slice of life i mean
Blue Gender
>>16775
looks interesting, thanks
Shows that involve people going on adventures and having fun, while showing the creator's imagination through cool settings/animals/plots.
None of the disgusting political shit. Emotional is okay if it is peppered on top, instead of being a selling point.
Please help me find shows that fit this description! I love adventures so much! I do not have real life friends, and my life is so boring. I need to watch more things like these to fill a gap in my life.
>non-anime?
Over the Garden Wall
Avatar: The Last Airbender
Legend of Korra
>>16751
No no, it does not matter if is anime or not. I am not discriminatory.
Over the Garden Wall is great! Adventure galore, and Avatar truly captures the "team on an adventure" dynamic.
Korra is okay, but it has too much politics and emotion for my taste.
I have watched them but thank you very much for your suggestion. Just the fact that you would take the time to post in this thread warms my heart.

From my favorites
I am poor, I only have a laptop but I would like to game.
amd a8-6410 2.0(2.4)ghz quad core
4 gig ram
shit 512 integrated graphics
if I got a mini pci-e external gpu adapter and upgraded to 8gig ram what video card would be best with said spec? I figure the cpu will bottleneck, maybe a 750ti or is even that overkill? What kinds of games could I run?
self paying for school with McWages so the cheaper the better.
See how expensive a gtx660 is now. You can run pretty damn intensive games with it. Definitely all source games maxed, games like hitman maxed, games around the new wolfenstein will start to lag on max.
>>16664
I think that is a bit much. thank you though
my price range is about $100 or as close to. should have stated earlier. my friend just suggested an amd r9 270. is that any good?
>>16686
The 660ti goes for about $100 right now, should be perfect for what you need. Afaik the r9 270 should also work, but I'm less sure of AMD.
Recommend me a SOL animu that I haven't seen.

Acchi Kocchi
Hidamari Sketch is one of my personal favorite anime, go check it out.
While I haven't watched it personally everyone says Aria is really good.
>>16576
Thanks. I've already seen 3 episodes of Hidamari and it's not my cup of tea (I don't like most SHAFT anime).
I've heard plenty about Aria but I'm looking for something with a bit of a comedy element right now. I should have mentioned that in the OP. Besides, the whole being set on Mars thing doesn't appeal to me.
There's probably not many anime that I haven't heard of that fit what I'm looking for but I figured I should make a thread here just in case I find a hidden gem.
Manabi Straight
Sketchbook Colors
Kimi to Boku if you're OK with boys too
Help me choose something new to watch. Been in a slump for a while and looking for something captivating to draw me back into anime. Relevant 3x3 so you can get an idea of taste. I'm open to ideas, but generally just looking for something cohesive and self contained. Leaning towards: action, adventure, anything with a novel and unique scenario that's good for a quick watch-through. Leaning away from: drama, SoL.

I'm in the middle of watching Kousetsu Hyaku Monogatari and it's quite different than anything I've seen. It's an episodic horrorish story about a writer who wants to gather 100 horror stories from local japanese myths and legends. The art is unique and fitting and the music is quite good.
There's also Berserk, which I'll recommend to almost anyone. Believable characters with a compelling story and a darker turn that's obvious in hindsight, but still shocking. Fairly bloody with a solid art style, it's great for continued watching.
Last would katanagatari. By far one of the most visually stimulating anime I've ever seen with a ridiculously great story. Written by the guy who does the Monogatari series, but unrelated. It's got a lot of reading and the fight scenes tend to be brief, but they're clever and each one is different.
Hopefully one of those can pull you out of your slump.

To OP, I suggest Mawaru Penguindrum.

GIVE ME YOUR BEST FUCKING ROMANTIC DRAMA
>>17203
Kemonozume (anime) and Take on Me (porn manga).
After you've finished them, you won't be able to enjoy romance anymore, because nothing else, in any medium, comes even close.
>>17211
>Take on Me
Why is it that to see a grown-up take on relationships and people acting like actual people, you have to look to porn?
>>17215
Because when the author tried to make a non-porn manga after Take on Me, it was simply garbage and got axed in like 15 chapters, sadly. But hey, at least that left us with his fantastic idolm@ster doujins.
Lately I've started torrenting a lot more than usual, and I've run into ram issues. I've used uTorrent and QBitTorrent and both of them max out my ram after a while of uploading. I've got 16GB of ram, so it's not like that should be the issue. I've tried Googling the problem, but the only answers I got were contradictory and didn't completely work anyway (although the answer I got for QBitTorrent did slow ram usage down by a lot, but only down to what uTorrent was doing). Unlike what other people are saying, closing the program doesn't clear the 10+GB of used ram instantly, it takes hours for it to go back down. So does anyone know how to fix this, or know a client that doesn't have this issue?
>>17017
rtorrent is the lightest one. It runs on CLI though, so if you want a gui, you can use rutorrent as a frontend, but it won't be as light.
>>17042
I don't care if it uses up 5GB of ram, as long as it doesn't use all of my ram over time
>>17052
rtorrent is what seedboxes usually run.

I'm looking for anime MOVIES with beautiful art. Think Wolf Children and 5 Centimeters Per Second. Actually, aren't there any images like 4chan usually makes that show all the most beautiful anime movies?
Also, I'm looking for MOVIES, not SERIES.
well, films by Miyazaki are a no-brainer, with the visual pinnacle without a doubt being Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi (Spirited Away). i don't care much about the plot, but there is no denying that the movie is absolutely fucking gorgeous and rich in detail.
i also quite enjoyed the animation on Toki o kakeru shôjo (The Girl who leapt through Time) and Paprika. Kôkaku Kidôtai (Ghost in the Shell) has a lot of visual depth, where the visuals tell about as much of the story as the dialogue does.
you've probably seen all of them, since they are well-known :-)
>>16727
Redline has a staggering amount of frames and something is always happening. The art is vibrant and colorful. There's a reason why it took them like 6 years to make the movie.
K-On! Picture/gif thread?
Also any recommendations on animes like K-On?
