Youjo Senki is not WW1 even discounting the mages.

It's set more in the interwar period. The tanks are a little advanced, but not completely ground breakingly. The war completely shifts to WW2ish as it goes on.

But one could easily think that it's playing in WW1 looking at how most the battles were fought. A ton of artillery trenches, and not really any vehicles, except for the very end weirdly enough.

Not forgetting the fact that some characters have talked about an upcoming "world war", something that was unheard of in that universe till now.

Because even though the tech is slightly more advanced, this is the first world-scale conflict for that world. They've never fought an industrialized war before, just like how WW1 was the first real world application of the military-industrial complex, so to is it for that world.

Illya isn't actually that major of a character in most Fate stories. In the original game, Fate/Stay Night, she was more of a side character except in Heaven's Feel route where she played a more significant role (in part because she was originally supposed to have her own route but they scrapped it and so combined a lot of her scenes into Sakura's route). The one real exception is Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya, where she's the main character and pretty much everything involves her to some degree. She doesn't die tragically in that one, and although it does get really heavy into Fate world building as the series progresses it's overall a much more lighthearted kind of story than you normally see in Fate.

Always use Variable / CRF, and change your resoltuion / CRF ratio accordingly.
Play around with the mode, and you will quickly find out how much easier it is to get a decent quality webm done this way.

This webm got me to watch, show was enjoyable but not necessarily as inventive as I had hoped.

I felt it would have been better served if the MC was just an unfortunate child shaped by the war around her into a sociopath who finds potential in magic and becomes a murderloli because the world pushes her to serve the already fucked up system.

Possibly lower the resolution a bit more, to 500p or 480p, and use it for a higher bitrate.

Just remember that the filesize limit is 4mb, so try to use it as far as you time allows it.
Meaning that you should use "tolerance" to get the maximum out of your webm.
Granted, it won't make a gigantic difference, but every bit counts I would say.
