Can you guys recommend some good Notebooks for student? My budget is 300- 400 Euro. Is a Thinkpad 420 really good or is it just a /g/ meme?
>>343593
I got a Fujitsu Lifebook S751 lease returner for 140 Euro, more than enough. Looks really great too with its white keyboard imho. Lease returner business notebooks are a good pick altogether.

chromebook is a really cheap throwaway notebook

They are really good, but they are old, and they're missing modern conveniences like UEFI and Intel Smart Response (you need an xx30 with Ivy Bridge for that).
What you do get, though, is unparalleled build quality. Thinkpads shrug off events that would destroy or write off other laptops: spill your drink on them and it comes back out the bottom, drop them on their power connector and all you need to do is bend back the sacrificial bracket, knock them off the desk and the freefall sensor parks the hard disk.
Lenovo do a factory refurbishment program where you get a laptop that's been cleaned, given a new battery, and warranted for a year. It's a really good deal.
Hello, I've recently started a YouTube channel and any feedback is greatly appreciated. Its mainly going to be making shitty meme songs.

Anybody else ever taken an online PE class and had to fill out these stupid ass nutrition logs? If you have a copy and can upload it I'd love that.

https://github.com/Disassembler0/Win10-Initial-Setup-Script/blob/master/Win10.ps1
Comment out / Uncomment in the things you want / don't want and then run the script.
You might need to disable window's "can't run powershell scripts" protection if it comes up.
Hey /wsr/ I have a really random tech question and I have no idea where else to post this so you all get to read it.
A buddy of mine recently got his hands on a Lenovo laptop. He was enjoying this laptop until it hit a BSOD. Now i'm not 100% sure why my friend did this but he pulled his battery the moment he saw the BSOD before it could calculate the dump.
Now he's bringing the laptop over so I can have a look at it because it won't even turn on anymore. With or without a battery or being plugged into a wall outlet.
Basically has anyone heard anything of this? What the heck am I in for when I told my buddy I for sure could (100%) fix this for him?
Pic related; it's my dumbass helping my bud.
>>343551
He's probably just being a dumbass and it has a scribbled disk because he pulled the power while it was writing.
If not, try pulling the CMOS battery, and if that doesn't work try to get a board schematic and trace out the PSU circuit to see what is and isn't working. You can just about work out where the PSU is and what everything should be doing by looking at it, but it's way easier with a schematic telling you what voltage everything is supposed to be.
>>343557
Thats pretty much what I thought anon. Is there a quick fix to this or do I have to send him to Best Buy or something so they can reinstall his windows for him?
I have no install disks ><
Can someone who can use photoshop make the eyes of the guardsman glow red, like in the "begone thot" memes?
>>343546
Instructions were unclear.
So I'm making a game and its getting quite elaborate now, but I have a small problem.
On windows, the code in the picture (linked at end of post) functions just fine: If there's a reference to the map, use it. If not, attempt to get it and then hopefully it'll be fixed on the next frame.
However, when compiling this with the GCC compiler on GNU Linux, this causes a segfault. It is when ANY of the functions called on the _map pointer are attempted, not just this one. A fix for this problem is getting the map reference every frame and then using it, but obviously this is wasteful. Are there any additional checks I can do on the _map pointer to ensure that it is functional?
Thanks

if(whatever) just means "if whatever isn't zero, do this:".
It's not testing if it's a valid object, it's just testing if it's zero or not.
If null has been assigned to it, the standard says it's equal to zero, but if nothing has ever been assigned to it at all, your code is basically equivalent to if(rand()) {_map-->snapToMap..... .
Either use calloc, or explicitly zero your pointer array.
>>343552
Oh right! Thankyou! So I should specifically set the pointer to NULL if this is to work as intended?
It is after all, only the first iteration of this call that fails, but its ensuring that it does detect it is NULL that is important.
I'll look into calloc as well, thanks
>>343538
Obvious advice here, but make sure you're using g++; gcc is only a C compiler. (I'm aware GCC is more than gcc, g++, etc)
Requesting some help identifying a movie. Anyone know what kung fu movie Marshell and Ted are watching in this episode? Its episode 10 from season 4 called the fight.
hi guys
looking for that shitty "shredded cheese for my hungry tummy in front of the fridge at 5AM" meme. would appreciate if anyone had it and posted it.
