Looking for charts like pic related, which collect a lot of mosaics from various stuff (movies, video games etc)

Cool, already have yours, a shame it's so japan-centric, wish you had a normal vidya and normal movie chart. Also albums and comics.

Also, what's the middle mosaic supposed to be?

Alright lads, I've not watched anime in almost a decade. I kind of grew out of it and to be honest a lot of this weeb culture didn't help. I don't want to watch lolis flying around casting spells or super kawaii/moe drama.
Basically I'm hoping some of you lot can suggest something along the lines of what I'm trying to define, to kind of get me back into watching anime.
I like the more gritty but not intentionally hardcore stuff, sort of things that are low on the weeb-scale. I don't mean Yu Yu Hakusho or DBZ, because I still classify that as hyperactive drama.
Somewhere in the realm alongside Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in The Shell, FMA and even Trigun off the top of my head.
Much appreciated.
Monster.
I'm not very good at recommending anime to people who hate anime, but I guess try Samurai Champloo? Maybe Baccano too. I don't know what will trigger your hatred of "weeb" culture.

Looks good thanks

For lack of a better word, you know what I mean. Let's just say what /a/ would consider fantastic watching.
Best way I can describe it is like Studio Ghibli, aside from their films directed at children. I like all of them, they don't have any kawaii/moe/pandering/fan service vibes. They have a story and they tell it, they don't include any story telling narratives like 'Super Cool Guy' like you would see in most animes.
For more of an example, I like Bleach or liked, it has a good story but it's plagued by those 'narratives', it has moe/kawaii moments, it has the emphasise on super badass hero moments and so on.
Basically I'm after animes that obviously aren't centred around high school romance drama, but something with a good story and its narrative doesn't pick up on any of the cues that plague most animes.
Sorry if that's complicated.
I'm in a bad mood and need somthing to cheer me up. Can I get some recommendations on good romance anime?
A few I've seen and liked are:
>your lie in April
>kids on the slope
>ano natsu de materu
And
>to love ru
Akagami no Shirayuki-hime
Not really a romance but Non Non Biyori is good for cheering up

I'm going to get a new laptop for my junior year of college. Ideally, I'm looking for something that:
>Is suitable for writing long papers and doing internet research
>Has a decent amount of storage
>Is able to run vidya alright (doesn't have to be great, just serviceable for smaller games)
>Isn't cheap or overpriced garbage that will burn out after a few months of use
Not too picky about what kind of laptop, as long as it's not Crapple. I don't know shit about computers so forgive my ignorance on the subject.

Budget?
Dude, you're getting a Dell!
>>166887
Not too particular about it, just preferably below $1500.
I only just found out about Kickass's demise, how are we all finding torrents these days? I'm looking for all the seasons of QI.
Here's a random picture of Fry and Laurie.

With some care, TPB is still salvageable. You need to be just a little less wary than Limewire, which sucks, but it's not slow by any means.
>>166845
Hrmmm, well I don't mind speed but I'm no master torrenter, I was just a kid when Limewire was the rage. Any pointers for how to go about not destroying myself with TBP?

Read the comments, make sure you download only from respected uploaders.
If I want to make a debian liveusb to use for installation, should i download the cd image, the dvd image, or does it even matter?
>>166796
Download the .iso and use linuxlive usb creator
>>166799
but there is no iso,it says 'cd images' and 'dvd images'. i want to know which of those IS the iso. in all other distros i've used, it just said 'iso images'. I'm bloody confused.
Debian doesn't have a liveusb version
Hi.
I'm requesting, asking for recommendations for some anime that are serious and solemn (so no comedies!). The best anime I've ever seen is Monster, and it seems like there are VERY few animes like it, in terms of visually "un-exaggerated" character designs, constant suspense, intelligent writing/ story; it feels kind of "real", like it's a live action suspense thriller that just happened to be hand-drawn. I'm not really a fan of animes where 90 % (arbitrary amount) are teenagers, and where there's a bunch of physically overpowered characters.
So I guess I'd like to get some recommendations on mystery, thriller, drama animes. I quite enjoy crime dramas, but I'm not sure there are that many excellent crime animes (perhaps you know of some?).
My favorite tv show is probably True Detective (season 1)
One of my all time favorite movies is Zodiac.
My favorite TV mini-series is a Swedish one called "Lasermannen" (which a friend of mine created English subs for). It was INCREDIBLY well made... yet appears to be near completely unknown outside of Sweden (as well as Denmark/ Norway I'm guessing).

Psycho-Pass

I've seen it, thought it was solid but it felt a bit too action oriented.
