Firstly, political prisoners under the age of 18 are rare. I can't realistically see a 15 year old being a political opponent of the government.

Also, growth is possible if the character got out at 15, but I doubt they would reach the same height as someone who was properly fed for their entire childhood.

I don't know any of your preferences, but I'll recommend Katanagatari anyway because it's my favourite anime. If you like swords and badass character designs (and also the best MC character duo in anime ever) then it's lit.
