. help me out.
I found this cool wood cup and i want use it as a coffee mug. It has something medieval to it The problem is that the inside is dirty. There are paint spots in the wood. How can i make it so that i can safely drink from it? Do i glaze it? Do i put a smaller cup inside it.should i grind the inside. Maybe pour something inside and let it dry on the walls ?
Or do you know where i can find a cup like this. Its 14cm length and 6.5cm big
It was from my childhood i used it as a pen holder for felt-pens
Any vids like this, specifically with the hair taking up the periphery? If not, I'd like this stuff to get out there, perhaps by request on youtube.

There's a /lit/ meme, "start with the greeks". How does one start with the Greeks? Do i read about them or translated works from their plays?

I can't seem to ID this GameCube I just bought, does anyone know what edition this is?
that's ralts I think
Look for a model number or something
Pretty sure it's just a normal black GameCube with a Ralts sticker on it.
Is there a site where I can record quantities of things and have it viewable for others? Like say I'm playing a game with someone and we have a certain number of points, we could use the site to track the number of points and possibly also record how the points are spent and gained?

You mean, like an Excel table? Google Sheets does multi-user editing. You can even make the table publicly viewable if you want. If you don't like Google, Microsoft Office Online is similar.
If text is enough, then Piratepad or some other Etherpad site. It gives you a multi-user textbox with text formatting, which is significantly more "lightweight" than Sheets.
Or do you want an *actual* web site, as in specialized in tracking quantities?
does anyone have that video of the 30 year old loser complaining about how boring his life has been? its about 1 year old
I need to find the value of the side of the complete rectangle.

Bump for interest
I dont think this is possible

Okay OP this should have infinite solutions

I agree, i think it has infinite solutions, but just in case, bumping.
I forgot which characters are uppercase and downcase in a password, how do I make a function that prints all variations?
Sorta like this:
>password
>passworD
>passwoRd
>passwoRD
>passwOrd
And so on,you get the drill. It doesn't have to be in this order tho
The simplest way would be to make it recursive.
Make a function that takes 2 arguments: the candidate string (CS) and the remaining string (RS). At first CS is empty and RS is the base password (e.g. "password").
Inside the function, you try the password if CS has the length of your password, if it's shorter, take the first character from RS and call that same function using CS concatenated with that first character as CS and RS without the first character as RS. Do that for both the upper case and the lower case. In this case the first call to the function would be function("","password") and the first recursive calls would be function("P", "assword") and function("p","assword"), then it will be function ("PA", "ssword"), function("pA","ssword") and so on.
Could someone tell me what tgis image is from? Im sorry for the shit image, but its the only thing I have. I cant for the life of me remember where its from at all, which is really bugging me.
Thanks
It's definitely from Love Live, and I think it comes from S2E9.

I'm looking for a Looney Toons cartoon that as far as anyone knows, does not exist.
However in the early nineties, I clearly remember a Looney Toons cartoon where Bugs Bunny beats Jesus with his own cross.
Now I know this sounds odd, but hear me out.
I loved Looney Toons, I watched them all the time. But I have clear memories as a child of cartoons that I can NOT find anywhere. Not ANYWHERE.
Here's an example. I clearly remember a final scene at one of the Bugs Bunny cartoons where Jesus is acting like a 'dolt' like acting very silly and goofy, tripping around.
And Bugs goes over, makes fun of him (something like "I heard you turn the other cheek, eh?"), takes his cross he has on his back, and starts beating him with it in a comical fashion. I remember it clearly, because I can still see the scenery background, the ground was slightly brown but very yellow, with some small bush/trees in the background and a slightly opaque blue sky. The ground seemed to cover most of the background, with only a small sliver of blue sky and some of the bushes. My thought is maybe it represented a desert? I don't know. Jesus was facing to the right, stumbling.
Bugs Bunny entered from either side, I can't remember. Does his classic line and just wails on him.
But that image stuck with me for my entire life, and now I realize, that it doesn't exist!
But it does; it must! Somewhere...
It's "Looney Tunes"

Hello,
I am looking for someone who is either a native speaker or understands Japanese; to help me and translate following video:
https://youtu.be/pQSgDMWLIlg
Please understand that I don't ask for a exact 1:1 translation, I just need someone who can render and summarize it in their own words, without leaving important information out.
I am very grateful for any help from anyone.
I hope someone here can sacrifice 10min out of their day to help me. I really appreciate everyone and every bit of help.
Thank you very much for your time.
Thanks in advance!
hi. it looks like they are talking about the Hercules beetle
you can find out relevant info at this place:

I know. I know much about the hobby of beetle breeding and much more about the hercules beetle, but still I need a translated specifics.
Thank you nonetheless.
Easy. Pay someone to translate it for you.
