Unfortunately, 10K subs really doesn't mean a lot when you've got as many as he does ... especially with an established base of now-inactive subs (ie. it doesn't -look- like he lost anything), and when you realize that a significant chunk (ie. most) views on big YouTube channels probably don't come from subs anymore. Plus, like in most of these cases, the majority of people who unsubscribed were probably already sick of him/his content, with this just being the final straw to actually hit the unsubscribe button.

So practically, the sub loss means nothing. But it sure sounds like he took another hit to his credibility (as did a few other "internet games journalists" in trying to cover that particular game).
