Guys, I know I'm stupid, but I just don't know what to do. I want to try Linux distros by USB stick without making any changes to my hard drive. Now this is presented as a very simple process on the Internet, but it is just extremely unclear to me. Should I simply download from the big 'download' button from the distro's website, move the file to the USB stick and boot the computer with the stick put in? Some websites mentioned some media writers that will consequently wipe everything off the USB stick. Others say something about command lines. I don't understand anthing anymore. Please write a foolproof guide for a brainlet like me.

No, you do need to use a media writer. Moving the file to a USB stick will not work.
>Some websites mentioned some media writers that will consequently wipe everything off the USB stick. Others say something about command lines.
You do need a media writer program and it will wipe the contents of the USB stick. There's a particular well-known such writer program that you run from the command line, but there are others.
>>312249
And what does the media writer do? Where do I put it, keep it in the computer or move it to the USB stick? Do I still need to download from the big button?
>>312248
The media writer can write the linux distro to the USB file. It's a program you install on your existing computer to write the USB stick.
People recommend the program Rufus ( https://rufus.akeo.ie/ ) to write the image to a USB stick. Instructions:
- Download linux image with the big red button
- Download Rufus
- Insert USB stick
- Start Rufus
- Select USB stick
- Select linux image
- Select "create a bootable disk image using -> dd image"
- Start
This gets you a bootable USB thing that will then work anywhere.

Should I configure my router to deal only with 10 different IPs? I have 3 smartphones, 2 tablets, 2 notebooks and that's it. It'll be more secure that way? More efficient? Should I take a time to do this? I know there'll be 3 IPs left with "no purpose". But my friends can bring their shit someday so I better be ready.

I changed the email my Facebook account was attached to and it won't let me log in because it says I need to "confirm" the new email address through a link sent by email. The problem is, I'm not receiving any emails from Facebook. They're not being sent to any junk folder, they are not being filtered, and they are not being blocked by an ISP. Facebook is just not sending the emails and it's driving me up the wall. Does anyone have any idea what I could do? I already tried confirming my account with my mobile phone number but Facebook won't let me because it thinks it's already attached to a different account, when the number is actually attached to the account I'm trying to log into. Does anyone have a workaround or a solution?
>>312180
Sometimes the email takes days or even weeks until you see it in your inbox.
>>312180
Wouldn't it be nice if there was a page you could go to on their site, or even a way to contact them by say, email?
Stupid, lazy fucker.

Listen here, you drooling mongoloid. I've looked at the FAQ and it's useless, and if there's a way to contact Facebook support in a way other than their shitty community help forum, I'd love to know about it.
color her, use any color scheme you want.
Here you go buddy.
Ah wait, I figure you meant you want different parts in different colors, LOL. Wait a minute.
No need to thank.
I'm trying to research different races and types of monsters, mythological creatures, creatures from folklore, etc. But I can't seem to find a source that gives me more than two sentences of information about each monster. Does anyone know a good source? (Picture unrelated)
Wikipedia.
Books. Head down to your nearest library I'm sure they can help you out or a bookstore if you can afford it.

I recently bought a prebuilt PC due to difficulties IRL and was wondering if I could upgrade it.
I soon want to get additional internal HDDs, and maybe buy a new graphics card etc. in a year. What would be some things I should be aware of when doing so?
I'd just like to know. Thanks in advance.
Current specs are
>CPU: i5-6600K @ 3.50GHz
>RAM: 16.0GB
>GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070
>Motherboard: MSI Z170A
You don't need a new graphics card.
You don't really need to upgrade any of those parts. Just buy your extra HDDs and stick them in there.

May I know why?

I fucked up. I meant Steven Seagall. Although Sylvester Stallone movies can be on that list as well.
Hi /wsr/,
I somehow managed to delete my boot mgr on win 7, I still dont exactly know HOW i did so... I was wiping the D:/ drive of my hdd, while windows itself is installed on C:/...
So I went to my parents place, getting me our windows disk, and wanted to fix that issue.
Turns out, for some reason my computer refuses to boot from the disk. Thought I may have burnt it wrong, so I got a second disk which Works perfectly fine on my dads computer.
Went into the bios, changed the boot sequences to cd/dvd drive only, and tried again.
Now I dont get the "boot mgr is missing" error, but something that tells me it cant boot and I should insert a proper boot media.
I can hear my cd/dvd drive working, the LED blinks, disk rotates and all but it wont boot for all i tried
Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this without simply throwing that pc out the window?
In the bios, try setting "compatibility boot mode" or whatever your bios calls it, and disabling secure boot.
Does that help things?
>>311995
Nope.. Doesnt do anything :/
>>311995
Its disabled as standard option in general as I just checked
Is there an anime discussion community that has a requirement of say, 300-500+ anime series watched to participate? Or, more realistically, is there an anime discussion community where the participants are mostly people who have watched a lot of anime series?
>>311959
>a requirement of 300-500+
Outside of a streaming site that tracks how many series a user watches, how would anyone be able to enforce it?
>>311961
The most realistic way of enforcing it is if the community was based on an anime tracking website like myanimelist, anime-planet or hummingbird. To join, the user must have x anime entries in their anime list. Of course this is easy to fake by adding a bunch of series without watching them, but very few people would bother doing that. This is how I expect it to be enforced if this kind of community exists at all.
Alternatively, it could be enforced by moderation. This wouldn't stop anyone from participating, but it would stop people from acting in a certain way. The end result is approximately the same for me, not ideal but acceptable.
I'm mostly expecting an answer to the 2nd question rather than the 1st, because it is indeed unlikely.
>>311959
>Is there an anime site where you are required to have killed most of your brain cells watching literal shit?
Why would you want this? Once you've watched over 150 anime, you have certifiably lost your ability to filter low quality trash. Who the hell would put any value in discussion coming from that?
One Punch Man is one of the few shows/anime that I've ever really loved and I want to see more like it. Something funny with decent action and lots of cool characters. Classic Dragon Ball is another one that I've liked. I prefer if its REALLY good, like considered a classic, rather than just some niche cult anime that aired for a season and never really went too far.
Check out Mob Psycho 100
check out hunter x hunter I promise it isn't hentai its really good too with the first 5/6 episodes starting slow
>>311928
>some niche cult anime that aired for a season and never really went too far
Just like One Punch Man then?
