>>
>>1853983
Helicopter parts are replaced after a certain amount of hours of use. My guess is that those hours are adjusted based on typical loads.
That isn't a ton of weight, but doing a sling load like that over and over again, applying lateral force to the masthead over and over again probably does reduce effective lifespan. That pilot is freakishly good, though. I can't even begin to describe how careful you have to be with a sling load in a helicopter. A helicopter is itself just a swinging weight underneath the blades. Add another pendulum and things get tricky quickly. Throw in heavily limited visibility and things will get bad faster than you can fuckin' blink. My guess is somebody that good knows what will and wont work.
If helicopters at all interest you go read Robert Mason's Chickenhawk.

Question for any tailors or just anyone who can afford a custom suit:

When the tailor asks what side you dress on, what adjustments do they actually make to accommodate the answer? Do they make a little penis pocket in the let you identified?
>>
>>1855568
Apparently they're just asking so they can measure your inseam without brushing wang.

The music is beautiful in its own right. The setting is 5 or 6 men sitting around a kitchen table, we see vodka, dirty dishes, cigarettes, a soda bottle. At least two of them sing while another plays guitar and backs them up. I also think the guy between the guitarist and singers made some of those haunting echoes later in the piece. In his opinion it diminishes the art and design of glassblowing (an art practiced since ancient Egyptian times) to a repetitive process of making tacky identical horses, and given how viral the video is, that it's damaged the image of the practice.
I personally tend to agree him.

Damn, how long have you been on this shithole?
Fun story: I drew and posted a comic on /int/ about turkish people and babies ("mehmet, my son"), and it got a ton of edits. A few months later, out of the blue, a guy I know quotes the comic to me IRL and didn't believe me when I said I drew it. Hell, I'm pretty sure he still doesn't.
It's always weird reading posts where someone admits to making something hugely popular. I mean, you expect that the people behind all those images are still lurking, but it's still weird.

Nah fuck you. Making gears is menial labor that anyone can do if they know how. There's no artistry in it. Saying that the art is now lessened because they have sped up the menial aspects of it is something only complete morons say, because to them every aspect of the art is mysterious and arcane. They can't tell the difference between something that takes skill and something that is just time consuming, to you making a single gear is just as impressive as perfectly setting a gem in less than 4 seconds. Because you know absolutely nothing about the work involved.

Honestly a $100 wallet IS too extravagant. For something that's probably the most likely of mine to get stolen and goes through the least amount of physical stress, I'm sticking to cheap ones. And it's not like a $100 wallet performs better than a cheap one. They both hold money.

But some things are definitely worth splurging on. Shoes are one of them.
>>
>>1859385
A $100 wallet is something you will intrinsically hold as more valuable and treat better, meaning you would be more protective of it so it would be less likely to get stolen, and you would care more for it, which, when combined with the higher quality material, means it is probably going to last a lot longer than your $20 wallet and is going to look a lot better while it does.

A Martinez is rum, vermouth, and bitters. So I'm not sure why they call this a 'Rum Martinez.'

Anyways. He used a nice rum, a very nice vermouth, and house-maid bitters that one hopes complement the drink well, All the jazz with the smoke is easier accomplished otherwise, but it does add a bit of smoke aroma to the experience - which is nice since he also lit a cigarillo to smoke.

Overall, it's quite nice and in a bar I'd pay $25-30 for that on a special occasion. However, I suspect the actual asking cost is....rather more than that.

All the pageantry is status-signalling. Status-signalling is expensive by design, or it doesn't work.
